Garbage ISP

Visiting relatives in China is a pain when your Wi-Fi is legit trash. I installed a new router and modem in my relative's house because they had no Wi-Fi before and one closed door and even the 2.4ghz connection is gone. Plus, the Wi-Fi randomly says No Internet completely randomly, and it's slow as hell.

China's ISPs generally are all garbage due to outdated core networks

Horrible cmlink esim experience

Esim we bought for China for my
daughter who was travelling with school, unfortunately esim didn't work. Tried to contact customer's service and had awful experience as they were not able to solve the problems. Not recommended to buy any service from cmlink, as it will let you down so badly. On top of that you would not be able to get a refund. It was a horrible experience.

If I could give zero

If I could give zero, I would. Customer service on the phone is horrendous. Not very flexible. This company does not value loyalty and will slap you with a penalty. I asked them early on in the year if I could cancel my plan for July. They told me that I have to do it within 3 months. So I waited until June. Then they tell me that I now have half a year left… and have to pay off the rest of my contract. Scamming company. Do not use it.

SCAM ALERT

Do NOT every get any product or service from China Mobile. This is a complete SCAM company.
I bought a visitor SIM for Hong Kong AT THE AIRPORT from them and they told me it also covers mainland and Macao inclusive in the plan, but it does NOT.
Instead, your money disappears and you are left with no data...

One star is being generous

One star is being generous. I have had problems with my mobile and had tried for several days to get customer services. Online & phone calls all get disconnected. It’s as thought they don’t want to address anything negative. Will be going with another company. Please avoid using CMHK

Scam - Continuous charging

When i was staying in china for a short period, china mobile advise to get this sim card as it is prepaid. Then adter we travel around china they advised you have to go back to the same place before you can cancel the service. The company is a scam and dont allow to cancel. They just keep charging. Avoid at all cost.

Scam. I used their prepaid Sim. The available data just randomly dissappeared. Re-bought additional data but never got it, despite paying for it.

ORDER 22199962 YUNNAN,TIBET,SICHUAN.

ORDER 22199962 YUNNAN,TIBET,SICHUAN.
we are just back from our 3 weeks trip in China, started on 30th September 2023.
On September 13 th, after a chat with the customer service, I decided to try the 12 months package plan with 200min and 12GB internet.
Since day one I noticed the sim was linking to CM LINk network with full signal for calls, but no 4-5G internet signal.
I tried to switch off on the phone, roaming off/on, several time, nothing.
I have sent several time text message to 10086 by texting CHECK. the messages were promptly returned with the outstanding balance.
Still , no internet.
I contacted customer services in different days , informing of the issues. Everytime I was told to wait their feedback within 48hrs (never received a call).
Also, everyday, I was receiving calls from uknown UK numbers. Everytime an auto message in chinese (a chinese friend confirmed saying your number is working abnormally).

This ended up with having no way to use internet, not even for local A-MAP app (chinese one).
At this point I suggest everyone needing internet for China to buy directly in the airport in China. For Chendgu there is no sim sold in the Airport so, better buy an ESIM, like NOMADS (This need to be activated before entering in CHINA though, so it couldn't be an option for us)
We survived with hotel wifii, TRIP.COM, bing.com and AMAP screenshots, to show location to taxi drivers etc..
Good luck to all nomads like us

I bought a China Mobile SIM card for my…

I bought a China Mobile SIM card for my short stay in Hong Kong... I paid HKD 78 and it advertised unlimited usage for 7 days.... After I registered I had to submit my passport page but there is no internet... I think they need to manually activate my account... I only have 3 days left and so far I still don't have data and have waited a day already.... It is a scam!

A bad joke

Messed up registration at first, then wasted an hour of my life because they couldn't cope with a non-English letter in my name. Service was unstable at best, quite slow, with several instances of the data network service ceasing for days for no good reason. When I wanted to stop my subscription, I was informed that I had to go to Beijing to do that because that's where I started it. You have to physically go to the city you started your subscription in before you can terminate it. No joke. Also no way to stop payment from the app.
AVOID.
