I am midway through my SQE LLM in legal practice and could not have chosen a better course provider. My SQE 1 prep module gave me everything I needed to prepare of the exams, and their mock MCQ's are the closest I have seen to the SRA's. I passed FLK 1 and due to resit FLK 2.

The transactional modules are also very interesting and give an insight to what it is like to work in practice.

Dear Bradley, thanks so much for this review of our LLM in Legal Practice. We are delighted to hear that our mock SQE1 questions were similar to the actual exam and that you are finding the other modules interesting and practical. Good luck with your next steps!

10/10 experience so far.

I have been studying with COLP since September 2024 doing the LLM & SQE prep course.

I have been really impressed with the layout of the course and the modules- it doesn't feel overbearing and is manageable around life responsibilities.

I have completed one of my chosen modules which was Intellectual Property and loved this module- It was so different to being taught at undergrad level as it was more engaging and you actually complete assignments where you actually feel like it is developing your skills to ready you for practice. It isn't just about the principles of law but actually applying it to 'fake' clients and getting feedback on your drafting and client focus skills. I'm looking forward to completing my next module in Family Law.

In terms of the SQE prep, I have completed SQE1 prep and sitting in July. In complete honesty, the course is intense but that is simply to prepare you for the reality of the SQE. - I found the support of a personal tutor and the activities on each module to be really engaging and I use it for my everyday revision.

Although this whole course is online, it has been super engaging and I have nothing bad to say about my experience this far. I would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable yet informative and engaging provider.

The GDL at COLP

I’m seven months into the 10 month GDL and I have been really impressed with the support, the learning and the tutors. It has been a lot of work and I have found it very difficult to fit it in around work and family life, however, with it being just ten months, it is just about bearable. It is heavily reliant on self-study supported by workshops and so you need to be able to motivate yourself well! I would say that for a programme that is meant to be part-time (so, one would assume this is aimed at those in work), I was disappointed to find that all the workshops take place in the day, usually around 10am, and although you are able to watch them outside of this, it is underlined that you will not receive the full benefit of the live session. Thankfully I have been able to work late to accommodate the sessions but I did feel the balance could be improved with some sessions being in the evening/weekends. However, that aside, the tutors are knowledgeable and excellent and I feel I am getting a really high standard of teaching, especially bearing in mind the lower fee compared to other providers.

Resourceful

Honestly this was not easy, but the consistency in providing material made me feel resourceful to learn because I had all the materials to learn. Again the lectures was great there actually had time for us, especially my GDL supervisor.

Not great

The content on this course would be great if it was actually taught to the students. Every module I have undertaken to date on the LLM with Sqe 1 and 2 prep have been taught to me by myself with college not even providing adequate resources or information to allow you to complete the tasks provided by them. You will often be given assessments, that do contribute to your grade, being given forms to fill in that you have not before seen or asked to complete tasks on areas you have not been shown

SQE Prep Course Review

I have been studying with the COLP for approx. 8 weeks, into a 20 week SQE preparation course. So far I have been pleasantly surprised with the wealth of resources and the mentoring and feedback provided regularly in a 1:1 and small group setting.

The resources cater to varying preferences, with textbook/ paper ring-binder guides, online videos/ podcasts, flashcards and SBAQs for each subunit.

It is also extremely useful to have a pre-prepared timetable to keep me on track with the content I should be covering each week.

Given the price point, and compared to experiences with other institutions, I would highly recommended!

Graduate Diploma in Law

I recently completed the Graduate Diploma in Law at The College of Legal Practice, and I couldn't be more impressed! From start to finish, my experience has been nothing short of fantastic. The courses are well-structured, combining self-paced learning with live sessions that really cater to all learning styles. The platform is easy to navigate, and the workshops are spot on, making the exam preparation feel as realistic as possible.

A huge shout-out to all the professors, especially Kate, Kathryn, and Charlotte. They truly made my learning experience so much more enjoyable and manageable, even during the more intense parts of the course. Their support, expertise, and encouragement went above and beyond, and I genuinely felt like they cared about my success.

The College of Legal Practice also offers fantastic value for money compared to other providers, which is an added bonus. If you're considering your GDL, LLM or SQE prep, I highly recommend CoLP for their top-notch courses and incredible teaching staff!

LLM - waste of money

The SQE1 modules is okay but certainly does not prepare you well for the actual exam. The elective modules. Well, no support. Very confusing tasks. No feedback. Signing up for the LLM was a complete waste of money (and time). Would not recommend even if offered for free.

The College of Legal Practice is…

The College of Legal Practice is undoubtably a first class college to study the SQE with. Not only are they one of the most affordable, they have an incredible scholarship opportunity, to which I was lucky to receive.

All of the tutors have a great understanding of the law and deliver this in a way that is accessible and easy to follow.

I couldn’t recommend COLP more

Amazing tutors and friendly staff

I took the GDL and SQE1&2 courses with COLP and would recommend them. The courses included the element of independent learning and the tutors' roles in explaining complicated topics and answering questions. At COLP, I met attentive and patient tutors who supported me at each step. I recommend the courses for those who are suitable for self-study. The SQE1 mocks were very similar to those I faced in the real exam.

Would choose COLP again

The material was very good, if a bit too concise and lacking in examples. The MCQs were good, but more would be better, and more complex/hard MCQs would be even better. The disadvantage of an online programme, any programme, is the difficulty of getting questions answered on time. However, most of the professors were very good about responding in a timely fashion. COLP were pretty responsive to any issues we had. I did the 20 week programme, so there were very few classes compared to other programmes. I would recommend it only if you're already on top of your law, i.e, a recent graduate. Otherwise the longer, more paced programme may be more suitable.

The Best Staff and very well Structured Courses

I am going to start my SQE journey with The College of Legal Practice, and I will come here once again to give my review about the academic content and quality after completion of my journey . However, what prompts me to give my review at this time is the staff’s response to my queries, their guidance about course selection, and their honest opinions, taking into account students’ circumstances and academic levels especially SYDNEY SUBRITZY and NICOLA GORDGE.I have done thorough research on different providers, and among all of them, this course is so well-structured and the best. That being said, I will give another review after completing my journey with the college
