Barcelona to Rio de Janeiro cruise

We sailed on the Barcelona to Rio De Janeiro repositioning cruise onboard Costa Pacifica, the cruise was by far the best cruise we have done. The entertainment on the ship was incredible, it was very high energy, the music was up to date and the deck parties in particular were fantastic. Cruise excursions were affordable and enjoyable, cabins were comfortable, food was enjoyable and the cruise chat function was a great addition allowing us to meet new friends on the ship and organise meet ups. We will definitely sail on Costa Cruises again in the future.

Never Again

Not safe life jacket procedures. Even with drinks package, water is restricted to 1 small bottle per day. Food is limited, small amounts, and lukewarm even when put out fresh. Did not take nut allergy serious, said they would check for the next evenings food!
The 1 star is due to the cabin being clean, and comfortable.

Covid taste!!

Bought a mini cruise from Barcelona for a 3 nights to sample the life on the waves to son, his wife and 2 grandchildren and it wasnt the best to be proud of. Checking in was good, buffet food lukewarm, restaurant mediocre and worst of all been refused tap water on board saying only bottled water is available. Staff not helpful and some didn’t even look at you to acknowledge or to welcome. Yet forced to pay service charges quite steep €11pppd. Outrageous. Coffee and tea not available during day times and all staff extremely punctual and eager to switch off machines at allotted times, what an awful experience since Covid. From bad to really worst

This company failed spectacularly

This company failed to provide wheelchair assistance for the safety drill. They failed to provide wheelchair assistance to the dockside for an excursion causing us to be late as my sick wife had to push me. They cancelled 2 of the 4 excursions we booked. We had to fight for a refund for a cancelled excursion right up to disembarkation. The tour desk refused to help us get a taxi for the cancelled excursions forcing us to remain on board. We reported the air-conditioner broken at 2pm, it was fixed at 11:30pm with the room cooling down by 1am. We overslept and missed breakfast and all the restaurants were closed so we only ate at 1pm. We were told we had to deposit cash into our onboard account within the first two days and then they refused to let us deposit cash on the first day. On the second day we were informed there is a limit of $2,000 per day deposit which limited us to 50% of our total deposit.

Costa Smeralda - a huge disappointment

I am reluctant to write such a negative review, but I feel other potential customers need to be aware of this company. We had a holiday on Costa Smeralda in March 2022.. As suggested on their pre-departure website, we pre-booked 3 shore excursions. We took two half days walking tours and were eagerly awaiting our full day tour when it was cancelled by the cruise company 36 hours before the planned date, as there were not enough English speaking customers booked to make the tour viable. We understood this and as there was not another full day tour available on that day, we asked for a refund. This was refused. We were told that we could take a walking tour or have a full day tour in Barcelona instead. I explained that we were very familiar with Barcelona and also as it was our last day on the ship we did not want to spend it ashore. The walking tours were less than half the price of the full day tour we had already paid for but which they refused to refund.
We lost almost 200 Euros over this and the attitude of the staff was that of indifference and rudeness.
We would never travel with this company again and would urge other customers to take our experience into consideration when booking their cruise.
I would like to say that the cleaning staff and waiting staff were excellent and well mannered at all times.
