I booked a cruise for the wrong time

I booked a cruise for the wrong time, when I realized it was the wrong time I rebooked for the right time and called. I was told it was not refundable, which upset me as it was the same week for both bookings.
I've sailed with Carnival for more then 10 cruises, you'd think I have some grace.

Cruise was great until we disembarked…

Cruise was great until we disembarked in Brisbane and realised yesterday that we have been charged twice for our onboard expenses. We rang our bank who said to contact Carnival. We contacted Carnival who Initially said contact your bank and then gave us an email address to send our complaint to. We are not rich and are still waiting for a satisfactory conclusion to this which Carnival said could take up to 45 days.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. My husband and I took ourselves and our two children on our very first cruise . the day we get on the ship and are settling in, I noticed the carpet was soaked. Immediately called customer service . They sent someone to extract it and they put a fan on it (where they unplugged my fridge and we had to listen to the industrial fan all night). Next morning , unplug the fan , go out and about come back, floor soaked again. Repeat same thing from first complaint . Called three times in one day complaining - they do nothing to fix the issue just keep band aiding it instead of figuring out the source . THREE out of four days we had soaked carpet we couldn’t even walk on. Water, soda and beer we couldn’t drink bc they kept unplugging our fridge . They offer the day before departure to move our room. Insane . We paid a lot of money for a room with soaking wet floors and not being able to utilize our fridge & sleepless nights bc of a loud fan. I’ve emailed customer service twice with no response . NEVER AGAIN WILL I CRUISE CARNIVAL

Where do I begin.....

From the beggining, where do I start?!!   I called for a quote for the Horizon cruise on May 13th, 2023.  When I called, her first question to me was what state am I in (keep that in mind).  I went over all the details that was needed to book and asked for the full price of everything included (fees, taxes etc with insurance to help me determine whether on not I wanted to book this or keep the vacation I had already scheduled just 3 weeks prior).  She told me for the room I picked, the price was 3118.40 for everything, including port fees, insurance and gratuity and so with at info, I booked.  I then repeated myself with the rep to double checked that the price was for everything including port fees/taxes, gratuity and insurance.  She said yes so then she booked me and took my credit card info and it went threw.  THEN, AFTERWARDS.. she said "oops, you can't get insurance in NYS".  That was pretty upsetting for the simple fact that my husband has a nasty case of lyme and it can flare up at anytime.  So I later found out that instead of taking it off and reimbursing me for it, I was rebooked under the same account/reservation for the same amount but my gratuity and insurance were no longer included.  That is a problem!  I tried addressing it before departure but then ended up having to pay gratuity again.  The supervisor I talked to said they would address it with the rep that I spoke and booked with but won't do anything for me....seriously?!?!?!  Thats a real problem!!!

*The next big problem:  I ordered your wifi service along with my own service carrier (ATT) for on and off the ship for international calling (ATT said they sometimes have bad service on the boat due to lack of towers in international waters so thats why I added your wifi too).  I paid over 400 for all that.  I had a 10 year old at home staying with my very elderly parents (one of which has dementia) so it was imperative that I was able to reach her and she was able to reach me!!!!!!!  So......when I boarded that ship, I went right to guest services.  After waiting in that long line, they stated that I did not purchase the wifi package before boarding...😠😤😠😤.  I gave her the name, date and time of the person I talked to through Carnival that I ordered it with (Osmarah on 5/4 @ 720pm  ).  They needed to "investigate" she said and I was unable to reach our daughter until late that night.  Unacceptable!!!!!!  My daughter was so scared we would drown like the titanic and I was so worried everything was ok with her and my again, very elderly parents but we were unable to use a package I had purchased in advance, why?????🤨😠.  Separate from that, my neice ordered your drink package in advance too but they fought with her on that as well stating she didn't purchase it prior and she did!!!  Whats wrong with everyone there?????

*Next, I checked into our stateroom around 1pm.  I was still very upset I couldn't reach my daughter at that time and tried readdressing it with guest services over the phone but we were on hold 15-20 minutes and it would just hang up on us everytume we tried.  We kept trying and it would still hang up on us after the same length of time.  This continued for quite some time..  As I continued to try getting ahold of your GS department, I put the phone on speaker so I could at least do my usual wipedown.  (I always give everything a quick lysol wipedown wherever we go..hotel or anywhere...its the nurse in me).  So I started wiping the doorknobs etc.  Then I went in the bathroom...I first wiped the sink counter.  There was pubic hair and mustache trimmings on it...gross (you didn't see it up against the blue counter but saw it clearly on my lysol wipes.  At this point, I was beyond disgusted.  I was then ready to move on to the toilet.  I lifted the lid and was appalled.  There was a drop of blood, poop on the backside of the lid and hair all on the toilet rim.  I was so unbelievably angry at this time.  I just started to wipe and just then the attendant knocked on the door to introduce himself.  At this point, I had already wiped the blood but not the poo or hair yet.  He witnessed it.  I was pretty disgusted and at this point, regretting my decision to book this trip! When I finally reached guest services about what all transpired up to this point, I got a "sorry".  "Did they reclean your bathroom," is all they asked.  Im sorry, that doesn't cut it.  Seriously, were the sheets ever even changed???  Oh, I have more about the room at the end of this loooong story with pictures to prove it!  Hang on to your seats, there's more..

Won't let me write much more in this review. We had a serious medical issue at night and they were unavailable after hours with no functioning phone in our stateroom for 10 days..yes, they were aware. How incredibly dangerous. Id explain more but I'm running out of room😢

On departure day, we found a bunch of pills under our bed that we ID'd as oxycodone, BP meds lasix.😠

Carnival has dirty ships and bugs in the food

We took a cruise on Carnival Mardi Gras. It was aweful! The food was terrible, the elevators were very very slow, the staff was rude. We ate breakfast at Palm Restaurant and I ordered oatmeal. There were bugs in the nuts and raisins & I took a video of the bugs crawling in my food. The table next to me was grossed out. I notified the restaurant and they took a copy of my video. I never heard anything. I even told Jackie (cruise director) & showed him the video, Still I heard nothing. This is so disgusting! I wanted to attach a copy of my videos to this review so everyone can see.

Reimbursement of cancellation

I booked cruise on Carnival on Nov. 25, 2023 from LA to Mexico. They cancel the cruise due to issue with the ship which is understandable. They offer to reimbursement of air fare cancellation. When I sent in my document, they deny my airfare cancellation reimbursement saying I use E-Credit to pay for the airfare. I bought E-Airlines Gift Card with my credit card from Costco. But Carnival just denies it without any written policy. Even with written policy, such policy is illegal as they just simply deny consumer right.

Appalling and disgusting …

I would personally not recommend Carnival to any of my family or friends. Entering a holiday spending over $2000 on accomodation and food to be underwhelming let down has left a distasteful stench in my mouth. The buffet is revolting so I attempted to eat at the restaurant hoping for better quality. To which I was again let down with a microwaved sirloin steak.

Upon my disappointment I contacted guest services to make a complaint to which I was rudely advised to go back upstairs and speak to a manager. Upon locating a staff member in the buffet area asking for a manager I was directed to yet another waiter. The manager took my feedback but by the looks of these comments I don’t believe they’ve tried to improve anything.

Upon departing Airlie beach, guests were forced to stand in direct Sun on 30 degree day at over 80% humidity. Over 150 guests (many elderly) left to suffer as they await the tender back to the ship. Carnival had one gazebo to cater for everyone as they wait.

The pools are too small to cater for any more than 10 people and the reak of chlorine made them easily avoidable.

Having a quiet night I decide to order myself a strawberry daiquiri from the bar, where I was asked if I’d like an extra shot. To which I replied “no thank you I have a big day of excursions booked tomorrow”. After receiving my drink I noticed the bar tender rudely ignored my request and added an extra shot anyway. This is disgusting and seriously questionable.

The boat is overpacked obviously trying to get the most money they can. On multiple occasions I attempted to attend on ship events to which were always over packed to the point I was advised I cannot attend. The cabanas and chairs provided were no where near enough for the amount of people crammed on board. The smoking area was the size of a ensuite crammed with people 24/7.

The person left to attend my room was creepy and perverted. Upon him attempting to start conversation he would stare at my breast and look me up and down which left me feeling uncomfortable. It got to the extent I was locking my suitcase everyday and left the “snooze” sign on my door to avoid him entering my cabin.

The beds provided were horrendous and left my back strained every day.

Staff should be monitoring events and ques more as other guest were cutting lines which would result in waiting over an hour to either embark or disembark.

All and all I am appalled with the entirety of my stay. I will NEVER be attending this cruise again and I would NEVER recommend this to any family or friends and I pray you see this before it’s too late.

WHAT A WASTE OF ALMOST $3000.

Our first ever cruise on Carnival…

Our first ever cruise on Carnival Liberty. Design of the ship is a joke. Had a revamp in 2021, think somebody must have been blind.
The food was questionable. The entertainment I’ve seen better in a UK working men’s club.
Cabins were nothjnv to shout home about
We went to a wedding on board. Wedding camera man was an ignorant sod.
Our first and last on Carnivsl

I just finished a cruise on the Venezia

I just finished a cruise on the Carnival Venezia, and even though I have sailed with Carnival many times before, this was different.
Lets start with the Pros:
Beautiful ship, entertainment was excellent(Loved Joey & Mathew), cabin 3204 was spacious for a Oceanview, and kept clean by my Porter… zero complaints on the ports…
Now the Cons:
This ship is not for Americans, and NO I’m not a plus size individual, it most definitely is a European ship, the hallways allow one person at a time to pass, and forget it if it’s a walker or wheelchair. The Theater and the limelight seats were small, the casino chairs were so close together that at times I had to get up and move the chair for someone to pass behind me. And speaking on the casino, extremely bad ventilation system, breathing was an issue. The pool reminded me of a kiddy pool on other ships, way to small for a ship that holds 4000 people. 2 Hot tubs that had so many people in it, that they were sitting on each others laps. Sometimes, especially when you have 8 days at sea, I want to stay in my cabin and watch tv, but there was only 3 channels to watch, WHY… Of course you can only hear the announcements by opening up you cabin doors. Now on to nourishment, the Lido deck and the buffet were the smallest I’ve ever seen, Instead of individual food stations, there’s a single buffet line that has a school cafeteria vibe, no choices really and the stuff you can pick from were nasty. The dining room, usually on basically all my cruises, I take pics of my meals in the dining room because they are so beautiful… NOT THIS TRIP… one meal I just had ice cream, cause I didn’t like anything, the stuff I did eat was not presented nicely, and was dried out, salty, mushy or just down right tasteless. I basically spent 15 days eating guys burger. Now the drinks, If I ask for a rum and coke, I kind of expected some rum, the drinks were weak, where you just paid extra for shots, just to get a buzz. In the casino, I had unlimited drinks on the casino floor, which added up to nothing because there were so few people working in there that if you got a drink, your next one would be an hour later just find someone to help. Also I find picking your liquor up in the morning of disembarkation very inconvenient for someone running to catch a plane. On day 2 to 6 I had no sleep, because there was something rolling and banging into a wall above my cabin, I complained on day 6 and they put in a investigation, that is when it stopped, but no one told what it was. On the last night the banging started again and the toilet stopped working.
In conclusion, I have another cruise 12/28/23 on this ship and I am not sure I want to go.

Don't Waste Your Money

My wife and I have been cruising many years, and this was our 27th cruise. Our last Carnival cruise was 3 years ago and was basically the same as all the prior Carnival cruises we've been on. But this cruise we just did was WAY different! First of all the little things that used to be in our cabin like a small basket of goodies (disposable razor, tooth paste, lotions, shower cap etc), robes, stocked mini bar and notepad with pen...were non existent. We are "Platinum Level" which includes a free bottle of water, chocolate covered strawberries delivered to our cabin, coupon for a free mixed drink at brunch......all of which were not given to us. We did ask for the strawberries and received them....they were the smallest berries I've ever seen in my life. The room steward only made up our bed once a day, and didn't even get that all of the days since we were in the room for a few minutes when "he wanted to clean it". The food has gone down hill in the main dining room and the buffet as well....limited selections and prepared barely edible. Room service is no longer free except for a limited breakfast selection.....which there was no menu in our room to order from. Public restrooms were terrible....feces on the wall of the ladies room, no toilet paper in the mens room and the other areas were not clean either. Busboy service in the buffet and outdoor eating areas was slow to say the least, empty dirty dishes stacked 3 high before they were removed. The show's in the main theater were less than high school level....no fancy costumes or stage props they used to have. Needless to say this was our very last Carnival cruise we will ever take!

Discrimination Disrespect

I've been using Carnival for over 15 years Gold Card member, I've had some up and downs, but for the most part, I have defended and spoken up about Carnival and in my experience, when 50% of the people that mention Carnival speak down about the cruise line. On October the 1st. 2023 I had my worst experience with Carnival Cruise line from out of Baltimore on the legend cruise ship, experience, discriminatory and disrespectful communication from the Guests service representatives. I had requested and asked for my complaint to be escalated with an issue with my room with the guest service manager by the title Kim, I was told four times in one day she would be reaching out to me and she never did. When I went to visit guest services to follow Up, I had an encounter with a gentleman by the name of Benjamin. , I had a encounter with a gentleman by the name of Benjamin who had hung the phone up on me just a moment ago when I called before I went down I was told by this ignorant help that Guest Services was closed for the night nobody could help, and he hung up. When I got down to guest services, I spoke to a young lady. I was sharing experience and telling her that some ignorant man had hung the phone up on me. That person stood up. His name was Benjamin. He said he was a supervisor and it was I that hung the phone up on you. I told the gentleman I wasn't going to continue the conversation because I don't deal with disrespectful poor ignorant, communication, hanging the phone up and being dismissive to me , he ordered the young lady not to speak with me and he told me that they were not going to be addressing me go away and that I can leave now. I responded I can leave now. He said yes I said I want to continue to have a conversation with the young lady communication between you and I isn't well , he made a comment to the young lady and told her do not speak with me and that I could leave now and I responded I'm not leaving I still have questions he refused allow her to assist me and then he threaten to call security so I told him do it because I haven't done anything wrong. I'm a $3000 room guess and you're speaking to me in this manner. Security arrived. Apologize and told me that they would assist with having the guest service manager reach out to me in the morning. The individual by the name of Kim who I haven't seen as of yet after four request and repeatedly told she was going to reach out to me. It is my belief had I been Caucasian and not Afro American I wouldn't of been spoken to in that manner , he uses hands and wave them to dismiss me as he told me you can go now as though he control my coming and goings freely on the ship as an paid cruiser. I wouldn't recommend Carnival at this point they have finally lived up to the reputation that everyone has spoken about and I have defended them for years but now I've had my own experience the taste in my mouth and it will not be leaving. This is my last year cruising with Carnival 2023, canceling my Barclay credit from Carnival closed and disputing the charges. Filing Discretionary complaint.

The bed was like sleeping on concrete.

So last night I entered a raffle to win a Rolex watch out here on the carnival cruise celebration ship. We left port on the 9th. So I won the raffle and the associate comes over to put the Rolex on my wrist to adjust links to fit my wrist and I had asked so am I getting a box with this and the associate said yes so me and my fiance are standing there in disbelief for 20-25 minutes for the associate to come back over and say how are we going to be paying for this today. I told them I won it and he replies with a laugh saying you didn't win a Rolex and hands me some trash DIY bracelet. These folks owe me a Rolex. I have the flyer I got with the raffle ticket clearly saying enter a chance to win

Cruise on the Carinal Horizon

We selected this cruise to get at least an average cruise experience.

I will start with the good. Primarily, the ship itself. Appears to be in very
good physical condition and well maintained. All pools, hallways, bathrooms,
were fairly clean. All dining areas were in physically in good condition. Even the theatre had those nice lights, and new directional microphones, comfortable chairs, etc.

The Bad.
It is clear to me that this cruise line has a new business model for food. "The less you eat, the better their profits". This is the worse food experience we've
had on any cruise. Example. On the Lido deck for breakfast...I ask for bacon... the server
replies "no bacon". There always appeared to be lots of broccoli and beans at every meal.
The Lido breakfast didn't have as many choices as I hoped... no waffles, no other variety of meats, like Lox, no variety of sausages, no variety of egg dishes, I heard there was an omelet station. In fairness, at sit down breakfast, there was more variety available. Bacon, yes. I ordered waffles at sit down. The waiter brought to me a plate with 1/4 of a waffle on it. I asked for more, and he did bring it out. Is this a "cruise" experience", begging for food to be served at reasonable quantities and expected times.

One other clue is the management of the Lido deck. All the food serving stations were not used. Another clear sign, that everything thing is cut back. Oh, yes, True, menu, options were generally posted. Again, I felt like the opening and closing times of restaurants, Lido, etc, were designed to keep you from eating when you really wanted to. For Example, the lido was close at 9:30 at departure date. Maybe I should have "watched' the times more closely. Room service, is a joke. The only options, at night pizza and sandwiches.

Shrimp cocktail, the smallest shrimp I’ve ever seen in my life. The escargo, yes, all in one dish with no (dish cup) separation. I suspect, boiled in mass, and scooped in to a dish, no cheese, or breading on top. The hamburgers were very good. Only open at certain times. The taco station, good idea, unless you ask for more, about 2 teaspoons of meat on each. Barbecue house was good. Need I mention , on menus, extra charge for” premium” steak, $23.95 per person. The prime rib was good. Then there is the extra charge for an additional lobster. The waiter spent an additional 10 minutes, to make sure I understood there would be an extra $5 charge for that.

Show time !!. The entertainment was a "violin" group with dancers, who sang songs that I did not recognize, thru a sound system that muffled their voices. Evidence of hiring from talent from an inexpensive foreign country, avoidance of licensing fees, and, an unexperienced sound team. I would never have presented this as "entertainment" for a group of Americans, from the Midwest and South. Entertainment was dominated by "Single/Double person" acts, comedians, piano players, sing alongs, DJ, Singer/Guitar player,,,,you get the pattern, no groups or "real" bands.

Must say, the service staff were generally good, within the limits management allowed.
Would I go on another Carnival cruise, Probably Never, unless I was able to review (at least) the entire food menu, Times of restaurant openings, entertainment scheduling/content, drink costs and other items controlled by management, in advance.

Poor service

If you have seen my previous post, carnival lost my luggage on a 10 day cruise to Alaska, I have been waiting for a reply concerning compensation, NOTHING just a general reply saying they had received my emails
I have now sent a letter to there head office
It seems poor service is a constant theme with carnival
