I honestly love Costco!

I honestly love Costco. I am there at least every two weeks, if not every week. We buy at least half of our groceries there. There are some incredible deals, some not-so-incredible, but overall the membership is worth it. The employees are kind and hard-working, and everyone goes above and beyond.

MY EXPECTATIONS BLOWN COMPLETELY OUT OF THE WATER

I ordered a couch from Costco online after seeing it in the store (because I could get delivery and installation). We are still working on our new home and have painters who still have tasks to do in the room where our furniture was being placed. When the delivery drivers arrived (on-time by the way) .. I asked the drivers to stack the furniture in the center of the room, and we would take care of it from there. They did just that, and I was very pleased. I was amazed and floored when someone from Costco Logistics called me 30 minutes later to check and make sure everything met my expectations. The caller acknowledged that I had asked them not put the furniture together - and then offered to have them come back at any time within the next 30 days to put it together for me and haul the rest of the packing materials away. That is a service I never expected and was absolutely amazed by. Costco absolutely floored me that they offered this. I have never had a delivery so smoothly that exceeded my expectations to this degree!

Costco vs. Sam’s Club: Is a Costco Membership Still Worth It?

For years, Costco has enjoyed a reputation as the gold standard of warehouse shopping. But for shoppers who belong to both Costco and Sam’s Club, the comparison isn’t as one sided as it once seemed. Looking closely at membership costs, perks, pricing, and overall convenience, Sam’s Club increasingly makes a compelling case—especially for value focused shoppers.
________________________________________
Membership Pricing & Discounts
Costco
• Standard: $65
• Executive: $130
• Limited promotional discounts
• Cashback only for Executive members
Sam’s Club
• Standard: $50
• Plus: $128
• Frequent $10 first time memberships
• Half price deals for teachers and first responders
• 2% cashback for all members
Sam’s Club simply offers more flexible and generous entry points, making it easier to justify the cost—especially for new members or those eligible for special discounts.
________________________________________
Return Policies
Costco is known for its “generous” return policy, but in practice, returns can be scrutinized, and customers who return too frequently may face pushback.
Sam’s Club, on the other hand, tends to honor its refund policy with fewer hurdles. The terms are clear, and there’s less ambiguity about what will or won’t be accepted.
________________________________________
Pricing & Product Comparisons
Both stores often carry products from the same manufacturers, but Sam’s Club frequently edges out Costco on price. A simple example:
• Sam’s Club: 30 cupcakes for $15.99
• Costco: 12 cupcakes for $8.99
Costco does occasionally win on certain items, but Sam’s Club tends to offer more consistent savings across categories.
________________________________________
Payment Options & Business Purchases
Costco
• Accepts only Visa in-store
• Charges sales tax upfront for online business purchases, requiring a refund request with documentation that takes up to 90 days to receive.
Sam’s Club
• Accepts a wide range of credit cards
• Automatically deducts sales tax for qualifying business purchases (very convenient)
For business owners, Sam’s Club is simply easier to work with.
________________________________________
Shopping Experience & Convenience
Sam’s Club Advantages
• Scan-and-Go app
• Curbside pickup
• Wider selection of name-brand products
• More polished store ambiance
Costco Advantages
• Stronger meat and seafood departments
• High-quality Kirkland Signature products
Sam’s Club leans into convenience and technology, while Costco sticks to a more traditional warehouse feel.
________________________________________
Gas Rewards
• Sam’s Club: Up to 5%
• Costco: Up to 4%
Another small but meaningful edge for Sam’s Club.
________________________________________
Final Verdict
Costco still shines in certain areas—particularly meat, seafood, and the reliability of Kirkland Signature products. But when you weigh membership cost, promotional offers, payment flexibility, convenience features, and overall pricing, Sam’s Club increasingly delivers greater value for many shoppers.
For teachers, first responders, new members, or anyone who prioritizes convenience and lower prices, Sam’s Club may be the smarter choice. Costco remains a strong competitor, but the gap between the two has narrowed—and in many categories, Sam’s Club pulls ahead.

Didnt like the calzone!

Today i tried the deli calzone. I Did not like it. I would not buy it again. It doesnt even taste like a real calzone. I would recommend Costco to bring back the burger and fries combo because it had good price and taste. Also bring back the meat lover pizza.
I forgot to mention: For the record, my experience was at the Costco (Bayamon, PR) Food Court.

Worst Costco location

I’ve always heard Costco prides itself on customer service, but today was extremely disappointing.

I came in today at the Southlake location and spent $909, including several items and a PS5 Pro console. As required, I went to customer service with my receipt to pick up the console. Unfortunately, the associate helping customers was tied up with another issue regarding a discount that lasted about 10 minutes. I was already on a tight schedule because I had to pick up my kids.

I politely asked another employee standing at the counter if he could assist me, and I was told I had to wait for the same associate. A few minutes later, that employee asked someone else to help me. That person walked past me, went behind the counter, and started chatting with another employee instead of helping me. I waited another couple of minutes and realized no one was taking my situation seriously.

At that point, I had no choice but to leave. I asked where returns were and ended up returning my entire cart, not just the PS5, because I was so upset with how the situation was handled.

While returning the items, the employee who walked past me asked if he had passed me at the counter. I confirmed that he did and explained that this was the reason I was returning everything. There was no attempt to fix the situation, no effort to make things right, just a quick “sorry” and he walked away.

I’m sure Costco won’t miss a $909 purchase, but I will gladly take my business elsewhere. The entire experience made me feel ignored and disrespected, and honestly, it left me feeling discriminated against. Whether intentional or not, that’s how it came across.

Very disappointing experience, especially for a store known for valuing its members. Hopefully this doesn’t happen to someone else.

Costco alienated thousands of loyal members

I have to get this off my mind. As an avid sneaker collector, I was genuinely excited for the opportunity to purchase the Nike SB Costco Dunks. I understand and can accept a release that is not heavily advertised or announced in advance, but what really bothers me is the way Costco management and logistics chose to handle it. By limiting the release to only a handful of locations, they effectively alienated thousands of loyal members who never had a real chance to participate. That decision just does not sit right with me, and it honestly pushed me to the point of seriously considering canceling my Costco membership altogether.

To make matters worse, I spoke with a manager at the Costco I usually shop at today and mentioned that I was thinking about canceling both my membership and my Costco credit card. His response was flippant and dismissive. He told me to go ahead and said my credit would take a hit. That kind of attitude was disappointing and unnecessary, especially coming from someone who represents a company that prides itself on customer service and member satisfaction.

Costco could have easily handled this in a much more fair and inclusive way. A simple online raffle or a first come first served release through their website would have given all members, regardless of location, an equal opportunity. Instead, it felt like the majority of members were left out of the process entirely, which undermines the idea of being part of a membership based warehouse club in the first place.

I know I am only one customer and probably just a drop in the bucket, but I also carry memberships with Costco, Sam’s Club, and BJ’s. At some point, you start to evaluate where your loyalty and your money are best appreciated. Maybe it really is time to shed one of those memberships and focus on the companies that make their customers feel valued rather than brushed aside.

Horrible experience with Costco.com…

Horrible experience with Costco.com order. Ordered washer and dryer 30 days ago. Order #1253060393. Their scheduling service is terrible and does not allow you to pick a delivery window. When I finally could talk to someone it was too late to change the time slot and had to reschedule. When it finally arrived the driver did not want to delver because of a little snow in the driveway. They never called my cell and just ended up taking off with my son standing in the driveway. We would have accepted delivery in the road and carried it in ourselves. I tried to call during the delivery but got many prompts and put on hold waiting for someone to talk to. Ended up canceling the order a month after ordering it. Now we have to pick up from somewhere else. Never using Costco.com again after this experience.

Costco at Northridge

Costco at Northridge, California. Worst customer service that I have ever seen whoever reads this review I suggest to go to Sam’s Club. They really know how to treat a customer. The Costco at Northridge supervisors need to get retrain on customer service. They never help and they’re very rude with disabled people.

I love Costco!

I love Costco! There's food samples so you're free food. The pizza tastes DELICOUIS along with the Stawberry Banna Smoothie. The Chicken Bakes are also really good and the coats you can buy are really warm and good (depending on the brand!).

Muffins-- Those big fluffy muffins are, NOW 1/2 the size and dense as hell.......
Evidently it's profits before quality....

Order #1257919104

Order #1257919104 – Missed Delivery
The dishwasher delivery was scheduled for yesterday.
The driver called and said he was 10 minutes away but never arrived and never called back.
The order still shows “Out for delivery.”
I tried calling Costco Logistics multiple times, but it is very difficult to reach anyone.
This was a missed delivery after driver confirmation, causing serious inconvenience.
Costco needs to improve their logistics and ensure accountability.

Creo como Miembros activos de Costco merecemos Respeto

My name is Roberto Rodriguez and my wife's name is Delia Rodriguez. We have been active Costco members for 20 years. Today, January 21, 2026, we went shopping at the Costco in Durham; we spent $547.00, as we had two shopping carts full of products. But upon reaching the exit, someone from the back shouted, "Check those people carefully!" Only my wife and I were subjected to a thorough inspection; they checked every single item meticulously, and we wasted a lot of time. There was a long line behind us, and everyone was staring at us as they read the receipt item by item. They made us feel incredibly embarrassed and humiliated. We were singled out and searched so thoroughly, simply because we are Hispanic, as if we were thieves. We have strong spiritual and moral values and are incapable of stealing what doesn't belong to us. This is called racism. We have been loyal customers of your store for many years, but we are deeply disappointed with the treatment we received today. We want you to know that there are honest and decent people in all races, and we deserve to be treated with respect.

False Advertising and Deceptive Practices

This company is deceiving people to join their membership. I was promised a $40 shop card if I joined in December using a promo code at the checkout and I wad told the $40 gift card would come in 2 weeks. Now they are fasley stating I am not eligible for the $40 gift card because they falsely claim there was small print that was NOT visible on their website that stated I needed to select auto renew in order to get the $40 gift card. They are falsely advertising on their website to get people to join. Then a supervisor refused to override it when I was told by the shop card dept that supervisors can override it and give me the $40 I was promised. Costco is lying in their advertising.

Most of the floor staff look allergic to actual work. Endless wandering, fake “busy” movements, and long coworker conversations about absolutely nothing. When real work is unavoidable, productivity drops to a crawl. Hard to believe this is the same company that markets efficiency and value. Managers are clearly the source of the problem.

There is no better way to get high quality meat and fish shipped directly to your door. I have also purchased cold weather gear and luggage through the website. It is in many ways better than standing in line at the store.
