Chakra Kensington, a gem of an Indian restaurant

Chakra Kensington is a gem of an Indian restaurant tucked away behind the bustle of Kensington High St. As lovers of Indian food, we were excited to discover this charming place in our neighborhood. Being on the eve of the Nottingham Hill Carnival, the restaurant was very quiet, but the staff were friendly and inviting. The menu included some of our favorite dishes plus some items that were totally new to us. We ordered the Poppadums that were served with a refreshing mint, tomato and mango chutney and the Prawn Paneer Tikka, with its spiced generously sized prawns, peppers and onions was grilled to perfection. We then ordered our favorite Lamb Saag, Chicken curry, Raita and Garlic Naan. When I say our favorites, that doesn’t mean to say that we accept just the run of the mill examples of these dishes. The Saag here had juicy tender pieces of lamb set in a rich spinach sauce and the curry was spicy with a heat that permeated the dish without overpowering your taste buds and leaving you gasping for water! All in all it was a truly delicious meal, that definitely invites us to visit again. I highly recommend you to visit this little gem of an Indian restaurant.
