Bought a canon pixma MG 3660 printer. Couldn’t connect to my wireless service so rang and after a bit the guy hung up. Went into online chat and explained all circumstances and was directed to a help service that cost more per month than the printer had cost. Couldn’t get back into chat. Useless. I’ll prefer another bran

I thought I bought an easy to use printer

I bought an easy printer - I print about 10 pages a month. Everytime I try to use it, it stops, normally mid document. I spend an hour on ChatGPT to get it working again, and again, and again. I'm so over it.

The app always says it's offline....it's not.
Now my Mac can't even find it as an option.

It was a $200 printer but its cost me about 10 hours of my life.

Took it to Melbourne Canon service centre & recieved it back in the mail a bit over two weeks later, fully repaired, serviced & cleaned at no charge. Brilliant warranty & reasonably fast turnaround.

Give Canon a Miss

I purchased a Canon Camera thinking big brand big support how wrong was I. Sent for a warranty repair and after 2 weeks still waiting for an update. No service or repair anywhere in Australia other than Melbourne. They don't care how long it takes or what you say. My advise to anyone reading this is buy a Sony or Nikon or anything but put Canon at the bottom of your list. The camera is good but the after sales service is the worst I have come across in Australia. Give Canon anything a big miss if you want after sales support.

My Canon printer died when the power…

My Canon printer died when the power went out during cyclone Alfred. Even though it was connected to a power surge device it still returned a fatal error when the power returned.

I contacted Canon to attempt to resolve Error 6800 but no joy and no local Canon service was available. As I believe the printer was less than 2 years old I searched for the original receipt to no avail. Canon's only suggestion in lieu of the original receipt is to produce a stat declaration that needs a JP to witness. I registered the printer when I purchased it but Canon says they have no access to the registration... I don't understand why not?? Surely they can look up their records and find the registration.

I suggested this on several responses to their emails but got nowhere. I just get automated responses telling me they will close the job I raised and assume it has been resolved. IT HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED! Canon your customer service is NOT service... it's a pathetic waste of my time!

Canon TS5100 - my experience

Poorly designed - you have to almost snap the paper return arm to extend it as there is not enough clearance to the tiltable control panel (I anticipate it will ultimately snap). Seems to have software issues too as it does not stay connected to my laptop (and constantly troubleshooting the issues with this printer is time-consuming). All in all I would not recommend this product and based on my experience am unlikely to buy another Canon printer product.

Dishonest and untrustworthy company.

Dishonest and untrustworthy company.

I purchased a camera that included a cash back promotion. I lodged the application within the eligibility period with the required documentation to prove the purchase. I received confirmation that they had received the claim.
Two months later, I am still chasing up with Canon Australia as to the whereabouts of the promised cashback. A half dozen emails apologising for "the inconvenience caused" and that the letter had been posted and should be received this week.
This has been promised multiple times, all with no result.

I'm a professional photographer and…

I'm a professional photographer and recently sent my 2 year old 6Dmii to Canon Australia in Sydney, via JB Hi fi (the camera was under a full 5 year warranty), as the LCD screen had stopped functioning. The camera was never damaged, dropped, and externally it was in perfect condition. To my horror, the Canon repair staff damaged the AF on button with what appeared to be a screwdriver slash and blamed me. Then, when they couldn't blame me, they blamed staff at JB Hi Fi. They claimed a tiny spilt across the AF on button, was due to it being dropped by me, or staff who packed and sent it. If it had a spilt, prior to sending the camera, staff at JB and myself, would have seen and documented this. A screwdriver-sized split across the AF on button, would be hard to do via dropping, as this part of the camera doesn't connect with the ground if it were dropped. Also, this wouldn't have caused the LCD screen to completely malfunction. So, JB staff were blamed and forced to pay for it (over $500). When my camera was returned from Canon repairs, they had replaced the entire front with a second hand shell. It is worn and looks dreadful, very much unlike the casing it was prior to repair; it isn't black now, it's grey from use, and certainly not my casing. Thanks for nothing Canon. I'll be buying Nikon or Sony from now on.

PIXMA printer is crap.

PIXMA printer is crap.
Just wasted 2 hours trying to get it to print but it keeps on getting hooked on error 2116. I thought I upgraded from my Epson - yeah it was cheap but the Canon was expensive with the same kind of cheap crap settings and complicated stuff that's impossible to trouble shoot. ARRGGGHHH if I could ring someones neck now I would. This is pathetic, feels like a scam - sell crappy printers using Canon camera brand name.
I will never buy another Canon product and will discourage anybody I know from doing so.

If I could give less than 1* I would

If I could give less than 1* I would - less than one monthd old printer broken - hours on the phone, videos/photos taken - told I would receive a refund letter within 24-48 hours - nothing. Just called again to be told there is a 'system upgrade' taking place and that I will receive my letter in 2+ weeks! Staff on the phone are abrupt and dismissive. Once I get my refund I will never buy another Canon product again!

I have purchased a new Canon printer and followed the steps
to set it up. The provided link to follow is hacked to scam purchasers.
After sending no less than 6 emails to Canon still no contact has been received.

If I could put minus 100 I would

If I could put minus 100 I would. Absoloutely disgusting and unprofessional customer service. I was tricked by Judy in customer service to disabling my wifi on my devices by downloading a cannon app that would allow to print only when offline because they couldnt get my printer online. Spent 3.5 hours on the phone to canon and then optus to get my wifi back. I will never buy another Canon product ever

Canon Pixma Home Office TR4660.
Poor quality printingI bought this printer about 2 weeks ago. It is by far the worst printer I have owned in approximately 40 years of using computers and printers. The colour prints (on plain and photo paper) lack density and appear faded and have no clarity. There does not appear to be a feature to adjust the darkness or lightness of your prints. I would think twice about buying this printer if colour printing is important to you. I contacted Canon who advised me to only use Canon Photo paper for photos.

Canon Printer Scam

On 5/12/2022 I purchased and installed a new Canon printer. Unknown to me, there was a scam involving new printer customers at the time. Canon was definitely aware of this scam and they produced a report entitled "How to Protect Yourself from Printer Set up Cybercrime" dated 28th April, 2021. Basically, Canon customers setting up their new printer are directed to a fake Canon printer set up URL. I was scammed out of $250. Canon state that they will support customers who become affected by this criminal cyber activity. I reported my experience on 5/12/22 and got no response. I called Canon again on about 10/1/23 and was told that the case had been referred to management. I called again on 3/4/2023 and got the same response. I called again on 8/5/2023 and was told that a manager had called my mobile in early April but got no answer. Possible but unlikely as there wasn't any message left and no unknown callers had rung me either. On 11/10/2023 I called yet again to be told exactly the same stuff I was told earlier in 2023. And you guessed it, the case would be upgraded and somebody will call or email me. It is obvious that Canon doesn't give a hoot about printer customers. There is nothing wrong with the printer, it works just fine, it's just that Canon's customer service is non-existent so far, worthless in fact. I know that I am not the only Canon user who has experienced this scam and has waited about 10 months for some sort of contact and some sort of help from Canon.

Like replacing a car because the ash-tray is full

The rubber dust cover for the USB connection (to my computer) on my Canon IXUS 180 camera has deteriorated and broken. Asked where I can get a replacement and what is the part name. Was told "no replacement and we will sell you a new one, that is your only option". To scrap a perfectly good camera because of a design fault with no function but to stop dust entering the camera body is like changing your car because the ash-tray is full. Why does Canon want to add to land-fill by producing products that fail for trivial reasons?
