So the first time I used this company I had a good experience in relation to ordering and delivery, though I did think the product purchased was a little on the expensive side but as I had no previous experience of buying logs I thought it was just me. First purchase was two bulk bags of Ash which were delivered at the end of January 2024 and the woodburner was fitted in the first week of February. Didn't go mad with usage, five logs per day, two bulk bags of Ash costing £380 lasted just three months, so those two bags contained around 420 logs at a cost of around £0.90 pence per log which is rather expensive in my opinion. I've just taken delivery of my second purchase, I've learned my lesson re burn times of Ash and gone for Hornbeam for winter 2024/25 as it's supposed to burn much hotter and much longer, we will see. However, the giant crate stated 690KG of Hornbeam which translated to 625 logs, I know because I had to unload and re stack every one of them out back, many of which were little strips akin to kindling so I was less than impressed ! Not what I expected having paid £550 for the giant crate of logs. If these Hornbeam burn at the same rate as the Ash, I do hope not, then an expensive purchase because these have come in at £0.88 per log, though they are a lot thinner than the Ash. Of course I won't be able to offer an opinion regarding the valid merits of Hornbeam until winter descends upon us again. It does seem to be a total lottery regarding both what size of logs you receive for your money and who weighs the bags/crates appear to add any old tat just to make up the weight. Or is it just me !
