Today I called and reported that a neighbor had destroyed our property. A very unprofessional consultant said it was civil matter. She refused to help and brought my partner into ill health. Your institution definitely does not deserve even one star. You also do not deserve any contributions from Council tax. You're worth zero.

Useless

Useless, just plain and simply a useless force that employs dirty tactics to catch motorists for simple things other than do any real work that requires effort or brains.

Kendall police station

I was arrested and took to Kendall police station. I must say the staff are lovely and the police were pretty sound as well. Very understanding for the situation never kicked off no brutality or you know the sly sh*t GMP police do.
The morning staff sun 20th july, 10 out of 10 for them, what a lovely sound set of people that actually look like they liked there job, they are a credit to the police force and I absolutely hate the police.
If you’re wondering what I got arrested for this time I didn’t actually do anything wrong. I stopped someone drink driving I know an we got in to altercation over it. But was released happy in the morning. And would like to thank them for the hospitality, I’ve bin in quite a few of these places but you hands down give me a total different out look on the police(well Cumbria police that is ).

Compassionate Policing

I observed the professional and caring nature of Cumbrian police whilst in Furness General Hospital A&E waiting room. Three police officers worked in shifts ensuring the safety of a person they had arrested who had to be checked to see if he was well enough to go into custody. I was very impressed with how they de-escalated the person when they became agitated and how they treated their charge like a person with respect and understood that mental illness is an illness. I just wanted to write this down because police don’t get recognised for the good things they do.

Such a shame...

Asked for police assistance regarding low level unsociable behaviour. A control room officer reviewed google maps to justify no further action. Nobody else bothered either. Absolutely useless - no investment in the community and no professionalism here.

Appalling…

Cumbia police uncontactable except in the case of an emergency. Otherwise, 101 is deliberately obstructive and their operaters are rude, dismissive and unhelpful. The operaters think nothing of talking over you and then hanging up. Think im wrong try ringing 101..otherwise try another way of getting in touch..oh thats right, there isnt any other way. Cumbria police is under seige and its all their own doing. They have cut off all contact with the public unless its on their own terms. Note to officers : im not your mate and my partner isnt your love and that isnt some kind of forplay to you swearing at us...we treat you with respect, why wont you reciprocate in kind?

Horrendous Barrow cops

Horrendous Barrow cops !
In our work and family have now had 4 burglaries , houses smashed up by tenants , we have provided proof of who done it and all you get is letters through the door with no further action. Yet they specialise in penalising good people. I have been wearing a neck collar as I have a slipped disc in my neck , I was stationery at traffic lights and I lifted the phone to look at the time only. I was followed and blue lighted when I had pulled in anyway as got home. A further police vehicle arrived which had a further 2 men , Now I have 3 police men , 2 vehicles and dogs on board 1 vehicle, The neighbours think it’s that disgusting they are putting the footage on Tik tok ! All this drama, They are totally useless ! The Ginger bald cop has an ego the size of a house on a police man’s wage !!! Why ? Barrow cops you are a joke, You are not respected by business people in this Town ! Do not come to any of our establishments for cctv and that’s quite a few ! We have helped you on so many occasions , Many people have asked me to add this review , followed up also by a compliant also. You do t do yourself any favours .The cops are always on their phones and parking wherever they like.

Their is no option !

Well folks, I am going to buck the trend.
I am not a police officer ,I don't know any police officers and yes, like a lot of other people, I have had my run ins with the law (driving etc).
That being said, myself and my wife and family, sit here in our home in Whitehaven in peace and relative safety.
Am I saying the police are beyond reproach ?, no, I am not, but tell me, where would we be without them ???
I spent time in South Africa so am well aware of the fears of a poorly policed society and the dangers that society brings .
Are there rotten apples within the police ? Of course there are, but there are also many many officers who joined the police to make a difference, to make sure that when we sit at home at night, there is less likelihood that someone will be bursting in to ruin your night.
Imagine a society without police !, we should be working with the police to create the change, these are normal men and women like you and me, and if they are not doing the job to the standard we need or expect, then let's constructively work to change that. We can sit here all day and slag them off, call them names and make their jobs even harder, or, we could work with them to create a force that meets our requirements and maybe, just maybe, all of us, including the police, will have a greater understanding of just what is wanted, possible and achievable.

Never Trust Cumbria Constabulary

Be very careful if you move to Cumbria and were born elsewhere because the disgraceful Cumbria Constabulary will foolishly allow themselves to listen to local fabricated xenophobic malicious gossip and will then do various checks upon you including background checks and any past criminal record checks even though you are doing no wrong and just trying to live in peace, and minding your own business.
This in your innocence will cause you immense problems within the local community and Cumbria Police are the one's to blame.

Motorists are an easier catch than criminals

Cumbria police in my opinion are the worst force in the country. They are hell bent on penalising the motorist to the extent that it is at the cost of serious crime going unchecked. I got flashed doing 35 in a 30 ...allegedly
.. at a place where rural national speed limit momentarily drops to 30. Google maps said I was doing 30 and my phone was sitting over the speedometer. It has never caused me a problem before. I raised this and they simply weren't interested. The office never answer the phone either and they couldn't even get my full address correct when sending out the speeding ticket. Wish they could catch some real criminals.

Dreadful…

They cannot even help us catch the person who rear ended us and refused to help. What’s the point in the police if you let people get away with committing crimes that are reported?!!

Had a long weekend expecting a 5star stay. Seems once they shut the door you aren’t allowed out to play unless they want to interview you. They didn’t take to kindly that I refused their all day breakfast, don’t know what their problem was I’d just picked my nose and eaten last nights left overs.

No help at all.

Received patronising response when asking for help. I won't go in to detail but apparently they don't know the contact details for the owners of vehicles any more. Okay then.
Oh, and they couldn't call because they were too busy with "more important investigations".
Well thank you Cumbria Constabulary for making me feel so totally unimportant. Last time I hand you any dashcam footage!
No wonder crimes aren't reported any more.
