Difficult to return and sell defective items

Staff were very difficult, unfriendly to work with. The gentlemen who inspected items told me the are items are not returnable. Purchased a wallet and I went home and see scratch all over the purse. When I tried to exchange same purse they are not willing to exchange since it is used.The wallet is less than a week old. They sold with scratch.
Worst company to deal with and staff was not friendly at all. They show new one in the store and packed with scratch on wallet and they are unable to exchange also. Don't deal with it

Boutiques quick to sell Defective items while making Returns impossible

My friend bought a Burberry bag from Holts Square One Mississauga where the Sales Associate (Oxsana) upon checkout, started to rub leather conditioner at the bottom of this "brand new" bag. It was confusing why she did that but she did. My friend shows me the bag and I didn't like this particular style so I advised him to return it and get something else. Upon arriving to another Burberry location at the Holts Bloor Street Toronto, the Burberry SA (Joseph) refused to refund the handbag as it was defective. My friend had just purchased the handbag at 11:30am with Oxsana and at 5:20pm, we were returning it with Joseph. The tags were still on, with original wrapping. Joseph told us to go back to the store we bought it from and try returning it there because he cannot take a defective/used item. We advised him that it was sold like this to him and Joseph stated that Burberry cannot sell items in this condition. The sheer disregard for our convenience and ultimate blame on us returning a defective item - it was surreal. Never ever have I experienced negligence and dismissiveness from a brand that prides itself in customer service and luxury experiences. Basically, it was my friend's fault for buying a defective item from a boutique where the SA was quick to sell it to him while conditioning it, and then restricting returns to any applicable Burberry boutique, forcing him to face inconvenience and shame.

Extremely disappointed with the brand!

Extremely disappointed with the brand.
Bought so many items in the past and always everything was OK until now.
Purchased a pair of sneakers, worn them couple of times and they developed a fault. They are just torn apart on one side.
Contacted the brand, but they replied to me saying that is my fault, that I didn't wear them properly! Which is nonsense! The shoes are like brand new! Paid so much money for it. Just not acceptable.

Never received my item

Never received my item. After waiting for Burberry to conduct an “investigation” with UPS and first telling me they won’t do anything because UPS said it was delivered - never even showed a flat number just said some random name of a person who received my package. Proof of delivery said a signature was required but UPS never got my signature. Called UPS and they said the investigation was closed bc they found my package and they tried re delivering it but still nothing has shown up. I don’t understand how it can be legal for a company to take your money and then you never get your product. Looking forward to see if my package actually gets redelivered.

Customer service must be a American idea

I think customer service must be an American invention. Certainly not something we learned from he Brits. My blouse arrived completely wrinkled and unwearable. The "customer service" rep at Burberry did not care.

My husband bought me a $1200 silk blouse direct from Burberry, for Christmas. Besides that it almost did not arrive in time even though he ordered it weeks in advance, when it did arrive it was completely wrinkled. He has never ironed anything in his life and has no idea how to turn on an iron, so he wrapped up the blouse that looked like a dish towel after being wrung, as best he could and gave it to me. Fortunately, I had picked it out on line so I knew it could look better. And I know how to use an iron.

I had not worn the blouse as of one month after I received it, because it needed ironing. I hate to iron! Finally, I decided to get to it.

Unfortunately, as all my blouses are dry clean only, I rarely use my iron. Usually only for cloth napkins. I am a good American who does not iron her sheets! The ironing board is something I got at Muji and is used on a table or counter top. I chose the counter top. I did not see there was an open pen sitting on the counter. Ugh, bad to worse. I now had ink on the blouse. I am resourceful so I managed to wash it out as it was a fresh mark. But of course I could not wear the blouse as it was all wet.

I realized I should have sent it back and told Burberry to send me the blouse in a condition that could be worn. I decided to complain.

After a few emails, the response was bring the blouse to a store--actually, not me, they wanted my husband to bring it in as he purchased it.

Nope- not happening. I will spend the time trashing Burberry online instead .

How very stupid. All I wanted was an apology and maybe a $20 gift certificate just to show they cared and that sending out an unpressed silk blouse was a mistake. Guess not. This is just business as usual. Well Burberry, you lost mine!

Worst customer service ever!

I bought an umbrella online £180. I received an empty box? I contacted them immediately and they have spent the last 12 days sending me patronising emails advising me that they are investigating my case? I do not have a case? I do not have a brolly and I do not have my £180? This has to be the worst company I have ever dealt with! They have a problem with UPS not me I am stuck in between the 2 companies through no fault of mine!

Burberry products do not last more than 3 years

Bought an expensive Tot Bag from Burberry and it was used infrequently and not often. Within 3 years the leather straps were coming apart. I brought this to the attention of Burberry service who insisted it is not a matter of quality or manufacturing, but normal wear and tear. Really..? This is normal?

NOTE TO EVERYONE - Burberry products are made to last only 3 years.

Bought the vintage check block…

Bought the vintage check block shoe/pump at the end of January 2022 - worn them 5 times for special occasions- the shoe is fine the sole has worn to a hole - sent pictures and it’s clear I’ve hardly worn them by looking at the heel wear - don’t buy very poor product and very poor aftercare - Burberry response accidental damage !!!!!!

Unable to exchange item

After a length process with Customer Services to exchange a coat the Sloane Street store were fantastic in dealing with my request.

Sherraz Hush at the store was superb, attentive and a pleasure to deal with.

Thanks also to Millie and Ellen at customer services for resolving.

Horrible customer experience

Horrible customer experience.
I purchased 3 items which I later returned. The company is claiming to only have received 3 items and claiming that I am still in possession of the third.

The ref numbers for these purchases are 20306746 and 20308188.

Only thing their customer service cared about was to put items in my basket and ask me to try different sizes.

I’ve only given this rating 1 because…

I’ve only given this rating 1 because they answered the phone!!
I have a package that needs to be returned.
I have to print out a returns slip .
I have NO printer.
I called Burberry and got no where..Why do all of these companies think that everyone has a printer in their home.
I asked to speak to someone to complain about this but obviously they were too busy!!
So when they found out that I was returning the parcel for my son they blocked me again with” unless you were the person who ordered the package they cannot talk to me!!
So I asked if they could send me a replacement slip,they couldn’t do that either!!!
Why?please someone at Burberry can you tell me when I’m sending something back I’m not trying to take anything from you.
As I said to the customer service representative, all I wanted was an address to send the parcel back to!!
It was just a total waste of time .
Really bad customer service.

Poor quality/construction, unwillingness to repair

I purchased the Burberry Horse Ferry canvas bag in the fall of 2021. Less than three months later the strap had started to fray. I contacted Burberry and was told to take it to a main store for assistance. I took it to the main store on Michigan Avenue in Chicago only to learn that Burberry will not replace the strap or even repair it at no cost to me. Customer Service relayed the same message. At this price point, Burberry should take better care of customers and care enough about quality to stand behind their products and make it right when a product is defective.

I bought a light weight Burberry scarf…

I bought a light weight Burberry scarf expecting an investment piece only to find after 3 days of wear they it’s fraying at a shocking rate. I don’t want to wear it in fear of it deteriorating further. I’m so disappointed in the product and the customer services. This is my last Burberry purchase!

Sub-par brand & communication spent a lot of money with …

I have spent a lot of money with Burberry. I went into an outlet store at Premium in Orlando on Black Friday after waiting in a long, but expected, line and purchased a shirt. It was too large so I attempted to return it. First with only 3 people shopping we had to wait outside for several minutes. When we entered and advised of the request, I was told no returns and that it was on the receipt. I normally shop in the main store so I was surprised.

I called CS and spoke with Abbie who was a great CS agent I verified before leaving the store that the blouse could be returned, not exchanged, by VICTORIA . It makes no sense to say that the disclosure is on the receipt because by that time you have already taken my money knowingly and fraudulently. In addition there is NO notice on the exterior of the store or inside that tells a customer same.

This , along with the other reviews, is not a good look for Burberry’s brand or communication. As a law professional, I WILL spread the word !

I bought a bag from the Woodbury outlet…

I bought a bag from the Woodbury outlet after saving a lot of money. The person who checked me out did not bother with my personal details. A year later the color of the leather is faded and the handles broken . They will not help me not take onus of the repair. Even Tory and Ralph Lauren help their customers if a subpar product had been delivered

outrageous service

outrageous service. ordered a £2,000 shoes two weeks ago. every customer service operator tells me a different thing. one said it's ready to be shipped, one it's gonna be shipped tomorrow and one that it hasn't even reached their warehouse yet. no updates at all. colleagues promise to give a call back and nothing happens. ridiculous how such an expensive brand sucks at any customer service whatsoever. i've ordered before from places like louboutin that comes straight from italy and it arrived within 3-4 days.

Logo of $1000 jacket pealing off

Logo of $1000 jacket pealing off. I have barely worn the jacket (less than 10 times). I went in to ask if they can fix it and they told me the logo is coming off because I am wearing a cross strap that must be rubbing against it. I don’t wear a cross strap or backpack and they told me they can’t repair it and there is nothing I can do. The quality of the jacket is quite poor. I wouldn’t buy anything from them again.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. They refused to accept the dry cleaners report stating there was an issue with the bonding in my rain coat. Burberry refused to look at the coat to start with, then said the marks that appeared after dry cleaning were due to me storing the coat incorrectly ( it was stored in the coat bag I purchased it in)
I wrote to the head of customer service and they didn’t bother replying to me. I now have a rain coat I cannot wear which cost me over £2000.
The dry cleaners that commissioned the report previously worked for Burberry.
Don’t purchase anything from them you WILL REGRET IT!!!
