The Nitrax filter sponge from Juwel is designed to reduce nitrate levels in the aquarium. This in turn helps reduce the amount of algae and helps provide a more healthy aquarium for your fish and plants. Nitrax is also a biological filter containing specialist microorganisms to break down poisonous metabolites in the aquarium. We recommend you change the Nitrax sponge every 2 months for optimum performance. I always use Juwel products for my Juwel filter system. Ordering the right size product is key! Make a note of the letter because not all filters use the same letter for the filter media product, e.g. M or S.
