Horrible people
Horrible people. The way they deal with you makes you seriously think they are a scam (and maybe they are?)
Everyone should mark their emails as spam so the big players (Google and Microsoft) stop delivering their emails to inboxes. Imagine that.
Random email requesting you provide…
Random email requesting you provide proof you have a licence for using an image. Thankfully all images used on any business websites I own are licensed, however in my opinion, it's just a money making scheme. On the email they claimed to represent a customer called 'Panther Media Global' who owned the imaged. The image Author was indeed someone else. Just go back to them and ask for evidence of ownership of the image in question.
I guess out of 100 emails if one person doesn't have a licence they can make their money, but it comes across as a very shady business model contacting random people.
Scam
Scam. They are a company harassing people that own licensed photos.
Copytrack are a 100% SCAM..
Copytrack are a 100% scam..! Don't be fooled. They send emails to harass small businesses, usually unfounded claims based on copyright usage of images. It's basically a massive lie. They have zero legal power. If you get emailed by these jokers, ignore/block and don't respond at all. Instead write appropriate reviews online and send the pain back to them. They'll get shut down soon enough. Also their supposed ceo Marcus Schmitt is a nobody with no legal background. If you get any emails from these clowns(probably a 2 man band if that), don't sweat it, just ignore/block. Unless you want to waste their time of course..! In which case have fun, winding them up.
They're FRAUD and haven't exclusive right
They're asking for money for an image that's being used by 500+ other bloggers. They don't have any exclusive right for that image as many of News media and PR firms also using that image of a fish and green salad.. LOL....
Don't give in to these chancers!
Don't give in to these chancers!
They're been spamming emails for several months, claiming copyright infringement. The only minor snag to their case is- the images used were royalty free CC0 licenced at the time of publication! That they have since bought the rights does NOT give them the rights to your money. do not engage with them, they are just looking for an easy mark- they'd get laughed out of court if they actually tried to "recover" money from you
Scam Artists
I am a lawyer licensed to practice in several states of the United States. I even practice in the field of copyright litigation.
This fraudulent company had the audacity to ask *me* to prove ownership of my own images--which I own--that I used as advertising on my law firm's website.
They somewhat cleverly did not assert that *they owned the image* (because they didn't). Instead, they tried to shift the burden of proof on me at the outset. They also demanded I pay $1000 to get rid of their "claim" (which, again, had absolutely no merit).
If you get a "notice of claim" from these idiots, I recommend responding to them demanding to know (1) who their client is, and (2) for them to provide proof of copyright over their images to you.
This company relentlessly sends out…
This company relentlessly sends out invalid requests for payment for use of validly purchased stock photos. They also do not properly comply with the law by showing upfront that their clients even are the actual copyright holders.
Just received an email about an image…
Just received an email about an image on my blog from 15 years ago, demanding payment. I did a quick search to see if this company was legit and removed the posts from my website to be on the safe side. 15 years ago? I have better things to do with my time.
Copytrack is harassing me over a video thumbnail...
Copytrack is harassing me over a video thumbnail on my website that was automatically generated by YouTube.
Might as well laugh about it.
All looks legit when you get the first…
All looks legit when you get the first email, but the image they pinged me on was one I bought years ago and had no proof anymore (in Australia, taxation law requires general receipts/invoices to be kept for 5 years).
Followed the instructions in the email and smelt a rat when I spotted spelling mistakes on the website.
A quick Google search for "COPYTRACK reviews" told me what I needed to know.
Marked their email as spam and deleted it.
Another day, another harassment letter from Copytrack
Another day, another letter from Copytrack. We have informed Copytrack that as a firm we are no longer able to do their due diligence for them. Of course they don’t stop harassing us using baseless claims.
Be careful - potential scam
I received an email sent out from this company stating that my use of images on my website was apparently without licence from the owner of the image, and asking me to make contact with them to "clarify the next steps". It must be some type of fishing scam because the images were downloaded from Deposit Photos using a paid subscription, and I have paid for a perpetual licence, so there is no reason for any genuine complaint by the image owner.
Constant Bullying CopyTrack
Going on for a month now, Constant Bullying,
asked for Licence, but i know *Shutterstock* own it. They Say Copytrack, has a Client, I asked them to Name them, if so I would get in touch with them and ask if they are representing them!! please report them, even to there own country
I would rate with 0 if I could
I would rate with 0 if I could. This company is asking me to pay EUR 350 for a picture I used with a free license from Freepik. They provide no evidence for ownership and publication before the date I used the picture .
Concept-Production Earnest Dayang Scam
I received a copyright demand through RD Legal GmbH (formerly Copytrack) claiming unauthorized use of a stock image. The claim originated from a so-called rights holder “Concept-Production” (a group linked to Ernest Dayang).
Here’s what happened:
• The image was widely available through Fotolia/Adobe Stock and I legally licensed it directly from Adobe for less than $2.
• I was sent a €750 “compensation” fee plus an offer to license the image for €250/year, with no verified chain-of-title or legal proof of ownership from Concept-Production.
• When challenged to provide actual copyright documentation, no legal verification or Adobe licensing records were ever provided.
• Despite providing evidence of licensing, I received over a dozen pressure emails that looked more like debt collection than legitimate IP enforcement.
If you’re a small business owner and receive messages from this group, I strongly advise you:
• Do not pay without legal review.
• Demand legal documentation (not self-declared PDFs).
• Be aware of tactics that feel more like extortion than copyright protection.
This experience felt less like a rights protection agency and more like a high-pressure sales scheme backed by questionable legal footing.
I used some bad quality photo in 2012
I used some bad quality photo in 2012. It had no license, now they ask me to pay 1000 euro. I removed that photo immediately, website has just few views, I am from Ukraine, without electricity and they don't care, they want 1000 euro for nothing.
Total Scam - report & block their emails
Total scare tactic and scam. They are now known as RD Legal GmbH (RIGHTS-DEFEND). They seem legit, but even if you share evidence of legally using images via stock photo websites that you have subscriptions with, they ignore that and keep on with their demanding scare tactic emails, that are literally automated emails - they don't even read your email.
I also did my own research and the rights holder of the alleged image they claim I used illegally isn't even the original creator of the image. The image I used doesn't even have an original creator, it's an AI generated image widely available on many stock image sites.
So keep on reporting them on here and everywhere else, and keep note of the name change of the company from Copytrack to RD Legal GmbH (RIGHTS-DEFEND). And don't pay anything, that's what they're after - scaring you to pay.
“copytrack” Predatory Copyright Trolls…
“copytrack” Predatory Copyright Trolls & Harassment
I am writing this to warn others about the predatory and unethical business practices of “copytrack”.
This company contacted me alleging "copyright infringement" for an image used on my platform. I immediately responded with a valid license from the reputable stock agency where the image was legally purchased. Despite providing clear, documented proof of my right to use the work, “copytrack” has refused to acknowledge the license.
Furthermore, when I requested that they provide their own proof of ownership or legal standing to represent the copyright holder, they flatly refused. Instead of following standard legal procedures, they have resorted to:
• Continuous Harassment: Sending automated, threatening emails even after the matter was addressed.
• Lack of Transparency: Refusing to provide evidence of their claim while demanding payment.
• Bad Faith Tactics: Ignoring legal documentation to pursue a baseless "settlement."
It is clear that this company operates as a "copyright troll," targeting individuals and small businesses in hopes of intimidating them into paying for licenses they already own. If you receive an email from them, do not be intimidated. Document everything and demand proof of their ownership—which they seemingly cannot provide.
Avoid this company at all costs. They are not interested in protecting creators; they are interested in legal extortion.
“copytrack” , if you read this, i would love you to sue me and i am going to follow up with an email to you to read this review, but you know damn well you ain't going to do such a thing.
