While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Disconnect notice to paying customer

I got a disconnect notice in the mail despite paying my bill and despite being on AutoPay. I even checked online to make sure that my account was current and indeed it was. I checked my bank account to check whether payments were leaving my account to CoServ. They are.

They are threatening to disconnect my service in 3 days, despite my account being current and despite using AutoPay. I don't understand how their system can be this broken. This is something that people figured out sometime in the 1800s.

Seeing others' complaints on Yelp, I see that this is not an isolated issue but a symptom of a monopolistic and purely self-interested entity.

The following is critical. If you have a complaint about CoServ, contact your local city government and the Railroad Commission of Texas.

It is critical that the regulators remove this firm from existence as fast as humanly possible. The only way to do that is to reach critical mass. This firm is clearly predatory and exists only to take money from consumers while providing the lowest possible level of service that a monopoly can provide without regulators shutting them down.

Don't let them get away with that. The first thing you can do is to write a complaint letter to regulators. The second thing you can do--if you have the resources--is invest in solar. The return on investment is roughly 12.5% annually, which is attractive but only if you have the upfront capital.

A world without CoServ in existence is a better world. Try to bring that world about. It is up to you. Invest the time to do what's right. Write the Railroad Commission of Texas. Write your local city government. File a complaint on the Better Business Bureau. Write a review on Trustpilot. Fight back or they will just keep hurting us.

No other choice for electric or gas as…

No other choice for electric or gas as the company is a Co-op which was created when the areas served were small towns, which are now massive growth areas in North Texas.

Not sure what is with Coserv lately during Covid but the payment system is randomly declining payments set on automatic setup. Thankfully, Coserv is nice enough to send an email promptly so one can submit the payment manually with no issues.

Giving three stars as they sent an email promptly so I could make the payment with out issues.
