I’ve been a loyal customer since 2024 of Capital One 360 checking account. At first it was problem free. Then I started getting notifications about unauthorized accesses to my account. Incoming transfers were being blocked and my Zelle was restricted. Then I was told they had trouble identifying me after I each requested for of identification requested. I had lost access to my account couple times cause they blocked my login access. But when I log in finally there’s unauthorized purchases in my account and transfers. Which I was penalized for despite me being locked out my own account. I applied for a credit card , I was approved with no issue and then they mailed and activated my card with no problem. Then randomly few days later it says restricted credit card account. & the card was deactivated. Then I reach out and I’m told they chose to end their banking relationship with me due to account activity against their policies , which they allowed to happen on my account by the way unauthorized. Now I’m losing my Discover bank which I been a loyal customer since 2017 because they merged with Capital One. I was told it was a business decision that can’t be overturned due to previous activity at Capital One. Both Capital One and Discover Bank failed me as a customer. I only deal with other strictly Digital banks now unlike those two. I don’t recommend them.

More of the corruption that's…

More of the corruption that's destroying AMERICA! Pretending to send out card's, saying they're in the mail, but they're not. You gotta call in to finish the application process which isn't the problem, it's them not being honest about it, and saying call in to verify your ID,SSN.... had me sitting around thinking the card was going to come in the mail but it never showed up I decided to call today September 5th to find out what's going on and if they can send me another card that's when he started asking me for additional information to prove who I am I started to give him the information and then I stopped because I figured if I had received the card in the mail already I wouldn't have to go through all of this so I asked if that was the case if I received a card in the mail already would I have to do this he said no so I said well I'm not going to do it now then just send me another card you sitting here looking at all the information I've given you my social security number my phone number and now you want a copy of my ID it's too much!!! If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would, capital one said if I make a cash payment, the funds would be available immediately and come to find out I made a cash payment and still had to wait another 14 days for my funds. They give false information.

★ 1 STAR

★ 1 STAR — CAPITAL ONE’S CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ABSOLUTELY PISS POOR

I genuinely cannot believe how badly Capital One has handled what should be a basic banking issue.

This is the SECOND TIME IN A MONTH AND A HALF that I have been left without a debit card because of fraud that Capital One FAILED TO CATCH.

Let that sink in.

Your customer’s card information gets compromised, Capital One doesn’t catch the fraudulent activity, and then somehow THE CUSTOMER is the one left paying the price for it.

Now, because of Capital One’s “policy,” they are closing the account — fine. If that is your policy, then YOU need to have a competent system in place to make sure your customer still has access to their own money while you deal with the situation.

But apparently that is asking too much.

Capital One WILL NOT OVERNIGHT A DEBIT CARD. Not because it is impossible. Not because there is no way to get a card delivered quickly. Because they simply won’t do it.

Holiday weekend? Nope.
Regular weekday? Nope.
Weekend? Nope.
Urgent situation caused by FRAUD? Still nope.

So here I am, once again, with NO DEBIT CARD AND LIMITED ACCESS TO MY OWN DAMN MONEY because of a problem that Capital One failed to prevent and then failed to resolve in any reasonable way.

And let’s talk about the lack of physical bank branches. When you have an urgent banking problem, there is NOWHERE TO WALK INTO AND SPEAK TO SOMEONE FACE-TO-FACE. You’re stuck calling customer service and explaining the same situation over and over while representatives hide behind “policy” instead of actually helping solve the problem.

I understand that fraud happens. What I do NOT understand is how a bank can fail to detect the fraud, inconvenience the customer repeatedly, close the account, and then essentially say, “Sorry, you’ll just have to wait for your card.”

THIS IS MY MONEY.

I should not have to beg a bank to give me reasonable access to my own funds because THEIR fraud prevention and customer service processes failed.

The entire experience has been unbelievably frustrating, inconvenient, and infuriating. A bank is supposed to provide security, reliability, and access to your money. Capital One has managed to make me feel like I have none of the three.

If you are considering Capital One, think very carefully about what happens when something goes wrong. Because when everything is working, opening an account is easy. It’s when you actually NEED the bank to help you that you find out how little urgency they have for their customers.

Capital One: do better. Your customers should not have to suffer the consequences of your failures

Lounge experience

Lounge experience. A wait time that made using the capital one club impractical. No reservations possible. As for the Priority Pass benefit, long waits, and at least one dingy lounge in a dingy hallway. Not a premium experience and not a useful feature.

Discover card no longer useful

Always liked Discover. Since C1 took over, have had nothing but problems. My wife and I have joint account and they issued her a card in her name with a different account number (when I called they said this was normal). This meant changing all the places in her name that automatically charge "subscription" things to credit card. Just as soon as got that done, she tried to charge something at an online site she's done numerous time. Immediately popped up with having to confirm transaction via text. Only gave my cell number which wasn't helpful to her. Discover would previously call house phone (no text) in such rare situations. Apparently C1 does it for just about any online transaction. I wasn't available so she couldn't make purchase as couldn't get code. She called C1 and after being transferred around for over an hour, they basically said "sorry, this is how our system works, we can't disable the text". How can they not know a joint account might have a cell phone not accessible to another person. They gave us zero other options. I've noticed other online transactions I've tried to make they ALWAYS do this text thing and only ask for that same one number. Online profile has no place to put 2nd mobile number. Saw our home phone in there but apparently that's not used and adding her cell to "work" didn't help. What good is a joint card if one person can hardly ever use it online????

From my experience

From my experience, this is one of the worst credit cards that you could have. The most consumer unfriendly card that you could have. Me and my wife both have Capital One cards had them over seven years. She has received eight credit Line increases while I’ve received zero. When I called to get an explanation. There’s just a lame explanation that makes no sense. Not sure what parameters this company uses to decide how they treat their customers but for a customer that had been with them for seven years never missed a payment to have to ride with a 90% usage rate on the Card # for over five years because they wouldn’t increase the limit a little bit is unacceptable. It is a disgusting outfit and you don’t want to get involved with Capital One go elsewhere. There are much better cards that are much more consumer friendly. These people will hold you down when you’re at your lowest instead of helping you out as they should. I highly suggest not doing any business with Capital One.

Frustrated to get identified

It has been since June, I was asked to upload my driver's license and electric bill to verify my identity. I complied, but system loops or uncommunicative agents keep telling me to upload them repeatedly without any explanation I was told that a representative would call me to confirm my identity. However, when your agents call, as soon as I begin speaking with my accented/broken English, the phone is abruptly hung up on me. I am then forced to start the entire process over from the beginning.
Seeking a solution, I visited a Capital One Café. The agent was unable to assist with the upload and could only fix my ID details on file, leaving the core issue completely unresolved. Because of these communication barriers, I requested a Russian interpreter. While I was told "they will try," I have received no meaningful follow-up.
This situation has been ongoing for months, causing me severe stress and preventing me from using my account through no fault of my own. I have fully attempted to verify my identity multiple times. Now, my Discover card linked to Capital one , they still treat me as not identified, even all my information is on record

I have now been on the phone for hours…

I have now been on the phone for hours with Capital One as they purposely take me for a spin. They keep saying they have issues a credit when they have not. They have me send them a letter stating such and then tell me they have sided with me but that I have already been issued a credit, when in reality I have not. Awful customer experience

Receiving points is very deceptive

I recently started using the Capital One card for the points. What I found out is their practice to be a little deceptive they will give you an offer of four times or 10 times the point but then they expect you to wait 45 to 90 days to get those points. I spoke with a supervisor today who verified that that’s how it works and I asked her if she has that kind of time to check back 45 to 90 days and she kind of laughed I will be looking for a new card to get my points and to get my rewards. I find their practice to be very deceptive and not consumer friendly.

A STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF CAPITAL ONE…

A STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF CAPITAL ONE CUSTOMER SERVICE — AND THE RESULTS ARE NOT ENCOURAGING.

Let’s walk through this very carefully, because apparently this requires a level of investigation normally reserved for a congressional hearing.

I have been a Capital One customer for years. My existing card has been in perfect standing.

I recently applied for a Capital One business card.

Approved.

So far, so good.

Then, the very next day, I receive a phone call from a number that is not associated with my Capital One account, and the person begins asking me for financial information.

Now, I'm not a banking expert, but I do understand one basic principle:

When something looks suspicious, you don't hand over your financial information.

So I hung up.

I then did the responsible thing and called Capital One directly using the official phone number.

I explained exactly what happened and asked a very simple question:

“Was this call legitimate?”

The answer?

They could neither confirm nor deny it.

Think about that for a moment.

I have a suspicious call asking for financial information, I call the actual bank, and the actual bank can't tell me whether the call came from them.

Excellent.

But we're not done.

The representative then hung up on me.

So I called back.

And that's when I discovered that all of my Capital One accounts had been restricted.

Apparently, because I questioned a suspicious phone call, the solution was to restrict access to my accounts.

I asked to speak with escalations.

Instead, I was told this was all part of Capital One's process for “protecting” my accounts.

Ladies and gentlemen, I believe we've identified the problem.

They protected my accounts from ME.

I was the customer.

I wasn't the fraudster.

I wasn't attempting to access someone else's account.

I wasn't asking them to bypass security.

I was trying to determine whether someone calling me for sensitive financial information was actually legitimate.

And somehow, I became the security threat.

Then I was told I would have to wait 3–4 HOURS before I could call back because the case was locked.

Three to four hours.

Apparently, Capital One has developed a revolutionary new security protocol:

Lock the customer out and tell them to call back later.

And yes, I made it very clear that if their actions result in late fees, missed payments, or other financial consequences, I expect Capital One to take responsibility for those consequences.

I was then told they needed to send me a link so I could provide additional documentation.

Fine.

But when I told the representative that I was recording the conversation and that I had just recorded them confirming that my accounts were restricted and that I would have to wait hours to resolve it, suddenly the conversation had to end because they did not consent to being recorded.

So let's summarize.

A suspicious call happens.

I hang up.

I call Capital One through their official number.

Capital One can't tell me whether the suspicious call was legitimate.

The representative hangs up on me.

I call back.

My accounts are now restricted.

I'm told to wait several hours.

I ask for escalation.

I'm told this is all being done to “protect” me.

And when I document what I'm being told, the conversation ends.

This is not what I would describe as confidence-inspiring banking.

If this is Capital One's definition of customer protection, I'd strongly recommend everyone take a very close look at how their security and customer-service procedures actually work.

Because based on my experience, the biggest threat to my Capital One accounts wasn't the suspicious caller.

It was Capital One's own customer-service process.

I'm now seriously reconsidering where I want my business.

Maybe I really should start my own credit-card company.

At least then, when a customer calls because they're concerned about fraud, I'd answer the damn question.

Who's with me? 😂

Poor Poor Poor (and frustrating)

Poor. Poor. Poor. You have to sit on the phone answering questions to a bot that have nothing to do with your issue, and then when you do get someone they can't help you because . . . well, I don't know. But for a major financial institution, this is as bad as it gets.

CAPITAL ONE- WHERE INCOPETENCE AND…

CAPITAL ONE- WHERE INCOPETENCE AND DISHONESTY MEET. I applied for and was approved for a Capital One credit card in June. As of September 2nd I have still not received my card (they claim I'll get it on 9/7), nor have I received any email or mail correspondence. My mortgage company requested to see a Statement or other document showing my account info. When I called Capital One, they confirmed my identity and stated they said they cannot and will not provide me or my bank any account info whatsoever, and that I must wait until receiving a card to find out what my minimum monthly payment is. I called again, and aother associated told me my min. monthly payment is $25, which I learned later on another phone call with them was false info. When I asked them to call my bank and explain the lack of requested paperwork to them, I was told that no one in Cap. One can make a outbound phone call under any circumstance, and that they will not speak to my lender. So, I allegedly have a credit card with this company though I lack an actual card, a card number, any email or letter explaing what card I have, or any pertinent info about the card.

SHAMEFUL SERVICE!!!!

SHAMEFUL SERVICE!!!!! I had a dispute with a subscription that I had cancelled and they started rebilling me 6 months later. 3 charges went through even with a BLOCK from C1 on the vendor. I was forced to close the C1 account as a result of them not blocking the vendor. They credited me only 2 of the 3 charges and charged me a late fee since I was waiting for the 3rd. charge to be credited (that's the only balance I had on the account). Now they are telling me that because I closed the account they won't credit the late fee or the 3rd. merchant credit. I am furious!! They are Thieves!! I will never have a Capital One account again! Horrible way to treat a great customer.

Capital One Quicksilver negative issues

I contacted Capital One Quicksilver account services to discuss payment arrangements for my account that was fraudulently accessed and compromised. The fraudulent person(s) emptied ALL of my checking, savings, maxed out credit cards, opened new accounts, etc. I've filed a police report, fraud activity with Wells Fargo (my acct), Social Security, and all three major credit reporting agencies. I asked Capital One Quicksilver assistance and they stated nothing they can do. So I cancelled my card. This is not a trustworthy, helpful company with the handling of these issues. DO NOT USE!!

They changed to the Discover network

They changed to the Discover network, so BEWARE YOUR CREDIT CARD WILL NOT WORK OUTSIDE THE USA. I live part time over seas and this has been a BIG PROBLEM. If you are traveling internationally, bring another card----best if its Visa or Mastercard. Since the change to Discover, I have now gone with the Wells Fargo Autograph Card and the Chase Sapphire Preferred (both of these cards have no foreign transaction fees and the Wells Fargo has no yearly fees)

Discover and now Crapital One

Previously Discover and now Crapital One. (Not misspelled) Had Discover 10+years and always offered 0% for 15 months in current balance or balance transfers. Crapital One …NOTHING. That’s the least they can do for new customers. After talking to Crapital One looks like I will go with another card and do a balance transfer tat offers way more than Crapital One. They will lose a lot of transferred accounts I am sure.
