Like many of the innocent people below, I too received a demand for payment from these SCAMMERS who don't seem to understand that 1. we are in a global pandemic 2. are navigating various lockdowns so may be staying in different locations, 3. any contract I have is with DHL and not with these scammers who are demanding payment of their frivolous 'fees' and 4. I have paid any funds owed as a result of import duty and VAT directly to DHL, so there is no debt, and 5. I did not authorise DHL to share my details with you so this goes against GDPR and Data Protection.
Therefore, stop writing letters to me demanding £11.10 when I have already told you I owe you NOTHING. Get your £11.10 from DHL, who should have never sent the account over to begin with. I have sent numerous messages through their online portal and they have only responded to ONE, a robotic 'you still owe us money'. I OWE YOU NOTHING!!!

Edit: So Control Account demanded my details and because I didn't say 'how high' when they said jump, they are reporting my experience as 'not a genuine experience'. Bullies and scammers! Who has time to lie about something like this? If this is not a genuine experience then the letter I received from you demanding payment is also not genuine, and I owe you nothing.

A heavy handed approach, constant emails all for owing £12!! A £35 charge - that is a tasty profit and the only reason why the company is in business.
Explained it was an oversight, I’ve had long covid lots of hospital trips and unable to work. Caller noted my details without seeking permission. Payment scheme offered for a total of £47.44!!! £35 admin charge it’s just extortion! All for £12.44 owing. Pure exploitation and greed.
*I have updated this review to say that I contacted the team about their excessive charges and lack of compliance. My charges have been refunded, and the situation was resolved effectively and in a reasonable time frame, which is positive, and appreciated (17/06/25)
I have had a very positive experience when speaking to Control Account, they were understanding, co operative and very helpful, fully explaining the problem and how it can best be resolved. Every customer service agent has been exceptional.
I allowed this company to recover debt for an unpaid invoice but did not have any success to recover the money I myself did what they did send out emails but had no reply instead had to pay these aswell for solicitor letter so if you are happy to pay these aswell as not get your payment from money owed to you then use them. Total waste and further charges to pay.

Out of the blue received two letters from controlaccount demanding I pay them within 7 days for an unpaid account with Medivet group, without attaching any proof. Letters were dated 28/3 and 31/3 but both only delivered by Royal Mail on 5/4/2025
I have never had any dealings with Medivet and have never had any connection with the address on the Medivet account. The name on the account was the same as mine and it seems that controlaccount considered that as I had lived in the area of the account address until 2018 that that was sufficient for them to start harassing me for the debt rather than contacting me to establish if they had the right person.

contact me with a SMS message saying working on behalf of UPS, after calling them to figure out what is going on, they show me an invoice from UPS that is not for me, not the same company name nor my name. they are not going to clarify my question on the invoice only ask me to pay. a so call debt collection company but mixed up who they are collecting debt from, what a joke.

Nothing more than scam artists acting on behalf of fedex express uk ltd, complicit in illegal acts of extortion, harassment and demanding money with menace on the sole say so of fedex express uk ltd with not a shread of evidence of any claimed debt existing at all. Typical of companies operating with zero ethics in todays culture of apply the bullying tactics with the attitude of ‘we are always right and so is our client, disregard any evidence of proof of payment of import charges the person we are harassing provides and let’s see how much money we can extort from the individual through threats, harassment, extortion, bullying and demanding money with menace’. It’s high time the regulator FOS pulled cowboys like this into line and removed their licence to trade. Makes me wonder how many vulnerable people are paying debts that don’t even exist.
This company also has a complete disregard for GDPR regulation too.
Will also add, just like the scumbags at fedex express uk ltd, they also predate letters they send to you. My letter was received 14/03/2025 but dates 05/03/2025. Another pathetic tactic to frighten people into paying debts that don’t exist with putting time scales on escalation that have already been exceeded by the time you receive their extortion letters.
