10 YEAR warranty is worthless

Bought a Dansani sink cabinet with matching sink top from a local bathroom store about 2 years ago. It was sold with a 10 year guarantee and was fitted according to their instructions. The bathroom is well ventilated.We noticed after just over a year that the veneer on the top of both drawers was splitting. It has progressively got worse,much more on the upper drawer. We contacted the company we bought it from and sent pictures etc.They were very helpful and sent it all onto Dansani. After alot of to-ing and fro-ing Dansani said it was not covered by the warranty as it was caused by water ingress. They would supply us replacement front drawer covers for £700 as a goodwill gesture. The issue is caused by very poor design. Basically if you get any splashes of water on the porcelain sink top it runs under the front of the unit (there is no lip) and sits on the drawer top. Therefore you must open the drawer every time after using the sink and dry the underside of the sink top. I have had much cheaper units from e.g. IKEA in the past and this does not happen. We refused to pay for replacements and in the end the local company replaced the top drawer front free of charge for us as they agreed it was not acceptable. When they fitted the new front they angled the sink top so it slightly sloped backwards to see if that would help. It does not. As a result they are now not supplying Dansani. We were not the only customer who had an issue where Dansani refused to help. Avoid.

In response to Dansani's comments below.
Due to being quoted a cost of £717.00 we came to agreement with our supplier to only replace the top drawer. Our supplier paid for that themselves as they agreed the problem was being caused by poor design of the Dansani unit, not how it was fitted or the ventilation in our bathroom. Here is a copy of the email chain between our supplier and Dansani "Hi Jane,

I am so sorry about this and agree it’s not good enough.
That said, I have yet again emailed them to get a response as I wasn’t happy with the first response we had see below.
The cost of the drawer fronts would be £717 even with the 60% discount.
If I’ve not heard anything by tomorrow I will try other routes.

From the pictures it looks like the front has been damaged due to water - If any water should come onto the unit it is very important to remove the water to prevent it from being damaged. Please see our maintenance instruction.

It is not a general issue we have with our products, and we are sorry to hear that you have had this issue.
Our bathroom furniture’s are produced from materials that are suitable for bathrooms. It is, however, important to ensure proper ventilation and to install the furniture away from the bath/shower to avoid splashes of water and soap residues on the furniture.
If water sits on the top of the drawer without being removed, it can over time develop damages as in this case.

I can see that we provided both you and the dealer with a very favorable discount, which does not match the amount in the review.

Doors fell off.

Both doors of an expensive bathroom cabinet fell off chipping the basin below. The doors were attached to the hinges by an adhesive patch which failed. As the bathroom fitter had gone out of business, I couldn't source a receipt and the company wouldn't honour the warranty without a receipt.

Poor post-sale service

I was led to believe Dansani was a reputable company who made good quality furniture. I bought a vanity unit and was very happy with it in Jan 22. I bought with confidence as the company offers 10 year guarantees.

In Nov 23, I noticed the paint was peeling / fraying on sides of the two drawers. I reached out to them directly and they very promptly asked me to contact them via the showroom where I had purchased it. They replied fairly promptly asking if I would like to touch it up and they would supply some paint. My response was that the paint would be a sticky plaster solution and they should replace the drawer fronts.

Four weeks later and they seem not to be in a hurry to reply. It makes me question their commitment to stand behind the quality of their products. I plan to put a video up on YouTube Tube with a commentary of the above for all to see.

It is, however, important to ensure good ventilation and to place the furniture at a distance from the bathtub/shower to avoid splashes of water and soap residues on the furniture. Wipe the furniture dry if they are in a position to be splashed with water. This will ensure that the furniture retains its attractive appearance, and the risk of damage is minimized.

Top service and quality bathroom…

Top service and quality bathroom furnitures. We were multiple times in their Lyngby store. The personal is extremely kind, helpful, and explains everything to know for the right choice, you don’t even need to ask. Very service minded place. Beautiful and modern bathroom furnitures and accessories. Great inspirations. We were also lucky to purchase some of their showroom items and do some good savings as they were changing it for a new collection.

Do not order from Dansani

Do not order from Dansani! Awful customer service, we needed to return a mirror (completely unused, just turned out to be the wrong size for the room which we couldn't have known until the vanity units were in). They wanted to charge us 30% as a "restocking fee" plus £120 "freight" for a product they can sell again and isn't custom built. How is that justified?

Poor quality/ dangerous

We had a unit fitted including a glass sink around 2 years ago. The sink recently shattered spreading shards of glass. Dansani have refused to honour the guarantee on the basis the sink was not made of toughened glass and therefore the warranty is not applicable. The impact on the sink was soft and therefore the product was clearly faulty or dangerous. Their products are expensive so I would not expect them to be this fragile/dangerous and I would expect them to honour their guarantee.

I am sorry that you feels this way, as we take our warranties very serious. Unfortunately on this occasion the damage has been caused by something being dropped into the basin.

Tempered or toughened glass along with float glass will shatter if something hits this product at the “wrong impact”.
Tempered glass will shatter/implode into small pieces much like a car window for example, whereas float glass will shatter into bigger pieces.
Our glass basins are made of float glass which is normal and industry standard.
