I’m extremely disappointed with Citi Bank. I purchased a refrigerator from Best Buy for $2,047.99 (total with tax: $2,249.41). After exchanging for a cheaper model, my remaining balance was supposed... See more

Opened up the Citibank Best buy credit…
Opened up the Citibank Best buy credit card back in November out of a $2,000 order $163 was not refunded to my credit card so hope for almost over 2 months now I've been battling with Citibank and Best buy to refund some money that should never have been taken out of my account Citibank told me they wouldn't do anything until a month went by so here we are two months later Citibank flat out lie to me and told me they contacted Best buy that I was disputing the charge after spending hours on the phone with Best buy I found out the Citibank has never contacted them in any way shape or form until 3 days ago after about the 8th or 9th person I talked to at Citibank she even confirmed it was never sent to Best buy the lack of caringness I think I've dealt with it Citibank shows they are a horrible company they don't care about their customers All they care about is regardless they're going to get that money or they're not either you're going to fix the problem or you're not they're not going to help you I have to talk to supervisor about a month ago was refused. 2 months for for money that should never have been on my bill. I've had Capital One for years those people are friendly they do what they say they're going to do not Citibank at so 2 months later I still have not got that refund after a contacting Best buy and finding out again they never contacted them so I canceled the credit card today it will hurt my credit but it will be better than dealing with the company that obviously has no sympathy for their customers or trying to help them. In my opinion it is the worst customer experience I've experienced as an adult in dealing with credit cards in or loans or anything. I'll place money that nobody from Citibank ever reaches out about any one-star reviews they get.
Wish I could vote zero star
Wish I could vote zero star. Beyond awful. The chat interface doesn't work. The systems are not connected, so activity in one place is not registered in another. Agents can't actually help, so you end up having to write letters, like a savage from a bygone age. Go somewhere else.
At Risk of Piling On
CitiCard, a new addition to the wallet, was fraught from day one. For starters, the website needs a remake, the Chat functionality has never worked, its customer service team is offshore and difficult to hear and decipher, and last but not least, navigating Citi's VM prompts is torturous. After failing to link a payment account, things got worse. We made a substantial overpayment. Citi insisted the account from which the funds were drawn did not exist in its records. Reporting the mistake, a card rep erroneously claimed the automated bank system would not accept an overpayment exceeding $100.00. The Five-Figure overpay-the difference between what was due and what was received-was to be returned to the cardholder by check and only via regular mail. The Citicard will not be used again.
One frustration after another
One frustration after another. I tried calling customer service and had to call different numbers and talk to 4 different people before they fixed the issue. Then, the website wouldn't let me complete a registration without going "paperless." I don't want to go paperless and now I have to wait a couple of billing cycles for them to fix it!!!! TERRIBLE!!
I am a customer that has never missed…
I am a customer that has never missed payment or been late. I called in Sept to see if i can change my due date by one week 7th vs 14th. I have been told that due to the billing cycle they can't at that time but to call at the beginning of Oct. I called Oct and they put a request in to the appropriate dept. Told me to call Nov 1st. I called Nov 1 and was told they still can't change it. Then after still speaking with that same rep he said he could. He said my next due date would be due Dec. I confirmed 4 times with this rep so my Nov payment isn't due. He said no, due to the date change it skips a cycle. I believed this because my Discover card did skip a payment. I asked the rep when will this info reflect on my acct and he said Nov 16. So now i am online looking at my account only to find i owe two payments (as if i have skipped a payment). I only skipped it because the rep swore that i could. I call to resolve this and the best they can do is say pay my normal 154 and they can make payment arrangements on the other 208. Uhm, I don't need yet another bill and i already pay my minimum due. Why should i have to pay payments, its not my fault. I spoke to collections, customer service who i told i didn't want payments i wanted it fixed, then another dept for payment arrangements which i said i didn't want and she sent me back to customer service. The 4th transfer he says he can't hear me but yet responds correctly to what i say. I just hugn up at this point. I will find a card to transfer my balance to. This company does not care about its customers, apologies every second after they speak over you and not willing to work with people. Id advise you to RUN...don't get this card.
Had a Tractor Supply card
Had a Tractor Supply card , had medical issues , they destroyed my credit, even though I paid them off, would not give me a break on my credit reports, after requesting a Good Faith removal, I hope Citi Executives get cancer and see how it affects their lives. This company can suck a Dirty Richard

The customer service just hang up on me…. What a service..
Terrible experience
Terrible experience! I have a small business and 10 years ago my banker sold me a line of credit via a checkbook. I’ve never used it and decided to close it since it costs me $100/year. After many frustrating attempts to close it, I found out there was about $8,000 worth of fraudulent charges. They were willing to forgive about $3,000 but I was liable for the rest, even though a good chunk of those fraudulent charges were committed through Citibank. This has been an ongoing battle for most of this year. As a minority, female, small business owner, I never thought my own bank would screw me. I’ve had my personal and business accounts with Citibank for over 20 years. It’s been infuriating and stressful to deal with them. The only positive experience will be the utter happiness I feel when I close my account and be done with Citibank.
Worst Company in the world!!
Applied for their citi double cash card the other day and was denied! My credit score is in the high 700"s. Claimed a Bankrupt in 1999. Please keep in mind I have 4 other open citi Bank credit cards with well over $25,000 combined credit limit since the bankrupt which were opened in 2010 and have reestablished a good relationship with them ( at least I thought!) no late payments and perfect credit and a long banking relation dating back to 1998. Well all 3 of my credit bureau's are excellent with no Bankruptcies. Called to see why I was not approved guess what now they claim they want the money back from the bankruptcy that's their reason. Bunch of crooks that's illegal. Guess the last 12yrs of great transactions with this company does not count!! Don't waste your time with these people the Underwriter went back 24yrs after approving 4 other previous credit cards since 2010! There are plenty of great credit cards to choose from>>!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's up with the 1-star reviews?
I am responsible with my spending, have excellent credit, and make my payments on time with autopay, have gotten hundreds of dollars back with rewards (Double Cash VISA), and never any issues. Just a good experience. They even caught a fraudulent charge before I did!
I don't know what's up with all the 1-star reviews here?! Are they losers? Dead-beats? Paid cranks?
I recommend their Double Cash and Costco VISA cards. And if you're responsible like me I expect you'll have as good experience with them as you would with any bank! No complaints. :-)
I WISH "NO STARS" WAS AN OPTION!
I WISH "NO STARS" WAS AN OPTION!! THIS TERRIBLE BANK HAS TOLD ME- THE ACTUAL CARD HOLDER THAT I AM A FRAUD AND BLOCKED MY ACCOUNT WHILE I AM TRAVELING ABROAD!!!!
I CALLED FROM THE NUMBER ON FILE AND ANSWERED ALL SECURITY QUESTIONS PROPERLY AND YES THEY DECIDED TO FREEZE AND THEN BLOCK MY ACCOUNT!!!!
Do not bank with Citi!
Do not, do not, do not open an account or credit card with Citi. The other negative reviews are accurate. Their help desk/chat support is horrible. I've had a terrible time trying to close my checking account and have also needed to dispute a charge on my credit card and it's been weeks + several chats/phone calls and still no resolution.
Be aware of Late/Interest on your CITI Credit Card
We have a CITI Costco Credit Card. We have it setup for Bill pay via Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo sent the last payment on Aug 18 with a due date of Aug 20. CITI did not post the payment until August 22, CITI is charging us $2.45 in interest and a $40 late fee! CITI will not remove these late/interest fee because this has already happen once before this year! I do not recommend using any CITI Credit Cards. We will be cancelling this CITI Credit Card!
Do yourself a favor and cut off any…
Do yourself a favor and cut off any relationship with them. The customer service is nonexistent practically. You have to wait for 15+ minutes to talk to someone and 50% of the time they are useless. When you make multiple purchases in a short time, they will block the account and again you have to call them to unlock it. 95% of the time the dispute page doesn't function by prompting a temporarily unavailable message. Their dispute team is absolutely useless and never reply to your emails even if you have everything ready and have sent multiple inquires. Their system discourages you to pay off a balance near the due date. Even if you manage to do so, there will be a delay and you still can't pay the balance off. At the end of the day they blame you to have a balance. They gave me very low credit limit initially compared to other issuers and the yearly increase is meager. I am closing every account I got with them and move on to better banking partners.
Hard to withdraw money
I setup an account to store some cash while waiting to purchase a home and then when it came time to withdraw my money it was very difficult. There were very small limits on the amount that could be transferred at a time and had to pay fees to end multiple wires to myself. If you need to closeout your account and need the funds make sure you leave at least 3 weeks to do so.
Problematic Foreign Cust. Supp.
For credit cards, 2% cash back is as good as it gets in the market. However, customer support is their weak link. It's completely foreign-based so the language barriers and poor phone connections are problematic.
Customer Care That Really Helped Me Out
Sold an iphone and the money transfer went via osko and for some reason it wasn't showing up in my commonwealth account. Waited a few days and then called up the below average commonwealth care account and they couldn't see anything and said they would raise a case and it would take up to 21 business days to get back to me.
I have a Citi account and another one so I thought I would call up and ask if they could help me. Within a few minutes the customer care person said yup I can see your osko account is registered to your other account. Took Citi less than 3 mins to help me when the bigger Comm Bank care member had no idea transferred me to the online team and then the online team submitted a ticket that would take a month for them to get back to me...
Great experience with Citi Bank
Terrible
Terrible. Everytime I HAD to call I got people who I couldn't understand; who had a bad headset and I couldn't hear and do not know their job or their company. Yesterday I called to close my account and was told it would be 10-15 business days PLUS mail time to receive MY MONEY. I finally just did a wire transfer, for which I was charged. I was on the phone for nearly 5 hours throughout three grueling multi hour calls. They would transfer me and I would end up in Loan Dept. They would transfer me and I ended up in Credit Card Dept. Then the wire didn't go through and they transfered me to Security where I couldn't hear them and had to call back and was told they do not have a Security Dept. DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT HERE; YOU'LL HAVE A VERY HARD TIME GETTING YOUR MONEY OUT! I had the account for 1 1/2 years with over $100K deposited and their terrible processes, terrible customer service are why I am closing the account.
I love citi bank my first credit card was from citi bank , This bank is perfect to me. (Friendly) Team.
My Review about citi credit card is excellent, My first credit card ever was opened by citi bank, My opinion about citi is not extremely bad, Citi bank is an international bank So you have deal with thim with international Standards, Citi bank have different kinds of credit card and all of them is perfect, They give you a nice offer of all your cards, They increase your credit as soon as they know you paid on time, the issue of Citi bank as I have before is customer service which they speak overseas some times they doesn't know how to solve the issue but I fully understand because it's international bank, they have also horrible processing when you apply for loan, they do hard inquiries and sent you preapproval then you find rejection it's happening to most of the people I know So don't go with preapproval application, The second issue is some times they do flag alert on one of your credit but due to international security, it's better to go nearest branch to Solve your Issue The app is very good and easy,Ali NOUR
