If I could leave a minus review rating, I would.

Don't waste your money, time, or energy on these scammers.

If you have young children, you might enjoy your day, though you'll still probably feel ripped off.

When I asked for a refund due to the misadvertisement (very politely and with full explanation), I was told no. Then when I persisted, I was ignored. Reported them to trading standards & still trying to get my money back. Over £100 wasted on a hilariously bad day out.

Not a great halloween experience at all. We have been visiting for the last few years and always enjoyed going. The trick or treat street was very disappointing this year it's always been great with interactive characters and plenty of sweets, but this year very few doors and no interaction with the children and 4 sweets. And you felt you walking around with little too look at. And avoid the train ride again it was great last year, this year looked like someone just placed random characters in a field . Sadly will be our last visit

⭐ 1 Star – An Organised Mess from Start to Finish!

Our Halloween trip to Cattows Farm was an absolute disaster from beginning to end. The whole thing was one big organised mess — if you can even call it organised. The amount of people there was completely ridiculous. It felt like they just kept cramming more in with zero thought for safety, comfort, or enjoyment.

We paid extra for Trick or Treat Street, and honestly, it was a joke. My little girl got four sweets — yes, four — after all that hype. The groups were badly managed, and ours caught up with the one in front, making everything rushed and chaotic. The poor girl at the end was trying her best to keep things running, but it was far too busy for one person to handle.

The fair was eye-wateringly overpriced, and the food was awful — absolutely not worth the money. Me and my partner have both been poorly since eating there, which really says it all.

To top it off, the staff clearly didn’t even want to be there. Not a smile, not a bit of enthusiasm — just people going through the motions and looking like they’d rather be anywhere else.

This event is obviously after one thing and one thing only: money. There was no care, no organisation, and no atmosphere. Just chaos, queues, and disappointment. A complete and utter shambles — we will definitely not be returning next year.

DO NOT BOOK

I got sold by the media hype and good marketing, yes it’s very “instagrammable” if that’s your thing.
The reality is the time slots are pointless, the place is absolutely heaving, queues are well over 2 hours, we had entry at 1pm which actually meant we would never have got to see the “attraction’s” given the 5pm close so basically we were never going to get what we paid for.
It’s absolute chaos inside way way way too many people, just pure greed.
The ghost train ride! Ahahaha they saw us coming £4 each for gosh less than 30 seconds!
The pumpkin field probably had a handful on the ground that weren’t smashed.
It’s someone’s cash cow with no thought or care for user experience.

Laughably rubbish unless your kids are 8 and under!
Looks impressive but is, disappointingly, the usual half hearted English attempt at trying to copy what other countries do far better.
Absolute extortionate prices for everything we've become use to at what's a pretty pathetic attempt at a fair. Notably the ghost train @ £3.50ea for literally a 20 second ride 🤣
All in all just rubbish, better off getting a pumping locally and skipping this event unless you're desperate to take the kids somewhere

This should have been amazing

This should have been amazing, it cost over £100 to get in, but in reality, it is not worth the money. We paid priority parking which didn’t offer any benefit, entry queue jump and didn’t have to use it (another waste) the queues for each event were at least an hour and a half so we didnt get to go to all the events due to wasted time. The food and drink were extremely expensive, I didn’t see where my money (ticket price) actually went, the only thing we got to really make use of was the fair which was additional money. I think the tickets need to cost less and they need to limit the amount of people they let in at a time, to make it enjoyable. I went when it first opened years ago, it was well priced, not as busy as this, had better attractions and we had a far better time. Disappointed.

Her little kingdom

The women working in the cafe. You have no life. In my job I get verbally assaulted all the time yet I understand the value of acting like a professional. You were rude and just a vile human being. I’m sorry to have stepped foot in only place you have power. Never again. We came for food and strawberry picking. Left saying never again. The courtyard cafe in Ashby. Better service better people. Why would I make the effort to go further for utterly awful service.

Avoid

We attended the event on Sunday, Oct 27th, which was more than disappointing.

As loyal visitors in previous years, we were really looking forward to another enjoyable day, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The entry process was frustrating, with over an hour spent stuck in traffic, leading us to arrive at 1:30 PM. Our arrival time was 12pm.

We were eager to check out the haunted railway, but the line was already over an hour long (after asking a staff member how long it would take to queue) We ultimately had to skip it, which left our children very upset.

After grabbing our pumpkins we decided to leave at 4PM, but we faced more traffic getting out, as we were parked at the back of the lot. It turned into another long wait, which added to our frustration.

Your website mentions a smooth and stress free arrival and departure experience, but sadly, that was not our reality. Unfortunately nothing was stress-free about it! It was very dangerous with cars trying to get in front of one another. There were no parking attendants in sight helping manage the exit however there were 5 stood chatting further down.

It felt like the event was oversold, despite the encouragement to book early to avoid missing out.

I tried asking for a refund on the haunted express but they said no. Will not be returning and urge everyone not to visit.

Halloween farm at Cattows

Halloween farm at Cattows
If you’re wondering whether to book this half term but put off by the reviews, then rest assured it really is as bad as they say!
Complete rip off, dont really know where to start , trick or treat street, baring in mind the adults have to pay full price, adults are not allowed to take any sweets! There are 4 doors to knock on and it was so chaotic and unorganised with so many children going through that the doors were always open so none ever got to knock! Which was very upsetting for my child, and on the forth door there wasn’t even an, actor’ no one there just a few sweets on the floor to pick up !

Fantasy land, Dino and mini golf full of 30 year old broken equipment, no staff to interact with - dreadful.

The animal farm is a joke and the park is poor

But the train ride is the worst - a 6 min lap of a corn field with broken statues, and content such as an axe man with a pig mask cutting up a body in a bath!!! This is not suitable for a young family with young children, even my poor lad who likes to get the best out of everything, was absolutely heartbroken after many weeks of excited anticipation!
3 of the main payable attractions done in less than 40 mins - you only need 2 hours tops at this event to do everything if you do go.

My only mistake was not reading the reviews before I booked, I cannot believe that trading standards have not got a hold of this place- and shut it down

We won't go again

There was very little in the way of 'meeting expectations' on this trip out. The 'VIP' parking (extra) was nowhwere to be seen and when we asked someone about it they clearly had no idea what we'd paid the extra for. The fast track (extra) was again not in evidence, I walked past the queue at the entrance up to the fast track desk where a man was playing on his phone. I said we'd paid extra and asked why there were no directions that led to his desk. I had to listen to how he works very long hours, the fact that it was not 'that busy' and that it was just not a priority to move the signs. I told him it did not matter it was not busy and asked when he'd make it a priority. More of the same so I called my daughter and grandchildren forward and we joined the back of the shortest queue. As it turned out, they were all moving at the same pace.
As other reviews have said, there was no map which would have made things a lot easier.
We were not expecting a large funfair taking up a huge area with very loud music playing (decibel level not great for adults never mind young children), this area was hard to avoid. The food wagons were limited with the nicest looking ones not open. Wish we'd known about the restaurant with decent loos!
My grandchildren are 6 and 8 so the trick or treat experience was fun for them however, adults and older children will have been very underwhemed (and I agree with other comments about the poor quality of sweets).
The bouncy area was good and clearly a lot of fun for them, again, a few years older and they'll possibly not be as keen.
The train ride through the crop of sweet corn was loved by the children (some of the 'displays' were not really appropriate for really young children). Once again, adults and older children are likely to have been very underwhelmed.
The crazy golf was very good (there was a great deal of it) and although some of it was damaged, on the whole we all had a lot of fun.
Did not go in the maze.
The circus was very good indeed with the final act (two young men doing acrobatics high up with no safety equipment) being excellent.
It was a good day out because the children had a lovely time but we will not go again.

Don’t waste your money

This was our first (and last) visit to Cattows Farm Halloween event. Despite the expensive prices, it promised to be a fun packed day so felt it would be worth it. All of the Facebook reviews were positive. We managed to get into the park an hour past our booked arrival time due to the volume of traffic trying to enter the farm. We went as a family of 5 and paid £10.50 each to enter fantasy land. Here, we enjoyed 3 games of crazy golf. Next, we queued for an hour and a half for trick or treat street which was highly disappointing. We were rushed past around 4 doors where the kids could a collect a lolly each but my children didn’t even get an opportunity to knock on a door due to the amount of people being pushed though at once. We managed to get onto the haunted train at the end of the day which was laughable. It cost nearly £50 to do a loop of a corn field with a small make shift tunnel stuffed with various props and dry ice. We didn’t even manage to pick ourselves a pumpkin as the day was spent queuing. It certainly felt like money was all that this place cared about. Nobody seem to have any interest in whether the customers were going to enjoy the experience. My advice would be to spend your money elsewhere, this was certainly not worth the prices charged.

Fraud attempt be aware

Burger "lady" from one of the food booths copied my card details when I paid by phone. Monday after we visited there was a fraudulent transaction attempted in Italy on my account. Apart from that the food was shockingly disgusting so please take your own. Don't give these bastards a chance to take advantage of you and your hard earned money.

Do not waste your money a

Do not waste your money at this Halloween event . We paid £5 each to enter a fun fair . Came two years ago and was great , now it’s just a rip off !!
Trick or treat street , £9 each, so for us with two children £36 for a few sweets and a 10 minute experience of dry ice and a few flappy black curtains .
Worse still was the bouncy castle area . Again £9 and children walking round in soaking wet socks as they were not allowed to take them off . We were given an hour slot and were out in twenty minutes as half of the inflatables were only suitable for under five’s ! The weather was nobodies fault but provision should have been made to keep Children’s feet dry . It was a quagmire !!!
The pumpkin area was also a mud bath with only one price board for prices and pumpkins up to £8-50 ! ( get one from Tesco or Asda for £2-3 !! )
The only enjoyable event was the Circus £10 each for 45 minutes -
The afternoon cost over £120 for two adults and 2 children (not including the fun fair )
What a rip off . Commercialisation at its worst !!
Save your money !!

Ripoff place

The only thing they want from clients is money… general admission each £5 to arrive there and to be surrounded from rides which prices are £3 each to £6 for face painting for every child… no map anywhere to guide you through the halloween event. No staff around to help the visitors, their actual toilets were locked and had to use those portable cubicle toilets, we had to pay extra for each activity which lasted 5 minutes max 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️. The cafe was nice and had nice drinks and it was warm inside. I just think its over priced for very poor quality and not a lot of love was put into it… felt pretty miserable there walking in the mud it was so easy to trip as we walked through the dinosaur world…

Halloween money making machine

Overpriced, poor quality Halloween attractions (apart from circus). Paid a small fortune for what I thought was going to be a great day out. Avoid the Trick or Treat Street. £8 each for five of us (2 adults and three kids) to walk through a decorated farmhouse. The three kids got 6 sweets each and when my 6yo son accidentally picked up two, he was told to put one back. Absolutely disgusting! The quality of this particular attraction was poor. The Haunted Express train ride was a con, too. A short trip through a field to see some Halloween decorations. No actors, nothing. The circus was worth the money, but overall the day was a rip-off. I will just mention the hot chocolates I bought the kids… at £5.30 each! I would avoid this place tbh. Far better places to spend your hard earned money.

Terrible customer service!!

I’ve just booked tickets for Halloween farm, I put in all the discount codes and the price is as shown correctly, next page paid etc. But upon checking my account I’ve been charged the full price. Then checking my tickets I’ve been charged for some tickets that I had previously removed. I contacted the sales team who say they will not refund me. I am disgusted by this sales attitude, especially as this was some type of computer error and not my own fault.

Scam | Money Suckers | Pathetic Fun Fair

This place is a scam - a land full of dirt, mud, slime and cow dung.
The moment you keep your foot out of your car, you are toes deep in rich, brown, smooth, chocolate mud and this thing is everywhere - mind you in the entire fair.

There is nothing halloween themed in the whole area apart from a pumpkin farm - the entry to it is restricted and about 3 dozen pumpkins are lined up on a rack.

The place is a mess, people jumping, skipping, slipping, falling and just trying to avoid getting more mud on their clothes.
The entry fee was 10 pounds per adult but contains nothing free inside - jurassic world, a petty circus, a spooky cinema tent and some jumping ground for the kids - each and everything placed at 10 pounds each with a wait time of over 30-40 mins - again waiting grounds are ankle deep in mud.

The live music was barely audible and there was no way to walk upto the stage - reason - mud :)

Food stalls were pathetic and in distress - Am sure people would have had better pizzas in their home even when hiding from German Bomber planes during WW2.

The amusement rides were very childish - none of the high energy ones - very basic but quite pricey with minimum being 3 pounds per ride.

The total event was shamefully executed, money demanded at every step, no management, no good food - never ever going to Cattows again.

Cattows Firework Disaster

Saturday night fireworks were an absolute joke the whole event should have been cancelled. The simple reason it wasn't was so the organiser could cream their big profit along with Cattows. They should be totally ashamed for the appalling debacle.
It would be nice to see an offer of a refund DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH !!!!

As a wedding photographer

As a wedding photographer, I had the privilege of capturing a beautiful wedding celebration at Cattows Farm. The venue offers a truly unique experience for couples looking for a rustic and charming setting for their special day. The farm has been a family tradition for over a century, and this legacy of quality is evident in everything they do.

The farm offers a range of products and services including a wedding venue, fresh produce, outdoor activities, and annual festivals. The tea room is always a popular place to relax and enjoy great food and coffee while taking in the stunning panoramic views of Leicestershire.

I was thoroughly impressed with the facilities and staff at Cattows Farm. The venue is well-maintained and beautifully presented, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure that the wedding couple and their guests had an unforgettable experience.

The wedding ceremony took place outdoors on the beautiful grounds of the farm, surrounded by stunning panoramic views. The setting was breathtaking and provided the perfect backdrop for the couple's vows. The orchard and surrounding fields made for fantastic photo opportunities, and the natural light was perfect for capturing all the special moments of the day.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend Cattows Farm to anyone looking for a unique and memorable wedding venue. The venue offers a truly special experience, and the staff are dedicated to making every wedding celebration a success.

Kindest regards
The Kensington Photographer
