Do not shop online at Costco

Since shopping at Costco in California it was sooo exciting to see a Costco in Birmingham Uk. We have done instore shopping there And also Coventry and we always look forward to the experience . The products are superb.
Then I attempted to shop online. Wow what a disaster. Then I attempted to to phone and was put on hold for 30 minutes with no notification as to where I was in the queue THEN I WAS CUTOFF

Do not buy groceries online as they…

Do not buy groceries online as they will come damaged and even when you send photos etc Costco won’t refund you .
This is the second time my orders have come damaged the 1st time Brocken Jam so test of stuff covered in Jam and glass .
3 weeks ago I placed order some has arrived but whole case Beans damaged I was offered a part refund , I told them if they need my money that much they can keep it .
I am also still waiting on 3/4 of my order which I told them on Wednesday just to cancel so still waiting on my refund … but please stay away from buying on line groceries.

Disappointing Delivery Delays and Poor Support

I ordered cameras from Costco on 23/11/2025 as a gift, and the experience was extremely frustrating. DHL showed the same “delivery delayed, driver coming today” message for over a week with no progress. I contacted Costco three times and was only offered a refund today, which was useless as the cameras were needed before the recipient travelled. Poor communication, wasted time, and a very disappointing experience. The cameras are still lost till the moment of writing this review. I won’t be ordering again.

I have had zero help and the customer…

I have had zero help and the customer services are the absolute worst I’ve ever come across! They DO NOT HELP! At all and lie to get you off the phone! I placed an order weeks ago, it was out for delivery and the delivery company didn’t even attempt delivery but said we weren’t in and I no longer live there! I ring customer services who apologies and say parcel force are awful but don’t worry I’ll help! I’ll get it sent to a local post office and let you know when it’s there! 3 days later, no call, no email so I ring and after an hr I get through to someone who says it was never sent to the post office so I’ll send a new one and get a manager to call you within 48hrs, 4 days pass, no manager call and no item! I call back again and another hour wait I get though to someone who says they will get the manager to call, send them out again!!!! And send tracking! After 2 more days the tracking says delivered but then says invalid and the item hasn’t been delivered! I call again, a 2 hr wait … I speak to someone else who says they will
Look into it and call me back! No call!! I call again 1.5 hr wait and get through to someone who says the order was never replaced and the item was returned to the warehouse! So I was lied to by all the other member of staff (so called customer services assistance!) I am 2 weeks late with a birthday present and still haven’t received my item, a call from the mysterious manager!!! And been lied to countless times! Oh and spent around 11 hrs trying to resolve the issue !! I am at a loss and starting to think Costco are actually a scam company who take your money and lie!!!! I’d avoid at all
Costs! And if I can save someone else from being lied to, have your money taken, your child’s birthday ruined and hours of your life wasted this review won’t be wasted!!
So just to summarise, avoid! They lie and take your money!

Bought a tv unpacked it and it was damaged rang Costco they said no problem they will exchange it so took it back they refunded me after virtually saying I damaged it went to get a new tv to find the price had gone up and wouldn’t honour the price on the exchange I find this disgusting as it was there fault selling me a damaged item and not replying to my emails will never use COSTCO RIP OFF again

costco tyres haydock not surprised with these reviews when a recent visit to costco tyres in haydock, it was so bad the guy in the tyre shop was so arrogant and had no reason to speak to a customer i dont need to know anything about tyres thats why i brought my car to costco for a new set of tyres and because i didnt know what tyre size i have i was spoken too like an idiot im not a tyre expert thats why i brought my car to you, i was amazed at how someone could be so obnoxious, that was the older guy who was in charge the other two staff were great and tried to calm him he shouldnt be in a customer service role if he cant speak with customers properly i wont be going back again even though i really wanted to use the tyre shop. left and used a different place with helpfull staff

Purchased items that were not delivered and lost by Evri. Tried on several times to contact Costco to rectify, But they are just as bad, nobody answers the phone, which is how you are told to contact Costco.
Don't order online with Costco even if it seems a bargain,you may regret it just like me.

COSTCO ARE CRAP

This company is the absolute pits and would suggest if you intend to buy anything from them use the store only as the online service is crap. Well it is when the product you have purchased doesn’t arrive or is delivered somewhere else and thats when you’re totally screwed. This is because the Customer Service at Costco is non existent and when you do eventually get to speak with a human they don’t give a toss.

They have a phone number that nobody answers or you’re on hold for at least 2/3 hours before some snotty individual takes the call and offers you absolutely nothing. Why advertise a number for every enquiry, that they have no intentions of answering ? An online chat service that gets jammed full and I have tried 5 times, 80 to 100 people supposedly ahead of me and EVERY bloody time got cut off when I get near the top. Products I ordered were delivered to the wrong address and Costco refuse to send me the photograph of the so called door the package was dumped at but when they described the door, it WASN’T MINE. It was even signed for apparently but they claim it was left on a door step ! So something is dodgy here and the woman I encountered at Costco more or less insisted that it was my house it was delivered too. But the promises made by Costco that they will investigate and respond are not happening. So here we are nearly 3 weeks later no products NO MONEY refunded. Time for bank contact for charge back and trading standards as this company need a bloody good reality check on how to deal with people.

Buy at your peril and wished I had read the reviews on here but more so wished had purchased from Amazon as they know where I live but they also know what a customer is.

**** What a pathetic response Costco I have my refund and that took 4 weeks to get snd it should NOT BE LIKE THIS and even the guy that eventually stepped up at Costco agreed your service is shite.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

I had a item which required a signature left outside on my doorstep amd it went missing. I have since contacted costco twice, waiting over 40 minutes each time. To be told it will be resolved in 48 hours and still it's not resolved. This is not following UK law, a item must be replaced or refunded if not delivered and the customer must not be left waiting for " investigations " to take place. AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COSTS

I had the worse experience with Costco…

I had the worse experience with Costco optical shop.

I paid more than 7 hundred pounds for two pairs of glasses at Costco optical shop in Reading a few weeks ago. At collection of glasses, one pair wasn’t right and hence I was told that the lenses will be fitted again. New measurements were taken by a couple of people. It seemed that they were not very confident of the accuracy of the measurements. I was then called a few days later by the store manager who asked for the measurements to be retaken in person.

It took me another week to be able to access the store on a Friday as weekend prior to that was virtually impossible to access the store due to long queues.

I was told that the person who was to take the measurements was not working hence I have to go come back again. I asked for refund of my glasses, however this was refused.

I called again on two more occasions to speak to the person concerned without a response. I continued to try my luck to speak to the manager and took a whole afternoon to finally speak to the person concerned . To my surprise even this person said that I have to come to the store physically for a refund.

I am so disappointed with the service from Optical shop at Costco. It is the worst experience I have had from Costco whom I have been shopping from years.

This is a shockingly poor service to customers at Optical shop Costco Reading.

As other people have said, the customer service line and chat is horrendous. Took me all day to get through to someone to chase a refund that was 2 weeks late on a collection for some furniture purchased online. Then today get a text saying Refund amount £0!!! Back to waiting on the phone and chat all day long to even speak to someone.

utterly useless

placed an online order with Costco 1 item was never delivered and 1 item delivered incorrectly (wrong size)
the item that wasn't delivered I had to wait for an internal investigation and them to contact the delivery company and find out what went on before I received my items this took over 3 weeks to arrive.
The 2nd item delivered incorrectly was such a hassle to return, even though it was Costco's mistake. eventually the item was sent out again once they receive the wrong item back but this once again was the the wrong size. I don't know what's going on there but they seem very unorganised. Again I had to call customer services and was waiting for a call back over 3 hours and again such a hassle. I was told item would be collected and it wasn't so now I have to go to the post office to return the item. Utterly useless!

Absolutely terrible experience

Absolutely terrible experience trying to receive just one item. Costco’s customer service has been just as disappointing as the courier they chose.

No one seems to read complaints properly, and it’s almost impossible to get hold of anyone. I spent over an hour on hold twice before giving up, and the callback function rarely results in anyone actually calling back.

The courier experience was shocking. On 3rd December, the driver called me at 11pm to say the delivery would take another 1.5 hours, meaning past midnight, which is completely unreasonable for a bulky item. When I rescheduled, the next delivery failed due to a loading error, then a scanning error, so nothing arrived. I was then told I’d need to wait another 48 hours before a new delivery could even be booked.

I’ve wasted so much time waiting in, rearranging plans, and chasing updates from both Costco and the courier. There were even more issues, but I’ve already spent far too much time on all of this, I just wanted to share my experience.

The whole process has been incredibly frustrating, and the item still hasn’t been delivered.

Costco, Costco, Costco, please

Costco please, we all know you are a big company, invest in better customer service and online chat system and returns process. We can't constantly be waiting in very long chat queues, have our chats dropped when its our turn, call on the phone and wait over an hour to not get to speak to anyone. Your email customer service seems more interested in false promise replies with little guarantee on actually having issues resolved. Please consult a company to take you through a change implementation for your customer service system so it is a little more up to date. There are management consultants and project teams out there that can help you make your customer service reflective of your reputation as a wholesaler and membership store delivering value. Don't fob your customers off, they spend lots and contribute to your revenue. thank you.

1* is too high - Avoid

1* is too high, I wish I could give 0.
Ordered a £1500 laptop from Costco, Parcelforce marked it as delivered and said I signed for it, but I was not home and it’s nowhere to be seen. I suspect the driver stole it.
Raised this 5 times with Costco support, still no response and no suggestion of a solution. Wasted hours on the phone each day just to be told they will raise it with the logistics company and that I need to wait 48 hours.

Shockingly bad support from a company that charges a membership fee just to shop with them.

Edited to respond to Catherine’s rubbish - ‘a stream of delivery notifications’ is a complete lie. I received 1 email notifying me of delivery, 2 hours and 20 minutes before it was marked as delivered. That email also said a signature would not be required. Why was such a high value item sent with no requirement for signature?

The fact that blame is now trying to be passed to me tells you all you need to know about this company.
How can I make arrangements to suddenly be at home, when I am only notified of a delivery 2 hours before? In fact, the window I was given for delivery was 07:35am - 1:35pm, so I was notified of delivery almost 1 hour into the delivery window, and they are trying to blame me for not being available.
