HELL ON EARTH
We checked in no problem but found our caravan is a disgusting state, cleaner had been in and made the beds up and put blue cleaner down the toilets but that was it. Half eaten food in fridge, thick dust everywhere, crumbs and sand on floors, missing tv in main bedroom, 32 in" tv in lounge (we'd paid for a 43" to use as a family on an evening as we were haven hideaway. I have autism and mental health illnesses and my son is also autistic so the loud, rowdy entertainment/complex is no good for us, Hense the need for the Tvs. My son fell through the step entering the caravan it's broken, cigarette ends outside the caravan, crisps all over sofa, dirty sofa bed, sweet papers under beds, kettle switch broken, greasy oven, dirty patio table on the balcony but no chairs, it was insulting after traveling with 4 kids nearly 5 hours to get there. We struggled all week arrived (Monday 21st) to find any helpful staff, we wanted a refund and to go home, I had to clean the caravan myself and had a very rude experience from a cleaner who turned up at 7pm (after I'd started cleaning the caravan myself, she said she'd been sent back because of food left in fridge, I asked her name as planned on reporting her she replied "I'm not giving you my fu**ing name and walked away. Our check in time was between 3 and 4pm, we arrived at 4pm. This should of all been avoided if haven had done their job. Between the time of arrivel complaining straight away and the arrival of the rude cleaner at 7pm another cleaner had been to the caravan and removed the food from the fridge but not actually cleaned, hense I ended up doing it myself so my kids could come in. That's 3 cleaners in one day, none of which did there job. I had a mental breakdown in reception about the way we had been treated, this triggered me and I was very ill all week. My husband continued multiple times Tuesday and Wednesday to find a senior staff member to give us a refund as we didn't want to stay, nobody ever came to help us. I wrote a letter of complaint which my husband handed in Wednesday morning listing all the unhygienic conditions, rude staff and poor service. Finally Thursday morning when my husband returned to reception 9am the blonde receptionist said the manager "Jen" had authorised is a full refund. We packed up and returned with the key later Thursday morning to no be told by Jen the "manager" she won't issue the refund even though she had already authorised it and new we were packing to leave early. She said the reason being she needs to "investigate" my complaint was about her and her cleaning staff so how can she investigate? Plus she had already told us we can have a full refund! We had 3 days of hell, putting up with insulting staff, dirty/greasy caravan and had a very unhappy experience. We only continued to stay while my husband constantly tried to chase down a manager to refund us. We came to stay (first time with Haven) as a rest and recoup holiday as the week before I'd been in hospital due to my mental health, obviously all this triggered more episodes. The manager Jen is using my mental breakdown down I had in reception on Mondays arrival as reason not to refund us, this is discrimination against mental disability. Yes I was distressed, shaking and shouting at her but never threatened anyone. She new I'd been very distressed at havens poor service but still authorised the refund on Thursday morning, only to then change her mind. This is beyond insulting and the most un professional attitude we have ever experienced. We drove home Thursday, not due to leave till Friday. It took 3 days to get hold of a manager and that's how she tret us. Having worked in the hospitality industry for years myself before becoming ill, I was appalled at the attitudes of the manager, cleaners and reception staff. There was also no matteress protectors on any of the beds which is also poor hygiene along with a strange whistling noise every night after we had had the heating on, it went on and off every night keeping us awake (suspected the boiler which we also reported) The only person how actually spoke to us like we were people and tried to help us was JIM from maintaince. Our missing tv was finally replaced Wednesday afternoon but by this point far too late. Our son is Autistic and needs his own space when he gets overwhelmed so from Monday to Wednesday we struggled to keep him calm. All this added to my stress and I'm now home receiving help from mental health team. We have made an official complaint and spoken to higher than the craig tara park. When a guest is clearly unwell and distressed you do not speak abruptly to them and refuse the refund that had already been authorised. It is mental disability discrimination. The owner of Haven should be ashamed.
All of which I have photography evidence.
Dirty filthy caravan
Dirty filthy caravan complained and they said hey had no record even though we had photos disgusting u should be ashamed .and I had pictures .people aren't animals we deserve clean
Our stay at Craig Tara
Our stay at Craig Tara was a mixed bag , the park itself had lovely views and on the whole was pretty well maintained but the level of cleanliness in our caravan was very poor ! From rusty dusty radiators to filthy mattresses (which thankfully we did not discover until day of departure) we were pretty shocked and disgusted for the price we paid . The facilities were good for kids and the evening entertainment was great , although food and drinks prices were extortionet and the site shops overpriced . We 100% won’t be back .
Cats Pi55, dog poo & sticky floor
Hired a sea view diamond lodge for 3 days/nights(pet free)
Arrived at our check in time to find cleaners still in the lodge, once they let us access the caravan we were immediately hit with a extremely strong smell of cat pee (that was with all windows open) I went to reception to complain and was told they would pass inform management, awaiting a response we bought a few bottles of febreze to temporarily hide the smell and left all windows open full time.
Outside that evening and noticed a bag of dog poo tied to the decking and a lead secured to the bench confirming pets were in the lodge previously, I also found a bag of kitty litter on the utility cupboard.
The frustrating thing is we paid over £1k to ensure it was safe for our 6 week old baby.
During the stay the toilet constantly run, the blinds were broken, the floor was very sticky and we were supplied no towels.
Still no response from management to we again complained when we were checking out and assured this would be highlighted to management.
Arrive home frustrated at the very poor condition of the caravan and overall site so send a formal complaint to Criag Tara, a few hours later I received a generic email apologising and hoping our next stay would be great!!!
Suffice to say we will not be back, an complaint will be send to haven and I will be letting everyone I k ow how rough and unhygienic craig tara is,
Shame really as the setting lovely, just spoiled by the clientele and poor upkeep.
Arrival was pretty quick and in order
Arrival was pretty quick and in order. Came into our caravan thay was over £700 for 4 nights. Couch was stained looked like semen. Walls were mouldy. There was a pull out bin that a plaster was put on the hinge to hide the fact it was broken. My son stubbed his toe in a bit of wood broken from the kitchen table bench! Beds are clean but the bathroom was manky. Seagulls are mental in the morning.
Bongo wonga bar smells of urine and sticky everywhere. 20 minutes to wait for a drink.
Arcades were full of bad behaved children who stole and shoved their way into people and younger kids.
Domestic violence
Parents.. Family's.. Drinking day and night fighting on the park outside caravans. Ontop of each other. Loads of swearing shouting and smell of weed everywhere is vile
Reported it twice to be told of a security guard happens everywhere is minging.
We won't be back, even the effin dog was depressed.
HORRENDOUS ACCOMDATTION BY HAVEN
**Review of Craig Tara Caravan Park via Haven**
I arrived at Craig Tara Caravan Park at 16:20, only to find the cleaners still working on all caravans. The state of cleanliness in our caravan was horrendous. Traveling with a disabled child and three other children, I was appalled to find that the caravan was not cleaned at all—only the bed sheets were changed. Cleaning cloths were left on the floor, leaving wet patches.
Staff cleaners were seen near the bins, laughing and smirking at everyone struggling with their bags while stepping over overflowing rubbish. This left my children stuck in a hot, smelly, and filthy caravan. Photos show the unacceptable conditions, including an Oreo under the beds, a suspicious baggy with white substance in the kids' room, blinds and curtains hanging off the windows, and a razor blade cover on the main bed.
I find it disgusting that after paying £586 for four nights, we had to spend two hours cleaning before letting the children enjoy their holiday. This was meant to be a break after my daughter's recent operation, but there was no compassion for our situation.
Despite the poor conditions, we made the best of the situation. Craig Tara Holiday Park offers plenty to do with access to the beach, but the caravan accommodation was horrendous. The staff's treatment of paying guests is unacceptable, and the reception and customer service were extremely rude.
After visiting Haven every year since 2011 at different locations, I will not book with Haven again. This experience was deeply disappointing and stressful, particularly given our family's circumstances.

I wouldn't have given it 1 star but no choice...First impressions good..then it went down hill fast...got to our caravan..no keys had to have a new lock..First impression inside van good..BUT..curtains in main room hanging down...3rd bedroom no curtains at all...no kitchen bin..shelves missing in fridge...carpet filthy..seating smelt of sick...by this time we had unpacked...should gave got them to move us...but couldn't be bothered to pack everything up again...we took duvets of beds to put on seating...we went out and purchased bleach and dettol spray..it helped a bit...grass needed cutting at least 10 inches high...we were there a week and it never got done...where we were on alloway it was full of loud mouth kids and their parents...infact it was kids with kids...never seen so many in my life...then there was the smoking of weed...bloody awful...got woken up most mornings at 2 o'clock...not good..we paid nearly £300 for that hole...on one of the roads there was a dirty sanitary towel disgusting...and to top it all one of the staff arrived at a van opposite to bring some new plates..she did no more but wipe them on her t-shirt..I just couldn't believe what I was seeing...the worst haven site I have ever stayed at....I drove 350 mile to that hole...I read reviews on haven site..from now on I'm going to read reviews on trip advisor...much more accurate...we didn't use facilities so can't comment on them...
Of all the times I’ve stayed at Craig…
Of all the times I’ve stayed at Craig Tara I have never seen it so overcrowded with hooligans and Ned’s. Our van window was broken but that wasn’t even the worst thing to happen. The club was dirty and unsafe there was cocaine all over the toilets and vomit and poop. Holes punched in ceiling and electrical wires hanging down my 9yr old son could easily reach. There was drunken disorderly adults and children. The tables were full of half eaten food and drink. Glasses piled high. Botox sunbed turkey teeth Nike wearing hasbeen thugs with 20 something Pete burns lookalike girlfriends and their squad of kids that u could tell we’re not well behaved either. Bus loads of ppl kept coming despite it already being overcrowded. Nightmare holiday from hell. Need a holiday after that so called holiday. Left early and told staff who couldn’t care less. Beyond angry at this. Hoping for a refund if I’m honest it’s the least they can do. I feel due compensation as I’m sleep deprived and traumatized at the whole experience but a refund would do. Never again. 🤬
Well worth the money
Amazing stay caravan was spotless I only had one thing to complain about the staff will give out free tickets to anyone who said the machine was broken or not giving there tickets and when I asked about this they said they sorted it but someone got 10000 10 thousand!!! Tickets just from doing this ao don't spend your money but amazing experience and will definitely be going again
Never again
Booked a private Caravan for kids at Craigtara, one who is in a wheelchair, Caravan was lovely, in front of the sea and enjoyed that, however the complex was terrible we're new to the Haven set up so went up to the club for the kids entertainment but was told I need passes so asked where to buy they said it closed 5 mins ago, so fair enough if that's the Haven law I won't be back they could've just let us in buy them the next day or pay at the door or something, but to turn back a family with 4 disappointed kids and one in a wheelchair I thought was Pretty poor tbh, so went in the amusements but was too busy, not for wheelchairs, the whole set up was like a junk yard, poor quality and terrible set up, won't be back but may try other Havens and book my passes before hand but Craigtara never again
Earywig infestion in caravan
Earywig infestion in caravan. They were nesting in the bed covers. Crawling every where at night. Had to remove my children from the beds and kill them but they keep on coming out of the matress and bed covers. Abousetly horrified. Caravan wasnt cleaned properly. Also a massive rat running about the caravans. When we left the caravan my parents left there jacket and some other stuff and they said it isnt there which is obviously a lie the cleaner have took there stuff. Absoutley disgusted this was in prestige caravan aswell no exactly cheap to rent.
Glad we ignored the negative reviews Having read some terrible reviews we…
Having read some terrible reviews we weren't expecting much however, the caravan was spotless, the staff were most welcoming and friendly. Gave us good advice where to eat etc. We have had the most wonderful time here and will definitely return even though we live 6 hours away. You need to come and judge for yourself as we are now sure some of these reviews are grossly unfair based on our experience. Thank you Craig Tara for a wonderful week.
Just don’t go there!
We were told to check in 5-6 pm then received text to say due to illness to make it later, which we did. We had booked a dog friendly apartment. When we arrived the apartment STANK of dogs and had not been cleaned. Food left lying, beds unmade, toilet and shower filthy. The mattresses were grim and we would not have slept on them. I phoned the reception and explained. The wee girl I spoke to was apologetic and asked me to hold on, which I did. She came back and said she was sending down cleaners to tidy up. Believe me it would have take six cleaners two hours to get rid of the dog smell! There was also a huge Biffa container right outside the apartments which was chock full and overflowing with rubbish. Seagulls were having a field day ripping open the bags and there was definitely a high risk of other vermin such as rats. Already there were groups of people of six or more sitting in the outside areas and drinking heavily at 6.30 pm!
The receptionist informed me they would refund the first night because of the problems we had, but by this time we had decided to cancel and simply go home. Fortunately we had not brought our grandchildren with us this time as they would have been so disappointed.
Apparently the cost of the break will be refunded to us. We will wait and see!
Steer clear of this park. Just don’t go!
Disgustingly filthy apartments
The accommodation in apartments is 'DISGUSTING'
FILTHY MATRESSES AND CARPETS.
SUB STANDARD CUPBOARDS IN KITCHEN AND A BAD SMELL OF VOMIT IN ONE BEDROOM MAKING IT A PLACE NO ONE COULD HAVE SLEPT ( GOOD JOB THERE WERE ONLY TWO OF US IN EACH APARTMENT)
I WOULD SUGGEST THAT HAVEN USE MATTRESS COVERS AS THE MATRESSES WERE AWFUL!
This was to have been a relaxing break and was anything but.
There was plenty for childeren to do.
The restaurant was not a good place to sit for a meal with pots laying on numerous tables along with a bottle of cleaning spray.... for at least two hours while we were there.
Everywhere was understaffed and dirty.
Mattress full of urination left out in front of our apartment for a whole day ( you don't want this when sat outside on veranda)
My advice would be...dont go to an apartment here as they are sub- standard
Basics hadn't been cleaned in the…
Basics hadn't been cleaned in the caravan. Dirty ring marks on the main table, splashes and stains all over the mirrors, crumbs on the carpet, marks and spills on walls and windows throughout the place. The carpet needs cleaned and so does the furniture as it's rotten. I'm just pleased my baby wasn't crawling by then. Toilet stinks of urine, I cleaned it and cleaned the floor and could still smell it. Beds were clean which was the only bonus. The pull out bed mattress in the living room looks 100 years old... so dirty. I'm actually not fussy but I would not sleep in it. Shower looked clean and the sink in the shower room was clean. Toilet sink had toothpaste on the walls. Good job I fetched anti bacterial wipes. No oven tray for the oven. It also smelled musty and old as we came in. Disappointed but im not one to make a fuss so I cleaned it myself.
On site everything costs a fortune. 4 places to eat but the chippy isn't that nice, and I queued in the pizza place to realise its £18 a pizza so walked off. No Internet unless you are by the main reception so we couldn't order food to the caravan from anywhere else or anything. We'd seen everything by the second day. The farm park next door has much more to do than the whole of haven. Kids entertainment place needs cleaned as well as it's just sticky everywhere you touch. Hate to have to write this but this is my experience.
Filthy and only care about making money on anything they can.
Would not recommend! Stay Away!
When we arrived our caravan was missing mattresses and half of the couch was missing. They were nice enough to give us another room with drawers broke, broken lights and a room that stinks of sh1te. The Brigs of Ayr wasn’t exactly pleasant either, Their workers are crabby gets and would do anything to stop customers that haven’t booked getting in, even though there’s plenty of seats. Overall I would not recommend taking a trip to Craig Tara Caravan park.
Waste of money everything extremely…
Waste of money everything extremely over priced, they make money out of absolutely everything.
Staff inexperience lazy standing around giggling at customers.
The Brig restaurant was empty went to get 2 tables the waitress huffed and puffed when she turned her back she then turned around said there were no available tables.
Apparent was stinking of wet dog, bed matters clearly had a pishy guest going by all the yellow stains on it.
Staff moaning at kids playing on a climbing frame because they were shouting as kids do when having fun.
Swimming pool grubby I'm just waiting on the verrucas to appear. Seen a life guard blow on his whistle constantly then struggled to help a young boy out the water when he was panicking.
Going by other guest reactions this park will struggle in the future.
All in all very half hearted effort from the shambles of a work force
My daughter kids n husband booked here…

Hi I checked in on Monday the 19th and left Thursday evening . My first day from
Start to finish was terrible it’s left me in tears I honestly can’t believe that haven has treated me this .
I visited previously earlier this year on the 11th of July with my 2 girls aged 4&7 at that time my daughter was attacked and we faced a lot of racism comments where made of my daughter being called a black rat , smelly curry pakis , but unfortunately I had already booked my second visit so I returned this September for a break .
After speaking to management ( Ashley ) away back in July who reassured me that we would be treated like special guests and all arrangements put in place for my second visit to be smooth sailing with my children I definitely did not expect to be disappointed .
On day of arrival we had check in late ( due queens funeral understandable ) ✅ I got in the cleaning standards were outrageous , a obvious splattered dead fly on the cupboard door , then the cleaner had mopped leaving massive wet puddles my lil one slipped on the way in considering we checked in after 5.30pm giving them time it honestly looked like they had just left as we arrived , the single beds for kids only 1 of these where made up not both , then the sofas all full of crumbs .
The main double bedroom lights where not working , the fireplace was also not working which is one my favourite features . Theses where reported and maintenance came to correct these problems .
So Tuesday Iv got settle kids in there own beds , and found the blood was blood stained also wee spiders , I wasn’t happy
Iv paid for a 2 bedroom caravan and shared a double bed with my 2 children the whole stay this was disappointing.
I cleaned the caravan myself just to make myself comfortable, for best interest of my children there safety and hygiene.
Thursday in the restaurant there was a further most serious issue , I decided last day let’s enjoy ourself il treat you a to a coke each with your lunch . My daughters coke that we all drank and had been sharing was full of flies all swimming having a party in the bubbles i couldt believe it , my children had half finished it , Sharon from the restaurant can verify my visits to restaurants where frequent it had been a bad week as half the menu food options where not even available, the service in there is so bad , we were ignored and kids had to keep going to personally call staff for attention , the flies made us sick I got paranoid and just wanted after to leave my children are bloody scared from a coke ! My wee one was crying ,
The holiday both times was a shambles
First time sorry I no longer have the booking details but guest names are the same I stayed in no.6 dramyple village .
I honestly can’t say which visit was worse , definitely the racism’s and my child being attacked which led to us also leaving our last visit early due to her Ankle injury where I had medical assistance at that park , and later brought her home to see our doctors .
I did not complain I thought am visiting again let’s give haven a chance to show me better , but sadly they manager still hasn’t returned my calls or made any appearances or apologies .
All issues past and this week reported and notes on the account booking .
Lastly on leaving with all the upset I left behind a pink luggage bag which I called at 7.30m spoke to security who said they would call me back no surprise I havnt had a call back , the luggage back has my medication, I have made several calls to the park and again reception don’t even answer there phone to hear me out . Am without my medications and under so much stress not knowing if am even getting my bag back or not .
Please please please I beg you don’t ignore my message and deal with this . It be appreciated
Thank you

Untrustworthy. Not Recommended. Stay Away!
Katrina and the rest of the people that run this company are no good. They are very ignorant. Don’t take your calls. Speak to you like crap when they do speak to you. Take your money from you and don’t let you know when you will ever get your money back. They are are rude and obnoxious. They are scamming people that are trying to rent caravans from them and also scamming the owners who are using their services. This company CANNOT be trusted. I do not recommend this company at all.
