Misleading information and poor handling of service issues:
We ordered fiber optic internet service from CIK Internet. After checking our postal code, we were initially told that our address was eligible for 50 Mbps fiber optic service. Later, this was changed to 25 Mbps, which was already disappointing.
The bigger issue is that instead of fiber optic equipment, CIK sent us a DSL modem that works over copper wiring, even though fiber optic service was clearly mentioned on our receipt. This made it clear that fiber optic service was not actually available at our address.
When we contacted customer service and asked for a return label, since the wrong modem was sent due to their mistake, they refused to provide one and asked us to pay for the return shipping ourselves.
In the end, it became obvious that CIK did not have fiber optic service available, yet they still sold it to us. This experience felt misleading and poorly handled, from the initial eligibility check to customer support and returns.
I would not recommend this service based on our experience.
I started with them Oct 17 2025. They didn't have a van ready. Picked up by a guy named Arshpreet Singh. He was an immature kid. He often bragged he didn't care about the company. He had a friend in underground construction and said he didn't care and it was cool attitude. Arshpreet before cable worked under the table in Canada illegally at Dominos pizza. I had a manager I could hardly understand his English named Svilen Asenov. He mumbled a lot and couldn’t understand him. Others including ingersoll managers said the same thing. He was a manager but would come to site in sneakers, sweat pants and a helly hansen jacket. The jacket looked female. He would not wear a hard hat or safety vest on site. Poor example. Svilen got me a splicer after 2.5 weeks. I never got a proper running truck for a month. No generator, no ladder, no harness, no hand tools, power meter, indentifer. No safety gear hard hat, safety glasses. No power in the back or heat to splice. I worked with Arshpreet and Micheal and every day told to sit and do nothing. Improper management. Arshpreet would try to sleep in the back of the van while getting paid. Arshpreet seemed afraid of Canadian winters and climbing 28 foot extension ladders. Not good if you a true fiber optic splicer in Canada. He didn't know much and said he was doing it 4 years. He once referred to a tool called an Identifer that checks signal as a clicky thing. He wasn't good on an otdr.
After 2.5 weeks Svilen my manager came onsite and said to give me a hard hat. Something you should get on the first day. Arshpreet gave me a broken hard hat with the liner inside broken and it wouldn't sit in the hard hat shell. Arshpreet just kissed up to Svilen to save his job. The company was totally unsafe from signage to book 7 to cvor. They had 6 guys doing a 1 or 2 man job in vaults or pulling cable. Arsh was bragging and laughing that the underground crew used 6 guys to do one flower pot.
This is the worst company I have ever used in my entire life. To explain, I wanted to pay my last payment and not use the remaining service and go with another provider. The customer service is FORCING me to pay the breach of contract because i didnt want to use the remaining month that I PAID for. So now, i have to cater to them before leaving.
I was with CIK Telecom for five years, and it was a nightmare from start to finish. Constant connection problems, slow internet, and terrible customer service. They never explained basic things like how to change my Wi-Fi password, then asked me for it when I tried to fix it. Even canceling was a hassle — I had to pay $30 just to return their equipment.
Keep away from them.
worst isp I have ever used. Be prepared to get 20% of what you paid for. Slow download speeds, constant disruptions. At one point, It disconnected me during an important interview.
Just horrible. Be prepared to reboot every 20-30 minutes. Don’t waste your time. You will regret it
Wifi was super slow (getting like 2000 ping in league) and a Bell technician came to fix things up. Wifi was speed was fixed, but what do you know? Wifi starts to turn off for hours at a time : D Unlimited, are you serious?? I just hope that my wifi stays up... for another few minutes :[]
Now there apparently could be a problem with the WIFI device running at home... I don't know if these are just coincidences, or if CIK is just one big bad scam.
Possibly a SCAM by some Indians. Please do not fall for this. You will lose money as well as your self respect. I cancelled mine as it did not work and returned all their equipment. They falsely claimed that I did not include the router in the Canada Post package. They did not refund me the cost of equipment and now I noticed they are still billing me monthly service inspite of acknowledging by email that the service is cancelled.
Despite their slogan, they don't care about their customers. They can leave you without internet for days. You have to call them 100 times, they can put you on hold for an hour in hope you go away. Their support is hardly talking English and incompetent. They don't track what they sold to you and when you are cancelling with them - selling you that device again. Their billing department cannot find paid invoice with the proof of sale, you have to find it yourself. When you send them their device, pay for the shipping and provide them with the tracking number, in a week you will be charged for that device anyway (even if you prove that it is delivered) and will not get any refund or response! Avoid them at all cost!
I finished my service and sent the device back, but Ciktel is falsely claiming that I have another device which I have never possessed and referring me to collections.
I would never use this service, they are liars and thieves.
I have signed up with CIK because they provided the cheapest bundle plans for me in Markham and their office is not far from where I live. So far their service has been good and I have been saving a lot on my bills.
For starters CIK is borderline scamming you, I bought a 75/mbs download speed internet plan not only do I not get 75 download speed, I don't even get half of that. My download speed is 6/mbs and my upload speed don't even get me started on that. As I frequent gamer I can safely say that if you use CIK you are doomed in games. Averaging a whooping 60 ping before 6PM and 80+ ping after 6PM. Don't be fooled by what CIK tells you, they bottleneck your internet after 6PM no doubt about it. Overall CIK is about the worst internet company ever, unless you like waiting a whole week for a file to download I suggest staying away from this company.
I give CIK between 3 to 4 out of 5.
I've been using CIK for many years now. I can't say the internet is great all the time. For the most part, the internet is very quick and we have unlimited internet. When the internet is down, it's VERY slow but that only happens occasionally (e.g. max is once to twice a week). Honestly, it's really good for the price. You can't expect too much for the the price it's at. You got to compare apples to apples.
From what I understand, they use Bell's internet network. Don't quote me on this.
Their customer service is very good. People are very quick, polite and efficient. They have a Mandarin speaking line for anyone that can't speak english.
I like being with CIK. I don't really want to switch out any time soon... unless they hike up prices.
