I have been shopping with Costco for…

I have been shopping with Costco for years now and always happy when shopping in-store for pricing. My experience with online is good regarding the delivery service, but the cost of delivery using Instacart is not worth it. I find it's very complicated to get an actual cost of the increased amount they charge you. All I know is it's not cheap!! The best explanation I could find for an exact amount was them saying it can be anywhere from 15 to 50% more depending!!! Not good. Do yourself a favour and spend the extra hour and $3.00 in gas going to shop in-store.

Went to Surrey Costco today with my son. We got a bag of oranges that one of them was bad so we told the cashier’s runner about it. She asked if my son or I was paying and my son said he was and the runner had me go get a new bag of oranges instead. Talk about being LAZY or what! I had never experienced anything like this before and will probably not be the last time.

This is a warning to anyone thinking…

This is a warning to anyone thinking about using Inova insurance, especially if you're going through Costco. My brother-in-law just got hit with a gut-wrenching $60 a month premium increase.

That's a staggering $720 a year for absolutely no reason! It's an absolute slap in the face. The whole point of a Costco-affiliated service is the expectation of fair pricing, and Inova has completely failed. We have escalated this matter to the management as well but no body is taking responsibility for this.

This isn't a minor adjustment; it's an outrageous move that feels like a total bait-and-switch. We trusted the Costco name, and Inova has proven that trust was misplaced.

Save your time and money. Do not get conned by this company. Their sudden, unjustified price hikes make them completely unreliable, and the so-called "savings" are a myth.

We are going to consumers court to get the protection against this devastating action.

Always reliable

Costco has amazing customer service and an incredible (too lenient and too nice) return policy that many people take advantage of. I am reading these negative reviews and they are absolutely insane. Costco's prices are better than most places, so to complain of global price increasing and inflation is not Costco's fault. The reviews for Costco on this site are a joke because most of the complaints are not complaint-worthy. I've been shopping here practically my entire life and have always had an exceptional experience. Great prices, great products, great inventory, great policies, great food and ice cream. Have ordered online and most shopping is done in store. No company is perfect, but Costco is one of the best companies out there, so for it to have such a negative rating is uncalled for.

Playing with religious sentiments

I am quite shocked to see Costco forcing halal chicken on everyone. I bought chicken few weeks ago and realized that there was a sign of halal in black that used to be in green before and separated from non-halal chicken. Lots of people do not eat halal foods, and it is not appropriate of them to force it on all their members.

Today I was at wonderland Costco

Today I was at wonderland Costco. I wished to make a payment but it showed my membership expired. The primary is my husband I wanted to cancel the executive to golden card and my husband was on and was ready to provide all the documents. But the manager Stephan even didn’t wish to talk with him. Even notary uses this form of communication and banks do to, but your incompetent workers denied me me in that l. I want my money back from not expired CIBC Mastercard. You have incompetent workers who instead of putting the refund on debit card put it on CIBC Mastercard that is voiding making payments with it. But the money instead of to go on my debit account stay in CIBC card. I don’t understand are my money the ownwership of CIBC or me???!!! Why they didn’t go directly to my debit card if my debit card is attached electronically by computer to CIBC card? I give you 2 business days to put all my money from refund from CIBC card to my debit card, because I make all the payments all the time with my debit card that was already from the beginning attached from the CIBC card to my debit card! But if it was attached like that why the money don’t go directly from CIBC card to my debit card ? I can’t make any purchases with the CIBC card it is blocking payments on its account which is very inflexible. Because the money now are in the possession of CIBC and I cannot touch them. This is illegal. If I make a new membership on my name and not my husband primary I will lose the money and the CIBc card will be canceled. This is also illlegal! I have such an impression that your workers are not amicable and don’t wish to do anything for my comfort of purchase. Like Julia incompetent and inflexible and told that the manager won’t help me but he gave another option which she didn’t. And her colleague and her told me that I cannot change the primary holder of membership without my husband s presence which is not true. Why they put obstacle sticks in my privileges and options without letting me know about my rights. These days I will come to Costco with my husband and I don’t have any desire to see those incompetents at customer service. My bulgiest desire is you to dismiss them from work because they really bother clients to make memberships and purchases. They don’t work for the comfort of your clients being very restrictive but they let me the option to buy executive card without my husbands presence but. Golden card didn’t allow saying that they cannot make changes without primary holder while the manager allowed it.

Orders Cancelled Repeatedly – Even After Following All Instructions

I’ve faced repeated order issues on Costco.ca despite doing everything right. The first time, I was told there was a billing address mismatch - which was false. Then they blamed my email. After that, they said I didn’t use my full legal name in billing. Each time, I followed their instructions to the letter.

I even changed my email address, as suggested, and used my full legal billing name. I spoke with multiple representatives, including Mike and Alex, who walked me through the process. Still, my latest order was placed on hold. And when I tried to cancel it, I was told it had already shipped - adding more confusion.

I was given a $50 voucher as compensation, but I’ve now had to request that be turned into a shop card since I can’t place online orders reliably.

I work in secure systems and understand backend environments - the problem is clearly with Costco.ca’s platform and how customer data is being handled internally. It’s not the customer’s fault when support gives inconsistent information and the system rejects valid orders.

Costco needs to take ownership of these issues and fix them at the root instead of expecting customers to bend around temporary workarounds.

Urgent Complaint Regarding Incorrect

I am writing to express my frustration regarding an ongoing issue with my washer and dryer order. I ordered both a washer and a dryer, but when the washer was delivered, it arrived damaged — it was visibly bent at the top.I contacted your customer service immediately to request a replacement. However, instead of sending a new washer, I received another dryer by mistake. I returned the incorrect item right away and called again to resolve the issue.
Unfortunately, it has now been over a month, and I still have not received the correct washer. I have called multiple times, but no one is taking responsibility or providing a clear solution.I am very disappointed with the lack of accountability and service. I kindly request that you either send the correct washer immediately or process a full refund without any further delay.

We wasted multiple hours of our work- day, and achieved no tangible problem- resolution, except unwarranted harassment from these Costco employees.

Recently, we called Costco at (888) 426 - 7826, after we emailed Costco.ca ( via their "email us" website option).

Even after multiple days, we did not receive any reply.

Thereafter, We spoke to a Ms. Lily, customer service representative, in the Ecommerce department of Costco.ca.

Lily was verbally abusive, technically incompetent, repeatedly interrupting, gave us conflicting versions of solutions , which was tantamount to bureaucratic Stonewalling. She began yelling at us, when we called her out for her errors.

We were placed on- hold for over 35 minutes.

Lily refused to connect us to a supervisor, and abruptly disconnected our phone- call, I.E. hung- up.

Thereafter, we spoke to a supervisor Mr. Olin. Colin had not even reviewed the prior relevant record (which he claimed to have done). When we pointed out his errors, he executed a Bureaucratic "cover up", acted as a defense attorney for his employee, refused to acknowledge his lapses, and abruptly disconnected our call.

We wasted multiple hours of our work- day, and achieved no tangible problem- resolution, except unwarranted harassment from these Costco employees.

On a Balance of Probability, it is very likely that there may be other Vulnerable Victims of such Systemic bully tactics, Misuse of vested authority, abuse of power, in dealing with ordinary taxpayers and paying customers.

Horrible service at self checkout

I went to Costco at highway 410 and Steels, the two older ladies at the self check out has the most horrible attitude, my wife and I had two full carts and decided to use the self check out as the lines were shorter, my wife and I both have costco cards as costco has sent us two cards when we joined the membership, we went to two check out machine and swiped individual cards and scan our items then I paid for both bills , now my total spend was over a thousand dollars and these two older ladies came screaming, you two together you have to get two separate membership, you can't do this , we don't care if your are executive members.
Now personally I felt embarrassed and don't think I want to go back to costco.

Omega 3 eggs look Anemic

Im a carnivore. I buy Costco's Omega 3 eggs but lately the yolks are an anemic light yellow instead of healthy yellowy orange. Are they even Omega 3 anymore? Very disappointed.

Misogyny and retribution from the highest levels

In late 2023, I had a male Costco staff demand my membership at counter, then write down my personal details (name, phone, address) on a sticky note, when I was not updating or modifying my membership. He refused to stop taking down personal info when I asked - claiming he was helping me - then put the sticky in his pocket, even though he did nothing other then retain my membership card and waste my time. Same agent was later seen sexually harassing women in store (2024 and 2025). When I complained (2025) he made threats towards me. I complained to head office about this and other incidents including other male staff pretending they could not hear women speaking to them (turning away and sniggering and playing bro code games when called out) when approached by women asking for assistance, and a male supervisor belittling a female staff claiming she couldn’t be trusted because she was female when it is policy that managers/supervisors are required for returns over a certain amount. Head office claimed they took incidents of sexism very seriously and would put a stop to it, but never followed up with me as they said they would. After giving Costco a pause from my pocketbook (I don’t like paying salaries for misogynists), and moving to a new town, I decided to start a new Costco membership. Now, Costco has refused to allow me membership (July 2 2025; July 7 2025), and told me repeatedly to purchase the membership online then cancelled my membership after accepting my purchase, then refused to reimburse my money. Just a tad petty. I suggest Costco deal with the misogyny of their male staff, and enabling of head office, and worry less about retribution against customers who complain about in-store misogyny.

They keep moving stuff around

They keep moving stuff around. I get it so people would look around and try to get them to buy other stuff.

But it creates traffic, long line ups. Usually people have a shopping list and just want to go in and out asap.
