DO NOT!!

DO NOT!!! FIND SOMEONE BETTER!! Choice is the WORST!! They have no problem taking your money but do not want to fix anything when you need them to! My AC units has been out for a month and a half and they’ve sent out people 4 times! One unit needs to be replaced per the Vendors and the other maybe can be fixed. They keep sending people out expecting a different diagnosis because they do not want to fix the problem! They are a scam and a joke!

Delays, lowball payouts, and no accountability

I've had nothing but frustration with Choice Home Warranty. My kitchen faucet and garbage disposal failed and caused a leak, and the claim sat stuck on "Appointment Set" for days with zero communication.

When the technician finally came, they offered just $50 toward a customer-supplied faucet replacement, then charged a $135 "modification fee" that was never explained. My plumber told me it was just an extra hour of labor, no new lines, no extra parts, in a clear, easily accessible spot. Charging that much for a routine install with zero explanation felt like a scam.

The service advisors push their own third-party providers instead of listening to the customer, and the service fee is non-refundable even if the provider won't do the work or explain their charges. Ask Choice why, and they send you to the provider; ask the provider, and they send you back to Choice. It's a circular runaround with no accountability, and reps get noticeably cagier the moment you push for real answers.

Worst of all, the leak damaged my cabinets and required waterproofing, and Choice refused to cover any of it as "secondary/consequential damage." So I paid monthly premiums for a warranty that left me filing a separate homeowners insurance claim just to fix damage their own covered failure caused.

Save yourself the headache. Between the delays, lowball reimbursements, hidden fees, and finger-pointing, this company does not deliver on the protection it promises.

TWO claims and two denials despite the service guys saying it shoud be covered. Here is one letter after a denial.
I have talked to an appeal member, Sean Williams , from the CHOICE HOME WARRANTY group. They offered me $100 and have no intentions of replacing the unit despite the facts from 2 registered service professionals in Virginia verified the issue is normal wear and tear. Their claim is "un-normal use which voids the replacement. If turning on a unit to 73 degrees each year to cool a house and have a AC group maintain the unit at my cost each year is neglect or un-normal use then this group is shady at best and needs to be shared with the public at large with this complaint.

I have called your claims dept and has been waiting for a return call, its been 2.5 hours and still no return call, I had a bad experience such as this with Service Pro so I decided to go with your company because of your rating but I see you are just as bad as Service Pro when it comes to claims, but you are good in taking my payment every month

I put in two tickets one for microwave and one for ice maker, The parts to the ice maker had to be ordered. I received conflicting emails saying be available on Monday 8/24/26 between 8-5p for tech. I then received a notice that the repair has been delayed. After setting on hold for approximately 15 mins I finally get the answer that I will be rescheduled when the part comes in not sure when. The microwave is built in and I told your service that it was, the tech shows up and states they are unable to service since it was built in. I am purchasing a new one AND will have it put in on my own. Not happy with all this confusion and lack of proper communication.

I was offered an even better deal than I thought I would get with my purchase - and Simon Louz arranged for an even better offer than I thought possible!

I'm definitely telling my kids and siblings about CHOICE HOME WARRANTY - I see now why they have the highest ratings at 9.8 out of 10!

Unprofessional, slow, denied claims

Each service tech will been no where near professional and hound you for their $75 before they even do anything. Claims department is completely incompetent and resolution team just likes to argue with the customer. Scheduling is on the service tech terms, therefore do not expect fast resolutions for your issues, Choice Warranty is just “an uber” and “not an emergency service” so if your water heater or HVAC go out (although these are things they allegedly cover) don’t think they are going to get you taken care of within a week, so enjoy no a/c in summer or heat in winter. Oh but they might push reimbursement route on you as a “solution” just to then to completely deny your reimbursement or given you partial reimbursement based on what they deemed “a reasonable price” or at “their cost” of what they typically pay their techs. Overall you spend way to much for them to cover nothing, issues not resolved in a timely manner, unprofessionalism throughout the company. Safe to say I recommend Choice Home Warranty to no one.
