Worst, most deceitful and unhelpful company I have ever encountered

I too have found this company to be absolutely the worst I have experienced.

I was persuaded by a seller in Rosengaard centre in Odense to get a TV-box from Canal Digital, since then I could see Eurosport and Eurosport 2.

He swore that I would be able to see everything I was able to see on my tv-box from YouSee. I only saw Murdoch Mysteries from TV2 Charlie and I saw them from the archive, i.e. recorded episodes, since they sent the series at 5 and 6 in the morning and I couldn't get up that early.

But when I got the box it turned out that they didn't have this series in their archive so I couldn't see it. It was the only series I wanted to see, I also wanted to see news and text TV.

When I wrote to Canal Digital they replied and admitted that there were several series which they did not have the rights to, including Murdoch Mysteries, I confronted the seller with this and he said he hadn't known about that. Is it reasonable that the sellers are ignorant about what the tv-box can and can't offer?

Also when I tried to get out of the arrangement I was informed that there was a 6-months' binding. The seller had said that the first three months were free but had said nothing about being bound for six months so I couldn't get out of it.

The firm said I had to complain to them, but when I did this my complaint was rejected.

On the second day when I came home, the TV box did not work. Nothing I did helped. So I only got to see a little news for one day. The text TV didn't work, though they said it would come later. However, later the box did not work.

I got a new box from YouSee but was not allowed to return the Canal Digital box. It is packed away since it was useless and had stopped working.

Also, I have not been told how much unlawful money they plan to take from my account, and how long will they do so?

If Canal Digital replies to this review, please tell me how much you plan to deduct from me.

To sum up, the faults/illegalities of this company were as follows:

1) Lured to buy the tv-box based on false information about what could be seen in the archive
2) Not told about 6 month-binding
3) Tv-box stopped working after one day

I am sorry to hear that you feel lured into subscribing to Canal Digital. Our top priority is to match our customers needs within our guidelines and system access. It is a duty to inform potential customers about the content and features included in the subscription. I'm sorry if the information was conveyed in such a way that it was to be misunderstood.

It is indeed very unfortunate that Murdoch Mysteries is broadcasted in such an early time frame on TV2 Charlie. We unfortunately do not have rights to make series and other programmes from DR or TV2 channels available on our TV archive.

We definitely want to find a solution that can give you the features and access that you want. I assume that you haven't gotten a satellite dish installed since you cannot access Text TV. I can inform you that with such an installation, you could gain access to the Text TV feature. With a harddisc for the TV-box you could record the Murdoch Mysteries to watch later on, since it's broadcasted so early in the morning.

Manipulative sales!

I have to say, that this company is just really the most manipulative company that I have encountered in the last 13 years! No matter what they offer, you should know that over 50 % of what they offer on the phone has hidden prices and they don't tell you about it when they sell you the product. They also will not tell you your rights and possibilities that you have, when you agree to buy something. F.ex they do NOT tell you, that the moment you have activated your online account, you are bound to 6 months of deal and cannot get out of it. But, you will not really know what you got in your package, until you log in. They even encourage you to logg in as soon as you have hang up the phone with them! It is a twisted circle that they use to lock people in 6 months of paying for something they were lied about that they will get! A nice - Thank you, but not interested- and hang up the phone right away, will save you lots of stress, money and you will not feel like a fool, when you realize that they lied and manipulated you!

AND, you cannot complain! YAY!!! Isn't that AWESOME :-D!?
You can only complain to naevneneshus.dk, if the product costs more than 800 kr!

I say, keep away from another capibeast (Capitalistic Beast) :-)

I am very sorry to hear that you have had a bad experience with us.

I have come across this kind of misunderstanding between a costumer and a salesman before. I know that some of our sellers present an average monthly price that applies in the minimum period of 6 months. If you are offered a two month free period, they will divide the remaining price out on 6 months, which will add up with the average price per month during the 6 months.

This is true, but regarding your invoices, you will not be charged the first two months. The remaining time, you will be charged with the normal price of the TV-package. The price is still the same as offered, but appears a little different, and can therefore cause confusion.

As for the cancellation of the subscription, the binding agreement starts from the moment your equipment has been installed in your home, not from the moment you sign in on our website.

I am sorry if this has not been communicated in a better way, so that you understood your rights from the begining.

I found your subscription in our system. I understand the confusion about the PPV charges on your bill, but I will do my best attempt to explain it to you.

When the seller placed an order on you, he accidentally started 2 different subscriptions. Obviously, we had to close one of the subscription, so we closed the subscription that didn't contain your TV-boxes. The problem was, that the subscription we closed had 8 rental movies registered, which we needed to charge you for. My colleague therefore entered the 8 PPV Events on your current subscription. PPV stands for Pay Per View.

The PPV's on your bill are the movies you rented.

They sold me a three-legged goat

I changed from Yousee to Canal Digital a few weeks ago, because I want to watch the big football leagues, especially La Liga. This I told the CD-salesmen (talked to several) and of course, they understood completely! Now, quite by chance, I hear, that the "Sportspakke" with TV2 Xtra will not be delivered from the start in January 4 (if at all!), to all the CD-customers (including me), who receive their signal through internet. They knew perfectly well that this was so in my case, but Canal Digital chose to keep this a secret. I've been a satisfied customer for years (summerhouse), but this is genuine fraud. Yes...FRAUD. FRAUD

If I can give you "ZERO STAR" for your service - I will gladly do that! I pay kr. 792,75 every month for a FULL PACKAGE with Canal Digital and all I now get is a BLACK SCREEN and other canals that I am NOT INTERESTED in. My job is to ensure full payment to CANAL DIGITAL in a timely manner - Your job is to ensure that I get what I have paid for! Anything else is a FRAUD - In a criminal court you will not only need to refund my payment but have to pay compensation to me for NOT honouring your part of our contract. I have instructed my lawyer to look into this matter. I look forward to receiving a response from Canal Digital. Yours sincerely / A VERY UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER

We are terribly sorry, that our customers have not been able to watch the channels produced by Discovery.

The reason is, that we were to renew our agreement with Discovery per the 1st of Febuary. But the price that was demanded for their channels, were simply too high for us to accept, since it would have meant that our customers were going to have to pay a lot more for the packages. For that reason we chose to keep on negotiating, in hope that we could get a better agreement. But meanwhile we were not allowed to distribute the channels.

I am happy to tell you, that we now have a new agreement, and that the channels are back in action. While the channels were missing, we chose to compensate our customers with access to other content. In your case we have given you access to 10 free movies on our streaming service GO, which have a value up to 499 DKK. We have furthermore decided, that our customers will keep access to the compensation for the rest of Feburary.

I can see that you have our HD Entertain Center receiver, so you should definitely be able to record the programmes you want, from any of the channels in your subscription.

You should be able to record, by either pressing the record button on the remote control, when you are watching what you want to record.

You can also program an recording using the TV-Guide, this way you can program recordings about af week ahead.

A Large Variety of Channels

The picture quality is perfect and there are quite a lot of film channels, and that pleases me.
What I would like to see are the Swedish and Norwegian channels, they are more up to date with British thrillers unlike Denmark who insult the viewer with extremely old series.To receive these I have to subscribe to YouSee, more expense.
For some reason here in Assens at my address I cannot receive the rentals, the streaming is terrible.

Hvis jeg forstår dig korrekt, så synes du det er et minus med vores sports kanaler, men at vi ellers er OK.

Jeg kan se at du abonnerer på Family pakken, det er også den pakke som dækker bredest af dem alle, og derfor har den naturligvis også en del sports kanaler. TV2 Sport og Canal HD er med i alle vores programpakker, og så har den jo blandt andet også Eurosport 1 og 2, Motors TV mfl.
