Cowboys
Appalling company. Having been a landlord for 16 years, and a tenant for 15, these are by far the biggest bunch of cowboys i've ever encountered.
Urgent repairs take excessive amounts of time to resolve (6 weeks for a storm damaged window that meant the window couldn't be closed properly in mid Winter, 3 weeks to repair an oven that, currently over 2 weeks to correct damp and mould issues).
Whether you're a tenant or an landlord, avoid this lot at all costs
Worst mortgage brokers I have ever…
Worst mortgage brokers I have ever dealt with .
Appalling. Liars, incompetent, and a complete waste of my time.
Promised the earth, delivered ****- all.
Avoid.
Landlords and Tenants AVOID Countrywide & Taylors lettings
My experience with Taylors Aylesbury (Countrywide) has been the worst I’ve ever had with any estate agent. I faced constant errors, incorrect charges, poor communication, and a complete lack of professionalism. Despite paying full fees, I received wrong statements, unexplained charges, and contradictory information. Even basic tasks like issuing a correct invoice or calculating fees accurately turned into a long, exhausting chase.
What made this even worse was the culture of deflection. No one took ownership of anything. I was passed endlessly between the branch and different agents, area managers, each blaming the other while nothing was resolved. Emails were ignored, calls weren’t returned, and the service standards were consistently poor. Even the services I paid for, such as professional cleaning and inventory, were carried out to an unacceptable standard, forcing me to step in personally to maintain the property for my tenants.
Taylors added no value to the management of my property; in fact, they created more work, more stress, and unnecessary financial loss. I have now escalated the matter to the Ombudsman, who is still investigating — a process that takes several months due to the volume of issues involved. If you are a landlord considering Taylors Aylesbury, I strongly recommend avoiding them. They are unprofessional, unreliable, and simply not fit for purpose.
SHOCKING TRUTH!
I am an elderly person and I am currently dealing with Countrywide Lettings, and I find their behaviour extremely distressing. I feel I am being misled and spoken to in a way that makes me doubt my own understanding, even though I know I have clear rights under my agreement. They are not explaining matters honestly, and issues I raise are being delayed rather than resolved. As an elderly person with health issues, this is very upsetting and exhausting, and I feel taken advantage of rather than supported. I strongly urge anyone, especially older or vulnerable people, to educate themselves, keep records of everything, and seek independent advice if they are dealing with this company. Based on what I am experiencing right now, I would not recommend using Countrywide Lettings.
Would be 0 star if I could
Would be 0 star if I could. Their conveyancing service is beyond incompetent. Even my countrywide estate agent manager has told me he is inundated with issues with customers using their ‘in house conveyancing’. My solicitor has lied on email and phone regarding enquires and am currently 6 months in the selling process and had to raise a formal complaint due to sheer incompetence and have no idea how much longer they will manage to drag out the process
I have been owed deposit for years
I have been owed deposit for years, someone called Debra was dealing with it, but because Debra left, by the way no one seems to stay for more than a week…no one bothered to contact me and told me and update me, so I’m still waiting for my deposit!
Do not ever use this company
Do not ever use this company. I moved out of my rented property over 4 months ago and they haven't returned even one penny of my deposit despite the property being spotless when I left.
They have no problem putting a disabled young woman out of pocket over £1600. Anyone in their lettings department should be ashamed to work there.
Extremely Unprofessional
I had an extremely poor experience with Countrywide Surveying Services.
The surveyor, Uvejs Cerimi, attended the property on behalf of Barclays for a change of deed mortgage. I received an SMS from Countrywide confirming the appointment time as 8:30am–10am.
As I do not live at the property, I travelled extremely early to ensure I was there by 8:30am. After waiting with no communication, I had to call Countrywide at around 10am to find out where the surveyor was. Only then was I told that he would arrive at 11am!
The surveyor eventually arrived after 11am, meaning I waited for over two and a half hours! No explanation or apology was provided for the delay. The fact that I had to chase Countrywide myself just to get an update was extremely unprofessional.
In addition, it took over 3 weeks for Barclays to receive the valuation report because the incorrect work was initially carried out. Barclays had to chase Countrywide and request a revision, causing further unnecessary delays to my mortgage process.
Overall, this experience was unacceptable. If I had a choice, I would NOT USE Countrywide Surveying Services again. I will also be submitting a formal complaint to Barclays.
Abysmal service
Abysmal. Incompetent. Arrogant and unresponsive.
After suffering 17 years of renting with these in place as agents I can honestly say I have never had a proper businesslike response from them.
My landlord has also been ripped off for an atrocious service.
Avoid like the plague
Countrywide Property Management Team
On behalf of Taylor’s Estate Agents in Stevenage.
What an awful, negligent company. They allowed my brother to move into a rental property, knowing the landlord had intentions to sell the property before allowing my brother to sign a tenancy and pay a full deposit. The property is inhabitable, with no working lighting in the hallway and kitchen. It had no working oven for 2-months. It’s had no working washing machine. Upon move in, the only bathroom sink waste was not connected and so could not be used for 2weeks so he had to wash in the kitchen sink. The extractor fan above the hob does not work. Majority of items listed on check in inventory and 2.5 months later none are resolved. Their property management team are atrocious, obnoxious and rude. They do not want to assist, as it’s clear the landlord is not interested in his legal duties due to having the apartment under offer, which Taylor’s & Countrywide were and are more than aware of. My brother pays a substantial amount in rent, to have to ship in meals, pay for dry cleaning or washing services on top because they can’t resolve anything. All for the pleasure of having notice served on him at any time, due to it being sold before he even moved in.
We’ve dealt with a senior member of staff within Countrywide Prop Man team to ‘resolve’ a formal complaint, and she didn’t call 6 times in a row when she promised, ignores emails, hasn’t resolved the complaint and in her last communication wiped her hands of it. Avoid like the plague.
BREACHED OF CONTRACT TERMS
Not an exiting experience, poor customer communication, I dont know what they are smoking, not willing to take correction to fix their errors for the sake of peace .
John francis swansea letting agency, countrywide and the lanlord wrongfully accusation for already paid rent in reference to contract terms "THEREAFTER" and have provided them proof of bank payment but still ignored and denied , they keep twisting their email wordings and creating more confussions which make them sound strange.
Gave proof of bank payment for already paid 3 months which was emailed to the agency John Francise Swanea but was ignored and now claiming rent is in areas when its not.
All payments were made in full prior to moving in and onward till now.
I dont understand why all the persistant phone calls and their contradictions email harrasment, threat of References, threat of eviction e.t.c, when the proof has been provided to them that we up to date with payment.
I have never dealt with such rental contract term that was signed and agreed on contract terms wording "THEREAFTER"
• This means rent is due after the rental period has passed and that what we are sticking on by.
Instead they are asking rent be paid " IN ADVANCE" of each month but that is not what the wording in the contract terms.
These two word are completly different
"IN ADVANCE" VS "THEREAFTER"
Ambiguous wording like “thereafter” can lead to misunderstandings.
And the funny part is that they are not accepting their error of contract terms and dont want to change it, no appologies, very rude, ignorant, unproffessional, keep repeating themselves like robot reading from script.
If they want us to pay rent IN ADVANCE that not an issue, we have asked them to correct the contract terms wording from THEREAFTER to IN ADVANCE so we can resign the contract and then next payment will be paid IN ADVANCE but this people dont want to do it.
After our contract end, no more renting , with all the other issues of contract breached we experienced with persistant next door barking dog, Landlord not fulfiling his part has not fixed the rotten door, was previously using our home address for his letter delivery, left his personal itmes in our backyard, sending uninvited surveyor who claim to check for damp, leakage , cracks , which turns to be another lies. , we will be buying our own flat, enough of this nonses.
Really Bad Experience
Really Bad Experience. I would like to advise any prospective buyer to stay away from this Broker Mr Branavan Rajakumar. who works with Taylors Estates Agent. Just for the sake of getting his commission he over charged me and forced me to apply through them otherwise hey will not deal with the property. They told me lie that property is freehold and chain free. I wasted too much money and have to spend 7 months to get the completion. This was my life's biggest mistake I trust on them. Be advise please stay away form them they are robbers and cheaters.
Very disappointed
Very disappointed.
The surveyor who survived our property was very nice & I thought helpful until our buyer pulled out due to his survey. Just a few points. He said the timber floor boards should be looked at due to damp we have concrete floors.!! Gutters we're a problem as they were blocked, this time of year with all the oak trees, I'm not surprised thou he made it sound awful. No hearthstone for wood burner ,well it's standing on 4 great big slabs. I could go on but won't. If you don't want to buy a property they can put you off of it.
Don’t use this insurance so many…
Don’t use this insurance so many charges when you want to leave them. Stay away.
I am really cross
I am really cross. The agent looking after my property sale was asked in September 2025 if they still held keys for the property as my family member tenant had lost theirs.
New owner going in November 2025 wanted property completely empty plus the keys
For 5 weeks i raced around trying to locate keys, locate a spare set, get movers in at exact same time as a locksmith. I eventually managed to cross hatch everyone's needs and had a gut instinct to check agent one last time re spare keys
Got a different staff member; "Oh yes. We have keys!" The evening before movers and locksmith to attend.
I shouldn't have had to ask twice. Trust gone.
Knowing movers had to get in THAT exact date and locksmith also could only do that date, I had to wait until next day to triple check absolutely keys in Countrywide office.
I didn't trust anyone at this point and couldn't risk movers or locksmith abandoning job
Keys WERE there but I was only told 9.35 a.m. 30 minutes after locksmith left me with £257 bill.
An unnecessary bill had September email been answered correctly with YES WE HAVE KEYS
I also had 5 weeks bills in my home to pay which I would not have had if keys located as flat could have been emptied and new owner in much earlier
I have emailed Countrywide and had only blame shifting. No apology. No refund of locksmith. Now stonewalling
That one mistake in September started a catalogue of costs and stress for me. Unacceptable
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
If your estate agent uses this company to handle the property management, DO NOT SIGN THE LEASE. They are the worst. They don't respond to calls or emails. They took weeks to address repairs that never were fixed. They will downgrade your exit survey so that they can keep your deposit which I got at the full clearance from my landlord. Incompetence at its finest.
1 month for return of desposit
I've just had to chase for the return of my deposit. This was an uncomplicated end of tenancy, with my full deposit being returned. I've just been told that it will take up to an additional 10 working days - totalling a month since the end of my tenancy. They ignored the questions in my email. 1 star review because 0 wasn't an option.
I needed clarification regarding LPA's and Professional deputies.…
I needed clarification regarding LPA's and the correct method for Attorneys to use them.
I also needed details of Professional Deputies and how to engage them. CTT were most helpful but advised they no longer were active in that market.
Rip off company
I being elderly can be a bit vague at times. Checking some stuff revealed that the company increased my monthy payments by 90 percent with no reason. I will never use them again
DO NOT REPLY NO CONTACT
Insured for years taken payments but when you try to make a claim you cannot contact anybody. You text them to call you back and they give you a one ring call. Stopped paying my premium 4 months ago as a way to make contact and they still haven't been in touch. Ridiculous.
