The most ridiculous experience of my life. I am basically living without hot water and heating because they can’t do their job! To avoid!!!
They treat renters with disdain. I had a terrible experience with rude inspections, and even unapproved ones. On one occasion, my property was left unlocked! When leaving after 7 years of issue-free renting (on my side), they also attempted a cash grab.
I am fortunate enough to be in a financial position to push back against such practices, but I worry they may bully other tenants who are not in such a privileged position.
Cannon estates is the worst real estate agent to deal with. First of all they’ll lure you into paying holding deposit and then find a way to frustrate you through the process just so that you will back off and they’ll hold on to your holding deposit and use same trick on other people. Please don’t rent through them.
They are not straight forward, please do not deal with them. They have hidden charges and won’t tell you about it until you pay holding deposit, then they’ll send you a tenancy agreement with unfavorable conditions and insist you sign or loose your deposit.
Do not trust this business if you are a tenant that expects to receive their deposit back when vacating a property.
(I moved out a month ago and they have nothing to help me get any part of my deposit back.)
As I was made redundant 6 months ago, this is even worse for me than it would be in normal times & they are aware of this.
Since this business rebranded from Cain and Fuller lettings, the support for tenants has drastically reduced.
There is a clear conflict of interest, as they have been marketing the property for sale for some months.
Yet despite it being in a very desirable cotswold village, it hasn’t yet sold. (no doubt due to overall condition, having been a rental property for some time.)
So their interest is in making commission from a sale, not in helping a loyal tenant, now in an unfortunate situation.
