Out of 13 collection this year I have reported missed collection 9 times for the general waste bin when you report it at 18.30 same day it says teams still working in the area rubbish after 15.00 if not collected it won't be dreadful service

First in the queue for 96 mins. Standard of service is utterly appalling.

Today I had the misfortune to contact Cheshire East Council regarding waste disposal. To say that the gentleman who took my call was apathetic and couldn't care less would be a gross understatement. I realise that working for a council with such a poor track record must be disheartening however.the operator I spoke to reduced customer service to a whole new level.

Boiler fault,day three.
No heating no hot water.
Gas engineer,last night said it needs a new part,we're on the list?? Anyway couple of follow up calls today
Any news on your boiler, left with, someone will be out tomorrow 9-6 which Cheshire East is day four in your affluent and rich area with no heating and hot water.

My black bin wasn't collected on Monday 15th, look at the authorities website and it advises that they have staff shortages and to leave the bin out as they will endeavour to collect at a later time or on Saturday. This this doesn't happen the site states it will collect on the next usual date and will take plastic bags stacked by the side of the bin.
All well and good but one vital piece of information is missing! You have to report the missed collection after 6pm on the day the collection is missed and then up to 48 hours after. If you don't despite the great system they have installed in the cabs of the refuse trucks, they will not take any bags.

I was having great problems finding information on work done 27 years ago for the EPC report. Amelia in building control saved the day and my thanks go out to this most pleasant and helpful lady

Been living here in little old Cheshire for years and almost every time that we have had contact with CEC human they have been useless. Are the CEC humans programmed not to compute? All applicable departments, highways, refuse, planning enforcement, building control... ineffective CEC is the best at incompetence.

If scocieal services just stay in their place. Keep all scocieal workers out of my fiances site it has set his mental health off really bad. They keep saying that Jason Jones has no compasity jason wont do compasity test so how can he be deemed no compasity for sex and marriage this is just a complete lie from cheshire east then they spread round to other councils saying its agaist law when it's not. They are now taking jason jones fiance to court witch his fiance hasent done wrong plus sex and maridge is not agaist the it even proves it on government website that its not agaist law so these compasity test need to bludy stop it's only agaist law if your 18 and under and sex is if 16 and under so needs to stop they are all butch of lyers. If they go near jason now their in for it jason is not putting up with it if they dont want this to escalate they have stay in their place. Jason mental health going through roof now they are all liers and are in debt.

Took 30 minutes to get from the flower pot to past the tip on Congleton road. There is going to be a very bad accident as cars overtake with frustration on a blind hill. open the other tips back up.

Masters of incompetence

I have been trying to get them to clear there gullies for 2 years .when it rains it floods my drive and has caused damage . I live on the main Altrincham road and I am astounded that the council do so little in upkeep of the drainage

The hedge to the Sandbach Cheshire East headquarters on Platt Avenue is so overgrown & unkempt that there’s bramble briars growing out of it well into the pavement zone. I didn’t notice one & it gashed my face, luckily not my eye. The whole building & grounds are a disgrace & dangerous for passers by. The place typifies the utter uselessness of Cheshire East Council.

Cheshire East Council is yet another failed experiment that needs to be disbanded.

The person I dealt with made the whole registering easy as ABC, very polite and extremely helpful and Patient.

My garden flooded in Nov 2023 due to a blocked drain outside my house. The Drainage Manager attended and said it needs a ‘dig team’ but it would be in the next financial year. Not interested in my flooded garden and when asked I was told to contact CEC insurers which I did. My claim was rejected as the drainage person said the cause was water run off from an adjoining field. A week later same person informs councillors in writing that the cause was a sub-station next door. The drainage Manager has done no land survey of either the field or the sub-station and has made up his own conclusions. I went down the formal route of making a complaint and never got a formal response in accordance with their guidlines. I progressed to Stage 2 and also made 9 individual complaints against the drainage officer. My complaint was sent to the Complaints Dept. I had to dig for this information but yesterday I was told that the dept are an admin role only and don’t actually investigate complaints….really? I’ve no idea who does. My 9 complaints were forwarded to the drainage officers line manager and he responded and you’ve guessed he refuted all my claims without any evidence whatsoever. I did a bit more digging and discovered that the CEC Drainage Manager and Head of Highways aren’t actually CEC employees! They are employed by Ringway Jacobs who have a contract with CEC. I was never informed that my complaint and details would be forwarded to Ringway Jacobs or that they can’t actually enforce CEC Misconduct Procedures. I would not have consented to this. The Complaints Dept clearly have no idea of dealing with complaints.For ease, I aligned all 9 complaints to the CEC Misconduct Procedures. I have contacted the Information Commisioner’s Office about this. In addition, I’ve complained to the Local Government Ombudsman. Be aware that if you ever have the misfortune to deal with CEC that you check if the complaint is an actual employee.
There have been numerous people involved in this and yet no-one has got a grip of it. They don’t answer questions and repeatedly point the way of seeking my own legal advice or the way of the LGSCO. They don’t know how to actually deal with complaints. I’ve offered numerous times to meet, discuss my issues and assist in correcting what are clear operational faults. I’ve really shortened this and there is a lot I could add. I have reached the point where this and social media and ultimately Court are the way forward. I had local councillors, town councillors and MP involved but still I get no proper response from someone with a full oversight of what has happened. The town councillor even asked for things to be sent to the CEO……of course he hasn’t responded.
On a happier note, the dig team arrived in May and spent a week working on the drains and they now work fine. Why do the work if it wasn’t required? I thought the source was the field or sub-station?

I approached Cheshire East for Garden bin licence for my mums property who has passed away. It is now 5 months into the year and despite this the Council states I must pay for the full year even though I am only going to using the Garden bin collection for 7 months. Total rip off and is illegal to charge for services they haven’t delivered - seeking legal advice as this type of abuse of power is not acceptable.

Cheshire East Council is absolutely awful. They have not emptied our bins for two weeks now and they promise it will be done within 5 days but that is a lie. The bin men do what they want because the bosses don't discipline them anyway. They very rarely fill in potholes that are reported on their website and when they do it is such a bad repair that it is back to a hole in a few weeks time. The roads around Crewe and Nantwich are a bloody disgrace but they are charging at lot more in poll tax and the road tax is more as well so why are we paying that when we get nothing back in return. They need to stop any cosmetic changes until the existing roads are repaired.

Given Cheshire East Council has asked the Government for "exceptional financial support" to avoid having to declare itself bankrupt, one can only assume there to be little in the way of effective leadership, management, due dligence and process. I pay over £3,000 in council tax and like many others regard this now as a shameful waste of money.

Can the Council be better run? Absolutely.

Our road surface is like a third world farm track, CEC no longer grit the 1 in 10 (10%) hill I live on, my green bin is no longer collected, it takes over five months to get a minor planning consent and CEC are going to start charging for parking on our town centre car park (a lifeline to local businesses and residents alike). Not sure why I'm paying my Council Tax. Just awful.

Spoke to the robots on the refuse help line as much use as a chocolate fireguard. Recycling bin half emptied the bin men obviously don't check the bin after it's put on the van and was told it must have been compacted. Unbelievable.
