Unregulated Care, Broken Oversight

CPSO allows internationally trained physicians (ITPs) to work under delegation, as an Clinical assistant/ Associate physician but there is no real standardized system behind it.
In practice, unlicensed ITPs are seeing patients and doing real clinical work, yet there’s no clear credential verification, no registry, and no consistent oversight. Patients don’t always know who is involved in their care, and ITPs are working hard but their experience is not even officially recognized.

At the same time, many are underpaid and used in private clinics without protection. It doesn’t feel fair, and it doesn’t feel fully safe.

Other provinces have regulated pathways. Ontario should too. Because right now, for an organization whose main job is to “protect the public,” this system really doesn’t reflect that.

CPSO panel said patient had stablized

CPSO panel said patient had stablized. CPSO said Troponin was irrelevant Patient had cardiogenic flash pulmonary edema (heart failure) LBBB treated with nitro cpap then bipap. Troponin rise of 700% in 2 hours. Left ventricle hypokenisis. Then went into cardiogenic shock requiring vasporessor’s. On oxygen with low sats and high respiration for 18 hours. It took 3 physicians 18 hours to diagnose patient with a massive heart attack. Something EMS did 18 hours earlier. Cardiologist didn’t order an anticoagulant for 13 hours.

Oh first physician has second full time job he works concurrently. I sent the college a video of him being interviewed explaining his jobs and he does them concurrently. I also supplied the college proof he was working both.

At first I questioned three physicians, now it’s six. College did f all. Every physician was divergent from current guidelines. Move it along. Nothing to see here.

Just Google the patients symptoms. That’s exactly what they had.

Fails to protect the public.CPSO is self governing and only protects Doctors.

My principal concern relates to the adverse effects of the prescribed psychiatric medications. The initial medication resulted in suicidal ideation, yet the treating psychiatrist continued prescribing additional drugs without convening a family meeting or reassessing risk in consultation with family members. In light of these facts, it is my position that, but for the administration of these psychiatric medications, my daughter would be alive today. Despite this, CPSO found the psychiatrist had no wrong doing.

Third party Non-bias organization only send the information you sent him to the doctor you don’t see the doctors response. All decisions are final! fixed

I was contacted by the college physician after I contacted them about a complaint about my family doctor. Within 24 hours I received a notice that I was dismissed as a patient and when I never filed a complaint or sign won the college of physician’s made one up for me. The reason the investigation was never completed was because I had to get a lawyer involved to stop the investigation that I never authorized. Even though I have the letter with them stating they’ve created a complaint. Even though I have evidence that the company did not bill my OHIP card for almost 2 years. They try to claim that I did not come in for appointments yet I have five pages of prescriptions from my pharmacy showing all the medication I received by prescriptions from appointments. Then I informed the College of physicians that my 20 year medical history had been reduced to five half filed envelopes sent to me via Purolator. They notified me that undercurrent Ontario law it is illegal for these new private healthcare companies to only send the records they choose they on the records. Just so you know the number one thing you need for a lawsuit for malpractice is your medical records which you now do not have access to. By the time I found a new doctor my medical records have been reduced to 17 faxed pages. This is a person with hemachromatosis, atrial fibrillation, severe depression, parasomnia three long-term hospital stays during that time and it was 17 pages faxed. No reports for any of the test I did. Absolutely no information about the hospital stays all legal under Canadian law and this is what the Ontario college of physicians sizes OK. Remember the college is the organization that gives a license to the physician to practice in the province of Ontario they have the power to take that license away they choose not to. The Ontario government has mandated that the Ontario college of physicians get every bit of information that you supply in your complaint against your doctor. However the Ontario government and the Ontario college of physicians have decided not to extend that courtesy to the patient. The doctor response you have no idea what they have said and the decision is based on that. This is an organization That is nothing more than an excuse for the government to say there is something in place but at the end of the day it is funded by doctors who have a $56 billion slush fund that they can use for these matters please look online you’ll find the newspaper articles I don’t think I’m legally allowed to put them here because of the Canadian government. There is no reason for a doctor not to go scorched earth when it comes to malpractice because it doesn’t cost them a dime and if the Ontario college of physicians fines in the doctors favour which overwhelmingly over 99% of the time do and all public clear hearings have been blocked to the public that decision is final and you will never find a lawyer. If the doctor is found guilty there is no compensation to you and all that happens to the doctor If they get a reprimand letter for their file. No penalty no number of strikes and you lose your right to practice in the province this is nothing but an organization of fixers that is posing as some sort of as they say non-bias third-party organization. Do you sell non-biased and how can I be non-biased when doctors pay for them! Avoid like the plague it is fixed organization that will take away all your options. I literally had to pay for a lawyer to stop the investigation that I never authorized to begin with

Dr. Missiuna and Wendy

Dr. Missiuna and his assistant Wendy are a fantastic team! Working in a pain clinic must be stressful in itself, but Dr. Missiuna always takes time to answer my many questions, and makes me feel at ease. Wendy is always able to work around my, sometimes busy, schedule instead of just putting me anywhere like most assistants. While Dr. Missiuna is administering the procedure, Wendy is always right there taking my mind off the pain. I repeat, an awesome pair! I love the Minerva Pain Clinic, but especially this team! Thank you!

Zero Action for Flagrant Misconduct

My doctor misdiagnosed me for 9 years and then when it was finally recognized he deleted my chart at the hospital and falsified my health records with the names of 2 other physicians in my prescription history. I filed a complaint with the CPSO to investigate the matter and they told me to "just go away" and then put on the "out of office" indicator on their emails. I realize the CPSO gets many ill intended complaints but my case was a clear instance of severe professional misconduct and I was shocked that the regulators were so apathetic to such a major series of infractions. I am appealing my case to the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board to have it referred back to the CPSO in order to mandate them to conduct a proper investigation into the incident. I am shocked at the lack of response from this regulatory college. Very disappointing to know how poorly regulated healthcare is in the province of Ontario.

I have completely lost faith in ontario's health care system system thanks to CPSO

I have completely lost faith in ontario's health care system.
Filed a complaint against a seriously negligent surgeon who put my health at risk, lied repeatedly and caused me significant harm. The CPSO complaints committee reviewed only part of my complaint, ignoring the most serious transgressions, believed the dishonesty that the negligent surgeon spewed in order to protect his own interests and decided to do nothing. I was completely shocked and speechless when I read the outcome of my complaint. Doctor's can literally get away with anything in this province - you have destroyed my trust in you and in Ontario physicians. Thanks to you I've come to learn that Doctors can lie, harm patients, hire expensive lawyers, and walk away from any accountability for their actions.

COVID
CPSO
College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
Since the beginning of the Covid plandemic, Colleges of Physician and Surgeons across Canada have suspended or revoked the licences of dozens of doctors for a list of alleged offences. Writing exemptions for both masks and vaccines. Advising their patients not to take the vaccines, or publicly criticizing vaccines at work or on social media.
While these persecutions of doctors have been happening across the country, nowhere has the College abused its power moreso than in Ontario. Dr. Patrick Phillips, Dr. Crystal Luchkiw, Dr. Chris Shoemaker, Dr. Mark Trozzi, Dr. Rochagne Kilian, and the list goes on. Good, conscientious doctors exercising not just their right, but their responsibility to put their patients first.

A few months ago, one of the bravest of our good doctors, Dr. Mark Trozzi chose to stand up to the CPSO, the Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons. He went before a tribunal hearing panel of the CPSO, and along with his lawyer Michael Alexander, defended his actions.

The outcome was never in any doubt. The College revoked Dr. Trozzi’s license and charged him $94,000 dollars for the cost of the proceedings.

But Michael had expected that. In fact, he’s been playing a long game with the CPSO since the start of his legal proceedings against them on behalf of Dr. Trozzi.

On Friday, February 23rd, Michael filed an appeal, not with the CPSO, but with the provincial court. And this time, the trial will not be based upon whether or not Dr. Trozzi obeyed the recommendations of the College, but whether the College, in their witch hunt against him, exercised the principals of legal correctness.

As you will discover in this interview with Michael Alexander and Dr. Mark Trozzi, not only did the CPSO not behave in a manner that was legally and procedurally correct, but in many cases they committed blatant violations of law and procedure. And these violations will be revealed in provincial court.

This time, it is not an ethical doctor who is on trial. It is the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

And should the court find that the College did not follow correct legal practices, that decision could well have a ripple effect across the country. A ripple effect that could lead to the reinstatement of countless doctors and nurses, reparations for harms caused to them and their patients, and investigations into the criminal behaviour of the Colleges.

My doctor terminated me from their…

My doctor terminated me from their practice. After reading CPSO’s policy on terminations, doctors are required to make every effort to resolve any issues with the patient. My doctor did not do this so I reported him to CPSO. The person I dealt with was fine, but there were no repercussions for the doctor. My complaint just went on his file. With the shortage of doctors in Ontario, thus, the difficulty to get care, there should be stricter policies around terminating a patient for no valid reason and be required to maintain the patient. I think CPSO needs to re-write their policies to better serve the Ontarians who pay into this already unstable health care system.

Horrific but oh so Canadian.

The CPSO serves as a safety net for western trained MDs, not for patients.

I lodged a complaint last August and the wonderful case officer to whom I spoke, who is no longer there, was startlingly honest when I gave her the facts of the case. She told me that though I had documentation, both personal and professional, nothing would be done. She actually said to me "...people are dying and nothing is being done. No one is going to care about this." She was very correct. In December, I received a notice that a panel had reviewed my case and said that the allopath had acted appropriately. He almost killed me, he gaslighted me and lied in his documentation process. He also refused to hand over my file, which I am legally allowed to have. But they were fine with all of that. The CPSO is similar to the mob in that they protect their own and they have no inclination to help any patients. Allopath's know that they're essentially untouchable regardless of their ineptitude and malfeasance. They're literally killing people and nothing is being done.

We now leave the country for all care, and I mean all. I will not allow a Canadian allopath to touch me; I will not have an image taken or read by anyone attached to this nonsense. Too many "mistakes", too much laziness and too blase to even consider letting these people near myself, my husband or our child. This system is bottom-of-the-barrel and the fraud that happens regularly is simply unbelievable.
