value, speed and quality

We ordered our Vango 5 man tent and it arrived quickly. One downside is that we gave instructions to leave it in the porch if we were not in - but a card was left - they tried again to deliver - again left a card - I had to pick up - not good for working people. We took the tent to Wasdale Head this weekend - it was great - but the instructions said it should be packed away with all zips done up - when we opened it they were all open - an odd one?
It was a very good rpoce for a very good tent.

Thanks for your review Mike. We are sorry that we are not able to arrange for your tent to be left in the porch. We require that a signature is obtained from the delivery company to help ensure against instances of loss, theft or fraud. For example, it is possible that the tent could be stolen from you porch and you would naturally assume that we had not delivered it.

For UK customers we can deliver goods to an address other than the card registered address, including work addresses, which may be helpful to you.

As for the question of the zips, we think manufacturers leave them open when they pack the tents so that they can get more air out and so pack them smaller. It is likely that in the factory they are able to pack the tent in such a way that the open zips cause no damage to the tent fabric. Out on the campsite it's not usually possible to make a good job of packing your tent away, so it's better to close the zips.

When pitching a tent all the zips should be closed. If you pitch the tent with the zips open you will find that tent fabric is stretched too much and the zips will not close. We've found that if the zips are left open when you pack the tent away it's easy to forget to close them before pitching, so this is a good reason to zip them up before you pack your tent away.

Great service and great price.

A great service product with a fantastic discount for what was a quite expensive product. Will definately use again. Highly recommended.

Many thanks.
