Our Auschwitz tour was cancelled by the…

Our Auschwitz tour was cancelled by the provider the day before the visit due to their inability to secure the booking.

They offered an alternative that was completely different from the original experience (and did not include Auschwitz I or Birkenau), which we legitimately refused.

The provider explicitly offered a full refund and confirmed it in writing.
However, despite this confirmation, the refund has not been processed and communication stopped afterwards.

The cancellation was not our fault, the service was not provided, and the refund is still pending.
Very poor handling of a clear situation.

Let down on the day

On the morning of our day trip to Auschwitz we waited 35 minutes for our hotel pick up before being notified that they had been unable to obtain tickets and our trip was cancelled. If the company knows that it is unlikely to be able to secure tickets then they should not accept the booking.

DISREPUTABLE

DISREPUTABLE! BAIT AND SWITCH. We signed up for a 9am Auschwitz tour. It takes 60 to 90 minutes to go from Krakow to the camp. We were texted by this tour group, loyaltyComFort Tours, the night before saying the pick up would now be at 5 AM. When you try to call them as I did about 20 times no one answers. A driver contacts you via text to confirm your 5 AM pick up, but will not speak to you either. To get reserved tickets for Auschwitz it must be done many weeks if not months in advance. To get it closer to the date which we did about a week before, they don’t tell you this, but they basically take you at the crack of dawn for you to wait in line to get your own ticket. The line forms around 5 AM and they don’t sell tickets until 7:30. Then after waiting in line for another hour or so, when you finally get up to the ticket window, you get a timed entrance for much later in the day, so you’re just hanging around with nothing to do. And yes, it’s a guided tour of about 25 people but not by your tour company, but by an official tour guide at the camp. That is the only way they will let you tour Auschwitz. The camp does a really good job. It’s really shameful that this is ComFort Tours modus operandi. I would recommend getting your tickets on the Auschwitz website itself or going through your hotel for someone reputable that won’t pull this on you. Apparently several companies do this.

Our driver was brilliant

Our driver, Jurek, was an absolute delight. Kind, thoughtful annd knowledgeable. Our guide was also very knowledgeable although I think some found her a little quiet.
I would recommend Comfort without a doubt. And we booked last minute.

Damien Fort the owner of this company…

Damien Fort the owner of this company picked us up on time at 8:30am. We collected the other passengers and went direct to the salt mines. We had tickets for a 10:30am tour, but managed to get in on the 9:30am tour.
Our guide was excellent.
Damien was waiting when we came out and took us directly back to where we wanted to be.
My only problem, which I spoke to him about was no message the night before to confirm times, he says he will start doing that in future. We booked through booking.com, but it would have been better to book direct. Booking com do not provide his phone number and says times will be confirmed, he didn't know that, but says he will confirm in future. Thanks Damien

I recently went on a trip to Auchwitz…

I recently went on a trip to Auchwitz with this company. Knowing how long the queues can be there, I booked the trip 3 months in advance. It was a bullseye. I got great service from them and their driver. Clear information and easy contact via WhatsApp. Everything on time, very professional. I can recommend them wholeheartedly!!

This is a scam company

This is a scam company. Tried to scam me and my wife out of £500 for an Auschwitz tour. Sent us very horrible messages after agreeing on the phone to a refund. Luckily our credit card company has taken our side on this one due to the evidence we have. I am friends with 100s of polish men in Yorkshire and they will be giving this man a very hard time in krakow over his actions. We will make sure he is shown to be the fraud that he is

With all due respect but this tourist is misrepresenting the truth and he is doing it on purpose, he called me half an hour after the departure of the tour that he was waiting outside the hotel. I told him that the driver was already on the Motorway and there was no possibility of turning back.
The pick-up time is between 6:30 and 8:00 a.m., he decided to call at 7:30 a.m, while the departure was at 7:00 a.m. He calls me a scammer, writes strange messages. He thinks I want to cheat him of €500. He is some kind of frustrated person.

This company is not a tour company

This company is not a tour company. They "dynamically package" a tour, which means they get you to the attraction and then buy tickets for you whilst you wait. They then return you to your hotel.

We visited Auschwitz and paid for a guide but didn't get one (because it was busy apparently) so they provided a guide book. We also had to go around in the dark because we were picked up late and had to wait around for them to buy tickets when we arrived.

We also used them for the Salt Mines. Don't bother. Book a ticket online and get a taxi (it's 12 km from the old town). We were picked up in a battered and old taxi and then the driver went to buy us a ticket when we got there, but it was busy and we couldn't get in for an hour and a half. There is nothing else to do there.

The company should not take your money without being able to provide what you pay for.
