DO NOT EVER BOOK WITH CMC Property Invenstors 98 Selsey Road b17 8JS

We rented this place at the peak of Covid end of June 2020 for initially 3 months. We were forced to pay a deposit although it was advertised falsely as ZERO deposit, yet I feel Charleen and Carol took advantage of my situation. At the end of September I requested to extend our stay as it still wasn’t clear with the government guidelines, I was told from a monthly rental of £1000 that if I wish to extend it would be £1500 which is a discounted price of £3600. We refused the increased and were literally cornered and rushed to look for another place. Although I am not a front line worker I do work in the health industry and work from home currently. This was never taken into consideration, once we found a place and agreed to vacate by the 31st August (which was a bank holiday) I requested if we can move on the 1st September as our letting agency was closed so we could not get the keys from them. I was informed that the keys on the 1st would be delayed as the landlord had not passed them to the agency and I asked for an extension of 12 noon to vacate the property. We had all our stuff in the car packed and some packed stuff in the front of the living room ( as I could only fit 1 car load at a time) so once we got the keys we can unload and make round two pick and vacate. At 2pm I have a shouting Carol on the phone saying how unacceptable this as there are cleaners in the property and they have guests coming at 3pm and we cannot leave the stuff and I hadn’t told them about the extension. I explained that I am waiting outside the agency and as soon as they get the keys they will pass them to me and I can come to pick up. This was unacceptable as she explained as a good will gesture they gave until 12noon which I understand but we have been good paying tenants due to bank holiday we got extended by a day. I get a call from Charleen and was told I need to pay £120 and pick my stuff up and empty the fridge (as we could not take perishables in the car) by 4pm. To which my partner objected and said if you are charging a day rate then we will move in the morning. She then said I will change you £50 from 2pm-4pm and you need to collect the stuff and leave by 4pm as she has deep cleaners etc. and guests coming. We rushed from town to get to 98 selsey road b16 8js and were out by 3.59pm. My partner collected the stuff we managed to drop stuff at friend’s home nearby and then emptied the fridge. There were around 4 people cleaning without any PPE requirement following no government deadline or guidelines. We were strictly told to leave and were kicked out by 4pm otherwise we will get charged further. In this rush my partner didn’t clean the fridge (although it was not a mess and needed wiping down which he didn’t do due to the cleaners around without PPE and also worried we will get charged extra)

So I paid £1000 rent during the covid period for a 2 bedroom house for 3 months, regularly, left the house cleaned and no valuables were broken and no damage to the property meanwhile when we entered the property the toilet seat was broken, the shower didn’t work for 3 days, heating didnt work for a week, extractor fan in kitchen didnt work, the sewage and drainage clogged up so made the whole house stank. The skirting board near the fire place was all loose not adjoined to the wall. We expected a full refund of the deposit as no property damage was there however I was charged £50 for 2 hours to keep my stuff there and also £25 for not cleaning the fridge. WHICH WAS DEDUCTED UNLAWFULLY FROM MY DEPOSIT. These were charges deducted from a regular paying tenant during covid and instead of giving us relief this company found ways to rip people off expecting us to clean when there were deep cleaners already cleaning the house without PPE and charge us extra time for cleaning if we ran over 4pm. DO NOT EVER STAY AT THIS PROPERTY. CHARLEEN AND CAROL ARE LIARS AND WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR SITUATION.

SHOCKINGLY NOW THEY HAVE A COVID MESSAGE SAYING THEY NO LONGER ACCEPTING BOOKINGS YET TOLD US TO GET OUT AS THEY HAD MONTHS FILLED AND NEEDED DEEP CLEANING FOR GUESTS!!!!!

The country is giving tenants relief and holidays on rent etc., but us being of good characters honored our obligation only to get ripped off. They will rip everyone off do not stay with them and do not reply back to me with and ignorant message 'your will take this feedback for future customers'. Do the ethical thing and refund me my £75.00 which you took from me by lying, fraudulently and by taking advantage of our situation. This is not how you do business and I will be taking this to small courts and also to all the legal bodies out there. You need to be shut down! as your way of doing business is unethical
