Car Audio Direct Reviews 

I had been researching for ages on websites, visiting local outlets and phoning companies for information and prices. Just luck that I came across Car Audio Direct during a web search and in particular got to speak with Lee.

For the first time I had a meaningful conversation with someone who was not driven by what was the favoured manufacturer etc. and did not treat me like someone who had no any idea of what I wanted.

Lee most importantly listened carefully and patiently to what I had to say and about what I really wanted, which was a self-install project for my daughters Renault Clio, that gave her hands free phone; Bluetooth streaming and USB playback as well as improving the sound quality and providing Dab + capability.

Making sure that he had understood, he then went through the pros and cons of the equipment I had shortlisted, explaining each Head Units capability; particularly helpful in respect of the Android phone my daughter would be connecting.

From this I had a list of helpful and constructive suggestions about how to achieve my project, including installation tips and ancillary wiring kits needed to keep full functionality of the steering remote etc. that I would need to complete my install. I had a helpful email waiting for me, summarizing what we spoke about along with Hyperlinks to each component I needed for my install and the price.

I decided on the Kenwood KDS BT73DAB head unit which once my order was placed, Lee told me it would have been his choice as well, given what we discussed but I was under no pressure to choose a particular model or manufacturer.

By contrast a well-known supplier in Cardiff rubbished my shortlist in favour of one manufacturer and model, said that I was not capable of installing it as it was a skilled job and latterly I found out that they get the best price and therefore most profit on the particular model they wanted me to purchase!

Understandably, I chose Car Audio direct for my purchase and got a price on a top quality model which was the same as the model much lower down the range offered from local dealer spoken about above. Result!

It was delivered well protected and super-fast even though I didn’t pay for expedited delivery, my kit turned up next day which was a nice touch.

Since then I have emailed the company for advice regarding the wiring and other fitting related questions, I received an email back each time within minutes with really helpful tips and guidance.

That’s my experience of Car Audio Direct, I would without hesitation recommend this company if you want good advice from knowledgeable people, given without agendas and customer support that was always readily available.

Finally my thanks to Lee, who was throughout our several telephone and email conversations, professional, knowledgeable, patient and friendly. If it was my company, I would be paying him a bonus.

I am already planning my next install for my sons Car and yes I will go back to Car Audio Direct for my purchases.

I opted for an Ex Demo unit after being assured of the quality in an email exchange. I was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived the very next day and in superb condition for an Ex Demo unit. The box was a bit tatty but that's in the recycling bin now but the Pioneer unit is installed and working perfectly. I had one minor technical question which was answered promptly. Really pleased with the service offered and I'll be going back for sub woofer, speaker and amp upgrade before too much longer. Cheers!

I ordered a Pioneer patch lead so i could use my steering column with my new wiring harness. I used this company as they stated "dispatched within 24 hrs. I ordered the lead on a Friday at 13:30, I received an e-mail stating i would receive information of dispatch. By Wed the following week still no e-mail, when I contacted them they replied the next day (now Thursday) stating they would investigate, by Friday (a week later) i had emailed them again, on the Sat morning i received the "dispatched" e-mail. I know my item was only low cost but i was unable to install my new system without it. I will not be using this company again, nor would i recommend them.

Emailed with enquirers got a response very fast telling me everything I needed that met my requirements for my vehicle. All great prices and nothing way too expensive like most companies! Fitted all myself run in to a slight wiring problem quick email and a reply within 10mins with detailed instructions problem solved. Can't say enough about these guys!!! Fabulous.

Had an issue with the fitting of my Kenwood radio the advice and information they sent me was first class.

Sent an email to ask about what extras I would need to buy from eBay in order to fit one of their car stereos and got a full answer from Paresh within 10 minutes. Excellent service!

I bought a new head unit along with the various adapters required to fit it to my car recently. I didn't really know what I needed but I had an idea of budget. The advice I received was good and timely and the parts arrived early.

I brought a lead for my Audi and had trouble with the output . I emailed and the customer service I received was fantastic they knew exactly what to do and very quick to respond very helpful . Thanks again ..

I had called around 4 or 5 other companies requesting the audio adapter and steering wheel control for my Land Rover Discovery and was about to give up when I found the number for Car Audio Direct. Needed help & advice sorting out new DAB head unit + all the leads to keep stalk control functionality & enable separate info-display unit to work in our Renault Master II based campervan... Came to the right place. Quick responses from Lee to my lack-of-ICE-knowledge email queries, & suggestions offered for suitable kit. Bought a Sony radio head and steering wheel stalk controller for our Peugeot Boxer Motor Home, had an issue with the steering wheel stalk controller not working on closer examination the pack had been opened before but after a chat on the phone with Pete, an email sent showing couple of photo's of the packaging, a new item was sent and received with in a couple of days and worked perfectly, very pleased thanks,

A good range of products and good prices. The main reason I'm writing a review though is that there was an error between order and delivery - my parcel never got to me and DPD lost it. The guys at Car Audio Direct got a replacement to me and dealt with the internal hassle with DPD. Cheers!

Purchased these at a great price, but I had a problem installing, which was entirely down to me not changing the RCA's on the HU! However, I would not have discovered this if it hadn't been for the patience and knowledge of the Technical support at CAD...gotta be honest, they were great. It's all too often that retailers sell you something, then your on your own, however, CAD were nothing of the sort, quick responses with various solutions until the problem was sorted. Highly recommend them, and would use them for any further ICE purchases.

Had trouble sourcing the required lead as the van is a brand new model, the only place that was helpful was Lee from Car Audio Direct who took the time to find a supplier for the right part. The first one didn't fit but the second one did. So I appreciate the effort put in and can use my aftermarket radio with steering controls thanks to CAD. Highly recommended for customer service.

Purchased my Alpine iLX 700 CarPlay replacement HU, wiring harness and fascia fitment for my BMW 3 series Coupe from Car Audio Direct and must say their service and support was excellent. E-mail queries were responded to very quickly, the purchase process was most efficient and delivery to Ireland was fast. Unit now installed and working perfectly. A big thumbs up for Car Audio Direct (and for the Alpine iLX700).

I was looking for a new Double Din for my car, selected a one I liked then emailed these guys for some advice/ guidance. Instant response, extremely helpful and up to £100 cheaper than some of their competitors. Unit arrived the very next morning even though I only paid for 2 day delivery. I needed some advice on connecting the steering wheel controls and again, instant response and job done.

I was looking for some leads to enable me to fit an aftermarket stereo to a new car. Whilst being informed by a well-known high street car shop of the leads I required I found that these were the wrong ones as I would have to take half my car apart just to fit the wires. After contacting Car Audio Direct and sending some photos of the wire looms in my new car they informed me of the correct wires. Delivery was 2 days and after 10 minutes my new stereo was fully working and no dismantling of any parts of my car (Except removing the old stereo) if you want professional advice use Car Audio Direct

Car Audio Direct is a great website with a great team behind it.
Their prices seems to be reasonable and their shipping fees too.

I ordered some stuff for my 207 but few weeks later i didn't received anything. And no way to track the shipping.

So i wrote them an email about my problem. They quickly responded that they were making an inquiry.
A few minutes later they gave me my real tracking number and i could take it in my relay.

The same evening i put everything in my 207 and it works !
I have a brand new Sony Mex-N5000BT in my car.
