Purchased our new Coachmen Northern…

Purchased our new Coachmen Northern Spirit in March of this year. We actually just stopped to look and this location used to be Pan Pacific in French Camp Ca. Camping World had purchased it at sometime in the last year or so. Anyway sales person was good and we spent a lot of time looking at many different trailers, unfortunately for me my wife talked me into purchasing the coachmen. We currently had a 2014 coachmen class C. First issue was I had no idea what it cost until I asked, next I believe the sales persons Dad comes in giving us the breakdown including our trade in. All seemed okay except this 1900 charge that he said was camping prep. It was called something else but basically he said it included propane and checking out the trailer. Okay gave him a down payment and set up the appointment a week later to pick it up noted a few issues right away with the salesman that needed to get fixed.
Showed up to pick it up and that's when everything started to go downhill. Waited 40 minutes past our appointment to speak with anyone, start the walk through and nothing was fixed that I noticed a week prior, guy show us stuff on the outside than he pointed out the stove microwave Fridge but never showed us how to start it. New 12 volt system. Shows us the bathroom and he operated the toilet and water sprayed everywhere. My first thought was all the wood was going to be damaged and expand from the water. So he went to get towels I took his circuit tester and finished checking things. So after that the walkthrough was done. Met the aka warranty guy and pointed out a few issues that we found and the guy who did the walkthrough said the toilet was fixed. She gives up a form that said nothing was due to us. No we wait for the financial guy. Now it's almost 5 pm. He knew I was getting pissed off so he called the GM because it was important for him to know. So after another 45 mins just discussing our first 2 hours at the dealership. So he gives us the weight distribution hitch so that saved us 1000,00 very generous since I wasn't looking for anything I was just very frustrated at that point. So we finished up with the paperwork purchased some of the extras like ext warranty ceramic coating interior protection.
Next day I had to call because I couldn't find the cord for the trailer. Great found it.
Now it time to bring it back to have the ceramic coating interior protection done. Get there at 8 took a hour because we had to wait for a Stacy now it 9 final they wrote it up said it would take about 5 hours. Since we live 1 1/2 away I took the wife to lunch and did some errands too. Get a call at noon saying it was ready. Get there packed in front and OMG. The thing was dirtier than when we left it. Went to find this Stacy, she started to ague with me about how the trailer looked and I that point I didn't believe they did anything, except it smelled like scotch guard inside and she said they sprayed everything walls ceiling everything. Big lie because we had stuff in there that was never touched so really? I get a pamphlet say it was done but no idea how to care for it. I ended up calling the company who made the product.
They cleaned up the trailer and hopefully we were done with CW. But no that lucky , missing some items that coachmen sent me , was checking for propane leaks and had a leaking tank that they didn't check, had to drive down again for a replacement. Oh for 1900.00 for that set up charge you don't even get TP anymore a hose water regulator drain hose . WOW. And nobody checks the propane tanks for leaks.
Finally was checking stuff to get ready for an our first trip and that didn't happen. That broken toilet was still broken as it sprayed water everywhere again, bathroom drains were plugged and I guess not checked, turned out stuff was stuck in the bathtub line. I fixed that, toilet was replaced by CW corp . That's another disaster dealing with their customer service. Great let's go camping except the refrigerator doesn't work hum I guess my fault because the freeze was really cold but the guy didn't know much about it during the walk though nor did he explain the solar. Going in for service to fix the fridge next month but not to CW. Coachmen found me another dealership to go to. Finally that distribution hitch was installed incorrectly and actually the bracket on the passenger side moved 4 inches forward. Scary. So though all this and number 5 Rv since 1995 I have never dealt with such an inexperienced company ever. Forget about their 24/7 service line he just gave me the number to Lippert for my refrigerator problem.Good Sam elite is no different than regular Good Sam interesting. So I will be canceling All the Good Sam extended warranty, 24/7 service line roadside assistance. Sorry the worst experience I ever had Experienced. Do you homework. Very Disappointed.

Went to Camping World in Jackson

Went to Camping World in Jackson, MS today met with a saleswoman who wanted all my information. I did not want to give my information as I hadn't seen what they had in stock yet. She then asked what price range I was looking at I then told her I did not know yet. She did not say a word, just got up and went to her managers office. So I got up and left. I mean a sales person is supposed to work some. I sent an email with a complaint but they did not get back to us, and I did not really expect them too. Anyway we are in the market to buy and we will not be buying from them their loss, and I will tell everyone I know to skip that stop.

Horrible buying experience and service…

Horrible buying experience and service experience. I am upset that I wasn’t allowed to give them 0 stars for this review.

In May 2025, I went to the Swedesboro, NJ location to see motorhomes because I have always wanted to buy one, and planned on buying one the start of the summer. I was rushed through the RVs on their lot, and I had to ask to see some multiple times because I wasn’t shown a number of them. I felt as though they did not want my business or did not have time for me. After being rushed through the RVs on the lot, I was taken to the front sales office and asked if I wanted to buy one of the ones I liked. The salesperson was rude, condescending, and very pushy to make a sale the entire time. I told them I wasn’t buying that day because I had a few places that I wanted to visit before making a decision. This is why I think that I wasn’t made to feel welcome from the very start.

Next, he asked me questions about how much I wanted to put down, finance, etc… I said I am not at that point and that I plan to pay cash or use financing that I already secured. I asked them their interest rate and would use Camping World’s financing if it was better. They wouldn’t give me a rate and wanted to run my credit. I told them I just want some info on what the rate I could expect given my credit score and not to run a credit application because I am either paying cash or using financing that I already secured.

They were dismissive, condescending, arrogant, and did not treat me with any respect as a first time buyer.

It was so bad of an experience that I travelled over 900 miles to a Campers Inn RV in Naperville, Illinois to buy my motorhome and drive it back home.

I decided to give Camping World one more chance to win my business since they are close, have many locations, and I will need service on my RV at some point. I had a few upgrades that I wanted to make and a couple of issues that needed to be fixed that are under warranty. I got estimates and setup an appointment. I called the day before my appointment to confirm that the parts are there because they needed to order some, and confirm my time of the appointment. No one returned my call that day or replied to my email. I called the next day soon as they opened, the day of the appointment, and they told me I wasn’t on the schedule. I was very frustrated and upset because I almost drove all the way there and scheduled my trip with this appointment in my calendar and setup weeks in advance. Again, they made me feel like I am the person that was confused and mistaken, and that I was dumb. I emailed them to show my calendar appointment and the day it was created weeks in advance, and they told me that I was mistaken. I spoke to managers and the GM who kept telling me there was a confusion. When I said there was no confusion on my end, and asked him to be clear on who was confused, he said that I was confused.

The Camping World of Swedesboro, NJ is absolutely horrible, not managed well, and has horrible customer service. They have no accountability, treat the customer like the customer is the person that is wrong and stupid, and have no idea how to treat customers.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Stay away from this place unless you hate yourself and want to be treated badly.

The ABSOLUTE WORST RV service EVER!

The ABSOLUTE WORST RV service EVER!! They have had our RV over 4 months. They have told us it was fixed only to drive 100 miles planning to take it on vacation for it to be not fixed and torn apart and trashed from the workers. They have lied to us repeatedly about what action is being taken. If you value your sanity DO NOT deal with them at all.

Not sure where to start

Not sure where to start. Salesman was great but it went down hill after that. Went through the walk around before picking it up nothing had been fixed as we discussed propane was leaking trailer was filthy and they couldn't even was it. Was so frustrated to it anyway as it was late and I didn't want to make a second trip. Trailer was purchased in May and I have yet to receive any kind of registration. Can't even use it unless I just want to chance getting stopped. Will never recommend their store to anyone!!

The worst experience ever buying an RV

The worst experience ever buying an RV. I bought a Coleman 17R, did a lot of research, was super excited!
It was at an RV show at Angel of the Winds. That itself was horrible but after walking away, a nice finance guy stopped me and I bought it. After numerous calls and a payment later I finally get to pick up my trailer. Camping world staff were beyond rude, nobody wanted to help me. I finally get to tour it and shown all the ins and outs, the mechanic was super helpful. I go to hook up and there is no pin for the hitch I try unsuccessfully to ask for one, finally a finance guy helps me and gets me one. Oh and he gave it to me instead of me having to buy it seriously?!? but was nice of him. He also assisted me getting out the bay, which was nice. My plates arrived after my temp plates expired. No surprise there. I went to get ready for my first trip and I couldnt get the tube open to put my new poop hose in. My son took it off and noticed that there was sand all over the underneath of the RV. OMG!!! Seriously? I highly recommend you go somewhere else to buy an RV. Camping world was the worst experience for me!!!

I needed a place to stay so I went to…camping world in Murfreesboro

I needed a place to stay so I went to camping world. Overpriced but that was on me for being stupid with an 830 credit rating. But the forest river camper wasn’t worth what I paid. When you live in one you see the flaws. I’ve had younger people tell me they got a better interest rate with less credit. Don’t recommend camping world or forest river campers

Online website is a scam - they do not accept returns, even on defective products

This is the first and last time I will purchase anything from Camping World. I bought a $1800 brand new Norcold RV refrigerator/freezer from their online website. It took two weeks to finally be delivered, and then once it finally arrived, it was completely nonfunctional. Would not turn on at all. When I contacted Camping World they advised me that because I bought it online, they are not responsible for ANYTHING after it's delivered, even if it's a defective item. It's now on me to find a shop that does warranty repair work on Norcold products, take the unit there, and hope they can fix it or replace it. The shops I have contacted advised me that I will likely have to pay a diagnostic fee that may or may not be reimbursed by Norcold. (Contacting Norcold can only be done via online chat and that is its own complete time-suck but that is a story for another time).

The Camping World rep told me that they do not accept returns on installed products. I said it was never installed, it simply was plugged in and it doesn't turn on at all. She said that as soon as the box is open and/or the item is plugged in, it's considered "installed". They insist that buying products from their website is completely separate from buying things from their brick-and-mortar stores and refuse to accept the return of the defective item even if I physically bring it to them at a store. TL;DR: Do NOT buy anything from Camping World online.

Not sure if they really want to sell RVs

After almost 10 days of repeatedly hearing finance has been approved the goal posts suddenly started to be moved further back. I was prepared to pay the required 10% deposit for a used class "C" and Camping World said they would arrange the financing. Then on the day I was to pay the deposit and sign the papers I was suddenly told - no mention of the earlier, I needed to get a co-signer. My father who is well to do and has great credit agreed to co-sign the loan. Again arrangements were made to come in and sign the papers and pay the deposit, today (8/11). At around 10:00 am, I am on my way to pick up my father, even though I was told arrangements could be made for the store to bring the papers to his house for him to sign, this was never offered again. I asked if we could go to the Wilsonville store, but again I was told this couldn't be arranged. So I went to pick up my father to take him to the Woodland store but then around 4:00 pm, after waiting since 10:00 am I was called and told due to the poor condition of the RV I wanted to trade in the deposit would have to be increased - increased to an amount I could no longer afford. I am still at a loss why it took the finance manager 10 days to assess the rig I wanted to trade in. On top of this the other staff, and myself had agreed on a trade in price what changed?

Anyway, this was to be the second time I was going to buy an RV from Camping World but after this expierence I will not consider Camping World again. By the way, when we unloaded the trade in RV I noticed there is still no electricity to the coach area even though I was assured it had been repaired and I paid $3500 for the repairs and it has been in the shop since January.

Bought a 2025 pioneer from camping…

Bought a 2025 pioneer from camping world in Boyertown PA. Ended up paying $8000 over listed price. Paid to have back up and side cameras installed. Showed up to pick it up and no side cameras installed. They put them on while I was signing paper work.......Guess what wrong cameras did not work with the monitor. While going thru my $1400 walk thru I asked several times to show me how the cameras work. The guy said he would and the monitor was in the box on the front seat. This is my first RV so I was overwhelmed. Needless to say driving home I reached over to get the monitor it was not there. I pulled into a rest stop after calling my sales guy who never returned my call. Monitor was inside RV in a cabinet because they knew they installed the wrong cameras that didn't work. I called and they sent me the new cameras and when having a mechanic try to install them the crappy job they did caused a short and killed my van battery. Do not buy from here as they never called me back when I called several times trying to get them to fix what they broke on my brand new RV

Bought 2025 Thor Freedom Traveler last…

Bought 2025 Thor Freedom Traveler last July. There is something wrong with the cable bringing service to the 3 TV's. Took it back 3 times and was advised that they could not hook up the RV to cable to diagnose.

I contacted Thor directly and they indicated there was probably a crimp in the cable somewhere in the walls of the RV and easiest solution would be to have the salesperson from Camping World contact them and they will send and HDMI Wireless Router. Magically now they say they will hook up and diagnose before they approve any warranty purchases. It is a 4 hour round trip that I've already made 3 times. I will purchase the router on my own and hopefully problem resolved. We went to Camping World for Thor. We had purchased a used Thor and liked it. Would not recommend working with Camping World

Customer Service is superior

Customer Service is superior. on two different occasions we had emergency situations as we are traveling on our very first RV road trip. Traveling from Tampa to Hiawassee GA. First experience came in Byron GA. We were caught in a rainstorm and one of our windshield wipers came off. Luckly for us there was a camping world right off I75. We stopped right at closing time but that did not stop the courteous staff from trying to assist us. They went so far as grabbing one of the repair techs names Sid ( Sydney) as he was walking out the door heading home. Without hesitation he walked over to the RV and reviewed the situation. Saw that he did have the parts required to replace my wiper at Camping World. He improvised and found a way to secure my wipers with tie wraps, not only did it work but we are keeping the tie wraps on to prevent future losses. When we arrived at our site we explained our experience and how Sid came to our rescue after his word day was over. Other RV owners were so impressed that they too have secured their wipers with tie wraps as this seems to be a common issue with them flying off. In addition to this Sid noticed i was towing my Ford Bronco and that my lights and signals were not working properly. He quickly reviewed and adjusted my cables and just like that we now had break lights and blinkers. He was so concerned for our safety that he went the extra mile. Sid me and my family would like to personally say THANK YOU!!!!!!

#2 Oakwood Camping World 3 days later.
We had stopped to see family and stored our Class A in a storage facility. While showing our new RV to family we put our slides out. Our big slide was stuck and would not move, we had to manually push it in. We were on a tight schedule and due to be in our site at Hiawassee the next day with no time to spare. We called Camping World that night left a voicemail, early the next morning received a call from Russ (Russell Ash), explained the situation and the urgency. He immediately said what time can you be here, we got you. Several hours later we arrived at Oakwood GA, Camping World and was greeted by friendly staff. Immediately Russ yelled out my name as if he knew me from years ago. Made me feel right at home. Went outside and did a complete walkthrough with me Outside and Inside in the rain. Saw a few things that were concerning like the back up camera and tire pressure. Russ made sure all of these items were reviewed by a tech and went the extra mile to go back outside with me in the rain to show and explain everything that was reviewed. Within 3 hours of dropping off our Class A, we were able to safely get on the road and head up the mountains to Hiawassee due to Camping World staff that go above and beyond their normal duties.....

Camping World

Camping World - Richmond IN

I recommend going elsewhere for camper repairs. I bought a brand-new Forest River at CW. On the first trip I found intermittent problems with hot water heater. It worked occasionally and the other times there were miserable cold showers.

I brought the camper here with the problem and they indicated they could not replicate it. Essentially, unwilling to take my word for it.

I went on the second trip; same problem. This time however, I took a short video showing the E1 error code and squawk from the thermostat.

Second trip to CW service dept and they accepted that I had a problem and decided to change the thermostat even though I explained my AI search indicated the problem cause elsewhere.

Third trip with the camper and the same miserable cold showers. Back to CW with new time stamp videos and they continued to ignore the AI recommendation and decided the problem was caused by the propane tank and the gauge on the tank. I was on the second propane tank by this time and added the gauge with the second tank. Since the problem occurred before and after, their suggested solution was incorrect again.

Spoke to the manager and explained how they were sending me away AGAIN with a broken camper and he couldn’t give a sh*t. Bottom line, nobody in the service dept cared. I suggest you take your camper elsewhere for repairs.

ordered a $40 accessory from their web site. No feedback on when it would ship. Called two days later. they said 7 to 10 days to ship. I said cancel. They didn't. I bought elsewhere, got in 2 days. CW'S item also showed up. They didn't cancel and no satisfaction trying to return it still in the box. Their order fulfillment process is horrible, Cust service worse.

Stay clear of them

We attempted to purchase a used 5th wheel from one of the Camping World locations in the mid west recently. Everything seemed fine initially and the RV itself looked really nice but as we were doing everything virtually we were relying on their salesman for his opinion and a video tour. The salesman seemed honest and helpful enough until we suddenly received a sales quote from him that arrived way too fast if you catch my drift.
That's where our experience in purchasing RV's kicked in and because we had done our homework researching Camping World, basically as we had no idea (they are an American company) who they were this gave us the extra knowledge to make our decision.
The Reviews we read on this site were eye opening and very helpful. One in particular really helped us out. The noted poster detailed all of the hidden fees and costs associated in dealing with Camping World and they matched the quote we received.
Ridiculous added costs like Prep, new batteries with a holder, all kinds of additonal fees, incl. licencing, title, and documentation. I questioned all of these costs with the salesperson and he became rather defensive and then started in with the high pressure tactics. We had told him we were in no rush but within less than 24 hours we were getting hit with a ridiculous quote that made no sense.
They added in a MSRP price in the quote that was no where to be found on their website and then tried to sell us on the fact their listed price was being heavily discounted from the immaginarty MSRP price that we were no shown. I was astounded by this practice. I had never experienced any dealership of any kind that attempted to suggest a used/pre-owned RV had a MSRP attached to it. One that was no where to be found on their website or with the RV ad.
That's when we walked away. Be very wary of this company and thier hidden costs and fees and high pressure sales.

Sold Us a Faulty RV – Then Ignored Us

We purchased our RV from Camping World – Myrtle Beach on Saturday, July 27, 2025, with Abe as our salesperson. Within 48 hours, we discovered two major issues:

The generator shuts off after about 15 minutes of use

The bathroom exhaust fan does not work at all

We immediately contacted Camping World to report the problems. Instead of being met with concern or urgency, we were pushed off repeatedly. When we finally insisted on answers, they blew us off entirely—no offer to repair, no apology, no accountability.

We are full-time RV residents, so these issues aren’t just inconvenient—they're disruptive to daily living and a safety concern. The RV was advertised as “camping ready,” but clearly wasn’t inspected or tested properly before delivery.

This has been one of the most frustrating customer service experiences we've ever dealt with. We paid a premium price expecting quality and support, and what we got was a defective product and total disregard.

Camping World talks a big game, but once the sale is made, they’re done with you. Buyers beware: If something’s wrong with your RV, don’t expect them to stand behind it.
