I had a horrible experience with Chermol & Fishman. They represented me for 3 years, and my disability was denied many times during that time. My case was being passed to countless people in the office with at least 10 people quitting. There were countless careless mistakes, missed deadlines, and missed communication from this office. Plus, they didn’t even prepare me for me hearing AT ALL. I faced major repercussions for that, and my disability was denied because of their lack of communication. The judge was obviously transphobic, misgendering me throughout the whole hearing and within the very denial letter (just to make matters clear, I’ve been male my whole case. There’s no reason for him to misgender me). My lawyers at Chermol and Fishman did not even care. I said I wanted to charge for discrimination against the judge, MONTHS went by no answer. Finally, I hear from the manager at the office, we agree on a time to speak and he blows me off, saying he thought I meant east coast time. This office is full of lazy self-centered people. Do NOT trust them to represent you, they will fail and you’re a lucky duck if they don’t. Getting disability is extremely hard, and you must have competent, compassionate, and professional lawyers to win your case…they are anything but.

When you’re sick and navigating a disability claim, sometimes your instincts can feel clouded by stress and uncertainty. That’s exactly how I felt at first.
