If I could give zeros stars I would. Ive used nice & easy for years and the recent changes in formula and ultra gloss condition is terrible. The quality of the condition has gone down so much and i... See more

DO NOT BUY CLAIROL'S NICE N EASY…
DO NOT BUY CLAIROL'S NICE N EASY AMMONIA-FREE DYE!! Followed the instructions to the letter (I've been dying my hair for over 20 years, so this isnt my first rodeo). I think they've recently released their ammonia-free dye because this was the first time I used it and it is also THE ABSOLUTE LAST. I left the dye in for 10 mins whilst I was writing some emails but could feel liquid running down my cheek. You can go to my X account (ida_neda) for the photos of what it did to my skin. The stains were still prominent 3 days later and one new hair wash later. It's an abysmally bad product and I cannot believe it's been allowed onto the market.
Semi/P colour
Iv been using this product for years, absolutely fantastic. The new version is terrible. Left my hair tacky and sticky, too dark. I'm on the 5th shampoo and hoping my hair feels normal again. I certainly won't be buying again. Why change this product for the worst iv ever used.
Far too dark!!
I have been using casting light brown no ammonia hair colour for years and it’s always look fab even my hairdresser commented on the colour! This new formula is so much darker it’s ridiculous. It’s not a light brown but a dark one! Don’t like the formula it’s itchy and although it’s natural not good on the skin. Why oh why have u changed the formulas??? Won’t be buying again will try another brand like most of the folks on here who are all unhappy with your changes to the products. Why can’t you just leave things alone that sell!!
Dreadful product! I've used the original nice n easy semi
I've used the original nice n easy semi permanent dark ash blond no 90 for the last 10 years applying to my roots and brushing through the rest of my hair every 3/4 weeks. The result has always been brilliant with many compliments. The new tone and gloss semi permanent product no longer does my colour so I decided to try the medium ash blond. The result is appalling. The product was horrible to use, very runny and difficult wash out. The colour is awful. It left my hair feeling dry and clumpy. Give us loyal customers back the product and colour we've loved for so long.
Same box of colour, different result
I loved the light auburn colour last time but after the dying it with the same colour (or so I thought) the colour is completely different, no longer the light ginger colour but now a darker purply red. :(
Very disappointed !!…
I have used Clairol semi permanent hair colour for years. No problem, until recently when the formula has obviously been changed. My hair, despite thorough rinsing, was left tacky and gluey. I had to rewash it with a gentle shampoo to get rid of the gluey result. I will not be buying this again !! Sooo disappointed.
Just used the no bleach platinum 'lifts…
Just used the no bleach platinum 'lifts 5 shades' and what a joke. I have pastel pink and my roots were brassy, I wanted to just lift the roots. Didn't even do that for all the burning it did, it didn't lift ONE shade lighter, never mind 5. You shouldn't be allowed to sell it. False advertisement! Damaged my hair with your crap for NOTHING!
Worse hair colour ever
Worse hair colour ever. Last few years i tried this brand for many times and each time i thought ok it didn’t suits my hair or colour but this time is last time i ever spend any money on this brand. Whatever colour you buy makes your hair super dark. Even i bought blonde number 9and my hair is honey brown( too bright).
This brand is aweful, too watery and colour never match or close to the one it says.
Purchased Blonde root touch up at…
Purchased Blonde root touch up at £8.99. That was a waste of money tried it and I now have murky dark brown roots. Did expect Blonde to blend in lighter not go brown. Don't waste your money on this.
I have used Clairol Nice'n Easy No…
I have used Clairol Nice'n Easy No Ammonia Hair Dye, 96 Lightest Golden Brown for years and it is no longer available. I have read bad reviews about the recommended alternative so too nervous try. Hair is so important to confidence and using a colour that doesn’t suit is maybe worse than the grey hairs! I really just want to use the colour I get compliments on. I don’t know why they have to make changes but I hope if enough people ask it will come back. (. Sat here with a skin sample of ‘Amber blonde’ on my arm which is bright purple!? Won’t be using that one 🤦🏻♀️) If anyone had found a successful dupe, I hope you can post it
I’ve used the semi permanent nice and…
I’ve used the semi permanent nice and easy colour dye no ammonia for years and it’s always made my hair great and shiny with many compliments. Now they’ve changed it and it’s horrible, my hair is dry and dull. Very disappointed and will have to find another product. Why have clairol done this?!
Allergic reaction to new formula
I have been using nice and easy semi permanent light ash brown for 15 years. I was allergic to all other hair dyes and this was the only one I used and it was amazing! Now the new packaged product is terrible. I had a very bad allergic reaction which I informed clairol of. I am absolutely gutted that they changed the formula of a perfectly good product so many relied on. I will never use this again and beware it leaves hair sticky and the colour isn’t true as it used to be. Shame on you all at clairol for messing up a brilliant product for no doubt a cheaper alternative.
No results!
I tried using Clairol Root Touch-up Color Blending gel in dark brown with no results. I have fine textured hair which typically takes up color very well. I use a permanent color on the rest of my hair. I followed the directions to the letter and tried twice. The color rinsed out COMPLETELY with no discernible color to my gray roots.
Changed Formulation for the Worse
I have been using shade 81 Mahogany for the last 3 years and loved it's vibrant glossy colour. I have just used the re formulated product of the same number. IT IS NOT THE SAME COLOUR AND IVE BEEN LEFT WITH BLAND BORING BROWN HAIR WHICH FEELS ROUGH TEXTURED.
I HATE IT. WHY THE HELL HAVE YOU CHANGED IT INTO AN INFERIOR PRODUCT AND MISLED YOUR CUSTOMERS? WILL NOT BUY AGAIN AND WILL CHANGE TO A RIVAL BRAND.

I used Tone+Gloss shade 78- it did ruined my hair. After applying this hair dye - my hair was sticky, messy, greys didn't get covered as good as with old product. Will not use it again ever. SHAME
New formula gives poor results
I am very disappointed in the changes that have been made to Nice n Easy semi permanent hair colour. Now 96 is no longer available and after reading all the very damning reviews I wondered what the results would be if I tried a similar but lighter colour. Not surprisingly, the results were far too dark, even though I left the product in 5 minutes less than the instructions. Now after very few washes my grey shows. This never happened with the original product. Time to look for a different brand. It seems the company are on a downward spiral putting profit before quality and therefore losing valued customers.
I have been using Clairo permanent hair…
I have been using Clairo permanent hair color on my roots for over 10 years with no problems. I had long hair that I received many compliments on. I used the new packaged Clairol 6AA and 7AA. The color was no longer Ash. When rinsing my hair, it always had a purpleish tint to the color. Now it was showing strong pink tones in the rinse water. But worst of all it fried my hair! It had the smell of a permanent wave solution. And the smell did not go away, no matter how many times I shampooed. And then my now frizzy hair began to break off. A total mess and so damaged no conditioner would help. The only solution was to cut it off. I now have shoulder length hair where I had mid back hair before. What has Clairol done to its formula!?
Disastrous new formula
I would like to know what Clairol propose doing about the new formulation. They had a perfectly good non-permanent product that worked very fast and lasted a really long time. Maybe that was the problem for them as they wanted to maximise profit. This new formula (dark brown) lightened my natural hair colour and washed out on the greys after one wash!
On a follow up.
On a follow up.. the hair dye 79/400 practically washed out after the first wash, I have embarrassing ginger hair, it look terrible, the horrible mess when dying could have been almost acceptable if the product had done its job but it is beyond terrible across the board for a hair 'dye' the old 79 was so good! Mine second box is going in the bin.
Worse dye I have ever used
I have used 79 semi permanent for years, bought the new one, just thought it was new packaging, this new one is awful, rinsed for a very long time but just seem not to rinse out, it left my hair sticky and dull not soft and silky like the old one, roots not covered as good as the old dye, will see how long it lasts,
I bought 2 for £10 and the other one will be going in the bin,
I will never use this new one again, such a shame they couldn't leave the old one as it was, they are going to lose alot of customers with this new formula,
