So, here’s the lowdown: Welcome to the paradox that is Cloak. We masquerade as a clothing brand, but let's cut through the chatter. We're an uprising in apparel form, dreamt up by the one and only Markiplier. Think of us not just as a brand, but as a conspiracy of the creative, hidden in plain sight for those in the know. Our mission has been clear from the start: to reveal the extraordinary hidden within the ordinary. And here you are, proof of our success. You’re here because you’re smart, sly, and a bit of a rule-breaker—just our type. You’ve stumbled upon the inner circle, and trust us, it’s no accident. So, feel free to let the cat out of the bag, or don’t. Your call, as long as they’re as cool as you. So, here’s the lowdown: Welcome to the paradox that is Cloak. Customer service is terrible
I have had a Cloak hoodie in the past and it has been wonderful. However, I ordered another hoodie at the start of July this year. 2 months later, I have not received any updates on my order, and I have not had any replies from customer service after emailing them twice. I'm sure that the hoodie will come eventually and will be great, but it feels like the company is not as helpful as they once were. The point of Customer Service is to serve customers!!
Tragic slip in the company’s quality.
It’s sad because the first year Cloak launched, their products were amazing. Well stitched hoodies, nice thick materials for the joggers (I have 2 items from 2020 I believe). Fast forward two years and you can visibly see the difference in material and quality between hoodies and joggers from the 2020 pride collection and hoodies and joggers now. Cheaper, less comfortable, and tear easier. And this is coming from someone who has ordered 3 mystery boxes, and products from a handful of different collections. I’ve bought towels, joggers, hoodies, tees, blankets, notebooks, etc. I’ve supported the company for years and it’s sad that my recent experience this year has been so bad. The products are visibly cheaper and less comfortable than they used to be. Not to mention the pisspoor quality notebooks. I got a notebook from this years pride collection and the notebook I kid you not, it fell apart at the seams the first time I tried to journal with it. The cover completely came off the pages, and the pages tear off with extreme ease. Disappointing given how much they charge for products. Only products I’ll maybe still order are the sweatshirts, Tees and blankets, because they seem to be of good quality. Definitely don’t recommend the hoodies, joggers, bomber jackets, towels, and notebooks.
Mystery Box Review - Disappointing
Recently purchased the mystery box. Incredibly disappointing. An Elden Ring shirt, and Elden Ring blanket, some stickers and a notebook. $88 plus $10 shipping for truly sub par products with no variety. I legit feel like I just helped them clear out the stuff that didn't sell, because it was ugly. Which I guess is on me, because that's what mystery boxes tend to be - but I expected more from this brand.
Completely disappointed
Completely disappointed. Ordered a T-Shirt for my daughter, who is a huge Markiplier fan, in April. Never was informed that there was an issue. Had to email three times only to be told that the shirt was sold out! It wasn't sold out when I placed the order and they took my money. Never doing business again. Wouldn't be so upset if consumers would be informed of issues. Had I not started questioning my order, they would have just kept my money. That's not how you treat customers!
Shipping Over and Over Again
I'm not one for reviews but the shipping for this website is atrocious. It's the 7th of July. I ordered on April 10th. I got three items but only received one. Which took a month and a half to arrive.
They separated my order into two packages, which is just weird cause they're all small. Anyways after reaching out about my two other items they sent me another tracking code. The tracking code isn't the shipping company the first code used, first one was UPS this one was USPS. Anyways I waited another couple weeks and checked the tracking history.
My package had been processed in my country 11 times. Why would it take 11 times to get a hat and an iron on patch?? I was confused but hoping since it was finally here I would see my €110 order.
No. I still haven't. Turns out when I looked at my tracking history yesterday that it was SENT BACK TO LOS ANGELES. It's beyond frustrating. I've had to email with support and now hopefully after "updating" my exact same shipping address, hopefully in another month I'll actually get my order.
The site needs to get their shipping in order. I ordered off multiple sites after cloak and received it in a week or two. It's not worth it.
I ordered a XL
I ordered a XL, received an XXXL, they declined an exchange, which is fair I guess because they may have no stock left of the right size but they are making me pay for shipping back, in total, im paying over 30 dollars for nothing.
EDIT: Upon further consultation, they agreed to let me get the correct size free of charge. I am still docking 1 star due to the mixup and the fact that the item I purchased does feel to be a bit on the cheaper side.
Disappointed, but oh well.
I've ordered product from CLOAK many times over the years. In the beginning, I never really had much of an issue with the hoodies that I had ordered. They arrived within a week or two, they fit comfortably, the material was thick and comfortable. But I've noticed that the quality of the merchandise has significantly decreased over the last couple of years. I have a sensory disorder, so when I receive product that has been made with very stiff, sticky, or rough material, I usually donate it or give it away.
The main issue I have with this company is the shipping timeframe. What used to take a few days to ship out now takes a month or two, or even longer, which I can understand- to a degree. With COVID, it's hard to receive materials. But with how often they put out new drops, you'd think they would have everything made and ready to ship by the time they tease customers with pictures/videos of the merchandise in the first place.
Last month around the 6th, I ordered some of the ISWM merch that was released, and unfortunately I'm still waiting to receive my order. I never received any tracking information, so I'm not sure when to expect an arrival. I've sent multiple emails requesting information, however I haven't received any emails in return. (It could be an issue on my end, I don't have the strongest signal in my home.)
As unfortunate as it is, I don't think I will purchase product from this company for some time.
Too expensive, cheap material
Don’t get my wrong. I adore Sean and Mark. I’ve been watching them for a few years and was stoked to see Cloak come out with hoodies, as I love hoodies. I purchased the Octopus Hidden in plain sight hoodie because of the beautiful design of it, for about $80. Never have I ever, had a hoodie rip and tear so much, or even fray. I’ve had hoodies take such a beating and not fall apart like this one has. Super disappointed because of the price I spent on it. Especially considering I won’t be buying from this brand again in fear of the same happening. Hoodies have gorgeous and amazing designs, but the material is cheap and falls apart too easily, even with following care instructions. I wasn’t worried too much about shipping time, but again, this hoodie would fool someone for being years and years old for all the “wear and tear” it has.
Paid $150 for the Elden Ring Bomber…
Paid $150 for the Elden Ring Bomber Jacket. The only difference between it and the black Rothco bomber is the cloak branding and the ironed on elden ring patch.
The jacket is on amazon for $44 including free 2 day shipping versus what I paid for the same thing.
This is a rip off and really affects what I think about supporting either Markiplier or Jacksepticeye ever again.
Insanely long shipping time, not worth the price
Sweatshirt took nearly two months to ship and another two weeks to be delivered. Insanely overpriced for a mediocre sweatshirt.
Pleased with my purchase
I just received my Cloak purchase. There was no issue with the delivery and i could track my package easily. It took longer than most things as it's coming from America but that wasn't an issue. I like the top, it was a bit thinner than I thought it would be so my only concern in that it won't stand the test of time but we shall see. Overall I am pleased it looks good not sure about the price but as I say if it lasts a long time then it won't matter.
Stained
I ordered the life after death hoodie Dec 13 2021 and it arrived February 11 2022 which isn't really the problem, the issue I have is after waiting all that time it arrived stained! There are blue stains all over this hoodie. For something that cost me almost $80 and took almost 2 months to arrive I expected better.
Horrible Customer Service, Overpriced, and Mediocre Quality
I ordered from the GE drop on Nov. 24. It is Jan. 18 and I just got my products. I had bought the 4 item (hoodie, joggers, hat, and t-shirt) $88 bundle for myself for Christmas, knowing that I would get it a little after Christmas. After not getting anything after the 4 weeks it said shipping would take, I emailed in to the customer service once a week asking for updates after it was posted the 4 week shipping period. The first time I was told by “Kale” it was guaranteed to ship within a week, and if I don’t get a notice to write back to them… I received the same guarantee from “Kale” three weeks in a row before my items shipped. The same copied and pasted response 3 times. After the third time of me emailing in wanting to know what was going on, “Kale” refunded my shipping and 10% of my order, which was fine, but gave me no information as to why it took so long or what was going on. I was told to be patient every single time, which is not something I expected since I’m not a toddler.
Now that I have my products (hoodie, joggers, hat, and t-shirt) I can safely say that they were horribly over priced. I understand that I got them all on sale for $88, but the quality doesn’t even meet the sale price. The lavender shirt is pink and very thin, the crotch of the joggers is almost to me knees and it tight on my calves, the beanie is small and tight (even though I normally wear kids hats lol), and the hoodie is stiff, very thick, and has issues with the stitching on the sleeves (stitching is loose and I haven’t even tried it on yet).
All in all, the hassle of customer service was NOT worth the mediocre clothes. Very disappointed with every aspect of my order. I’m sad to say that I won’t be purchasing again because I really wanted to like this.
Customer Support
i was asked by the customer support team if i wanted to proceed with cancelling my order or have it still be sent out as i was having issues with it, i asked for a cancellation with a refund - they then responded 3 days later saying i can no longer cancel my order as it has surpassed the time for cancellation and the only way id be able to do it was to refuse the order when its shipped to me and a load more hassle despite it not at all being my fault but instead being theirs.
A good company, a couple tips
Ok, so I did give them a poor rating over a year ago. They were a new company and they really didn't have it together. Fast forward, and I think it's time to give an update. My initial complaint was they took 3 weeks just to ship out an item and I got no replies from the company on my many inquiries to my order until I filed a complaint with PayPal which I recommend using for all purchases from websites.
Since that time, I have probably placed another 7 orders. They get my orders out the door in a few days, Christmas takes a little extra. Plan ahead and you won't have a problem. They communicate well now, email updates and easy tracking via their site. I've never heard of any issues with the clothing, my son is the recipient, he's never alerted me to anything durability wise and the material isn't cheap, thin stuff from Walmart.
For those complaining about stock, this company makes a certain number of items and once it's gone, it's gone for good and that is one of the reasons why they are wildly successful, it's a niche market and they've made their clothing elite. One simple way to snag their stuff is to subscribe to their email alerts, they literally tell you when new items drop. I realize that this may not work for some that don't have the extra money when they do drop new merchandise, but I believe PayPal will let you split your payments up, if that helps. As long as my son keeps requesting their clothing, they've got a client in me.
poor shipping time
While customer service was excellent, they did what they could to be fair. It is entirely unreasonable to sell a Halloween item then take three weeks to send it in November. Never mind the customs issues that added a decent cost and a few extra weeks because they never did any customs forms. It was overall a poor experience.
“So damn good”
I was fortunate enough to get some items before the stock went dry. Some Joggers, Tees, and a hoodie. All of which came earlier than scheduled in terms of shipping. The tees are comfortable and light while not looking like im wearing a pillowcase. They actually hug my body like a quality shirt. The joggers are snug and satisfy my thirst for cozy casual pants. And the hoodie is soft, warm, and very comfortable. I have no complaints about shipping, its explained that shipping may take a significant amount of time, so I continued to throw money at cloakbrand. The packaging was enclosed and product undamaged, no production errors I could spot (sewing mistakes, holes, etc.). I would recommend this brand to friends. While some styles are more loved than others, I enjoy my “Not that bad/So damn good” bundle.
Bad quality for price. Holes in every item.
I have ordered from cloak 4 times. Now I probably wouldn't have done so if I had received the first order before making other orders. Once I did receive the first order there were immediate quality issues. The joggers weren't completely sewn so there was a hole and they were worn so thin on the seam on the butt area that there were several holes before I ever even tried them on. I got my money back and assumed it was a one time thing and waited for my other orders. My second order was better, but the pockets still weren't full sewn and there was a small hole. The third order was leggings and they are fine, but don't stay up. My 4th order is my last. I got the long sleeve from the Mythial drop. When it arrived there was a nearly 6 inch hole on one side seam where it wasn't sewn. They sent me a replacement, which I received today, and while it's not AS large, there are loose threads and a hole on the seam. This is a consistent issue that I wouldn't expect from a company that charges $45 for a shirt and $85 or whatever for sweatpants. I will say the shirts from the first 2 orders were fine, minus the stickiness of the print, which was an issue on all items (that didn't bother me nearly as much as all of the holes). I'd expect this from shein where everything is $5-10 but it's just not acceptable. I want to support the brand but I cannot in good conscience when I know how bad the quality is.
Honestly the clothes are nice but stock is horrible
Honestly the clothes are nice. Biggest issue is nothing is ever in stock unless you want a hat. I want to purchase but nothing is ever available. Waste of time.
PW Octo Hoodie
I ordered the PW Octo Hoodie back in June 20th and it didn’t arrive until today (August 11th). When I ordered the hoodie I was so excited because of the design it had on it. When I opened it up, I realized that the design on it was sticky on the inside and stuck to itself in the torso area (front to back) and in the sleeves. I had to try to make it stop sticking to itself but it still was sticky. When I put it on, it was a cool hoodie, very comfortable but it was just the sticky part that was the worse. When I tried taking it off, it was sticking to my shirt and arms and was a struggle to remove. It made me all sticky and it felt very weird. I love Mark and Sean but this is probably one of the most worst quality hoodies I own. Maybe the people who made the hoodies messed up or something but I hope that in the future they don’t make hoodies this bad.
