Sadly after agreement of timing as we had dependencies, and paying the deposit we received poor service, with the administrative team refusing to provide any information on timings nor confirming that the installation date could still be met. Initially trying to blame me then the MD advised in writing was due to the person responsible for our area and not replaced yet. I thought they were a bigger company, EDF acquired CB Heating and seems they have issues, recommend to avoid.

We had an excellent experience from Stephen Hayward from EDF and the installation team of John Tutil and Dale who were outstanding throughout they worked continuously and kept us informed throughout they cleaned up afterwards and had everything explained to us on completion. We couldn’t praise them enough. We are very happy and the system is excellent. FIVE stars aren’t enough.

Great service from start to finish, bit of an older property so a bit “quirky” in places but EDF Heat Pumps and their installer Phoenix Heating & Renewables applied their expertise, experience and great customer care to get the job done to a very high standard. Really pleased with how it has all turned out and and just as importantly how well we were engaged with throughout.

Yes veey pleased with the system of heat pump znd solar this year we intend buying a storage battery. The heat pump is a "big lump" of kit but certainly does the job

The install team were an excellant team, they all had a good working knowledge of the heat pump. They kept me informed at every step of the install. All of the install pipework is neat tidy and cleaned on completion.
I was wary that the property would not get hot enough, however, the heat is better than when I had my gas boiler.
I would recommend this install team.

I recently had an EDF heat pump installed and I’m very impressed with its performance. It’s extremely efficient and has already made a noticeable difference. The customer service team was also very helpful throughout the process, answering all my questions and making everything straightforward. Overall, a great experience and a product I’d happily recommend.

The EDF Heat pump and CB Heating teams carried out a fantastic job on our Heat Pump, Cylinder and radiators on what proved to be a difficult house layout and during the week Storm Gorreti and snow struck. Ashley Kinrade, Chris (in particular who were stars) and the entire team were very professional, tidy, and communicated brilliantly through the implementation. We were guided through each step of the project an easy-to-follow manner with any potential issue highlighted beforehand, as a heads up although everything was sorted and the system went live a couple of days late due to it being during the week of the Storm. In addition, the tech team, surveys, admin and follow up was both professional, smooth with great communication with Stephen Hayward post implementation Jennifer Humphrey pre sales and Ramya Sahiladaran in the Ops team being stars.

one star as the hot water temperature and pressure is great and CB heating finished sort off finished in time frame.
However if you want a warm house do not bother. We are now spending £35.00 a day powering the pump yet it is unable to get the house higher than 20.6 deg.
Have even tried running on boost all day, no difference.
Even after turning it off via the app and setting holiday
on the Hive for 6 days(Which showed was set to 7 degrees) still managed to use £70 electricity.
EDF give a heat guarantee however to date, this is a waste of time as our system is fully 'optimised' yet still not good.
We had an efficient oil boiler before, really wish we hadn't changed, was always turning that system down.
This is substantially disappointing especially as the EDF Solar panels and battery storage was so good in July.
Stay clear

We have had the heatpump installed for a year or so now and sincerely, I think it is a better system than having a boiler but unfortunately ours has not been working efficiently as it should, particularly in the winter..our house is installed with triple glazed windows and that should have helped. CB heating, now EDF Heatpump have replaced the units to try and get it right and tried to fine tune the system few times but it is still not working efficiently as it should because , I am not sure if the design was the problem. Since the start of October winter month, we have been hovering around 17⁰ to 18⁰ room temperature which is bad. Initially it was the hot water that was the problem because we have a big family and the hot water tank runs out quickly and we had to adjust using less hot water or wait for a while for the tank to refill. So overall, the system can be better if they can get it right. I really still don't know what to do if we have to go back to gas central heating and install a boiler.

I am absolutely delighted with my new heating system from EDF Heat Pumps and would highly recommend their services. From start to finish, the design and installation process was handled fantastically well by all concerned - Ramya; Craig; Charles and Nathan (EDF Heat Pumps, Clacton-on-Sea); Cieran and Chris (CJL Plumbing & Heating, Llanelli); and Ethan (EJS Electrical, Llanelli). All were the very model of helpful; courteous; professional and hard-working and made the whole process from start to finish a complete pleasure. Thank you.

The heat pump was installed professionally although there could have been more time spent on explaining how it all works as you were left with the manual and very little explanation

Excellent installation once we got the brilliant installation team appropriate to our property. The system works very well indeed.
But, unfortunately, we are not well off enough to afford it being on as we would like.

Love my new heat pump & getting more use of it with the weather being colder. I have an old stone cottage, built into the side of a hill & was led to believe that it would be difficult for a heat pump to cope. Not true - it’s doing a great job. Downside- it’s quite big & takes up quite a bit of space in my small garden. I’m hoping the environmental advantages make up for it.

I cannot warn people strongly enough about CB Heating (EDF Heat Pumps). This has been the worst customer experience I have ever had with any contractor.
From the outset, the installation was riddled with serious faults — including live electric cables left exposed, which resulted in my builder being electrocuted. This was not just careless; it was dangerous. No one from CB Heating took accountability for this health and safety breach.
Despite repeated visits by different engineers, the system still does not function properly. The hot water pressure is inadequate, the heating fails to reach the upper floors, and we suspect the system was running on emergency immersion settings for two months, causing extreme energy bills — all this despite having solar panels and battery storage. Multiple engineers have acknowledged issues, but I have yet to receive a single formal report.
The outdoor unit was delivered damaged, with dented grilles, and although CB Heating promised to repair this, nothing was done. Improper pipework, incorrect pressure pump installation, and unprofessional behaviour from senior management only added to the nightmare. One them mistakenly sent an internal email to me talking very ill of my person.
To top it off, after raising all of these concerns, I was met with threatening legal letters demanding full payment — despite the fact that the installation is incomplete and defective. They even claiming for unpaid gas and electric bill when I’m with Octupus. I was even falsely accused of cancelling the finance agreement, which I did not do. CB Heating’s managing director has sent aggressive emails with unfounded legal threats, completely ignoring the long list of unresolved faults. They claiming for the full amount for the installation including the BUS funding £7500, which I’ve received confirmation from Ofgem that EDF have successfully claimed/received.
This entire ordeal has taken a major toll on my family’s wellbeing. The stress has been so severe that I had to withdraw from a postgraduate scholarship worth £20,000. I have spent over £100,000 on my home with other reputable contractors with no issues — CB Heating stands alone in its lack of professionalism, accountability, and technical competence.
I sent two formal complaints to EDF which was ignored. I have now referred the matter to HIES, Ofgem, and NAPIT, and I will not hesitate to pursue legal action. If you value your home, your safety, and your sanity, stay away from CB Heating.
Since my review I can see EDF has claimed that I have fabricated the claim. If anyone wishes to connect with me please find my on Google review: I will send copies of emails, pictures, videos, emails from Ofgem confirming EDF received the BUS payment of £7500. My heating still doesn't work on the top floor and the pressure pump never worked. They are so proud of their partnership and their influence that they have forgotten their values.

I've been left with a system that makes very loud bangs every time it reaches desired temperature. Have to turn off at night to stop the banging. I've been calling every other day for a month with no call backs till today to say can't fix till new year.
I sent an email a couple of weeks ago saying I would report to MCS to which the MD replied telling me not to threaten them and that things would be fixed.
Cold weather due next week and a system I cant use at night, great Christmas.
On top of this neighbours have complained to council about the noise.
Only had the system a couple of months and I've lost any faith that this and any future problems will be fixed in anything like a timely manner.
20/1/26 It has now been fixed. A lot of the delay was down to a 3rd party contractor so I will improve my rating. Pity they don't keep things in house so would have more control on outcomes.
