10 of us celebrated my forthcoming birthday with afternoon tea. We were delighted with the quality of the food and the outstanding service. Quite a few of us had doggie bags to take home! Phenomenal, thank you so much Dartmoor Lodge.
Booked Christmas Day lunch to be seated at 15:00. Arrived at 14:50 to find reception packed with people waiting to be seated. Were finally seated at 15:30 and drinks order taken. 1st course arrived at approx. 16:00 and our drinks arrived after we had finished 1st course. Main course arrived after 17:00. Dessert arrived fairly quickly after main course cleared away. Coffee & Cheese (no promised truffles) arrived after 18:00. It was obvious that either the waiting and/or the kitchen staffing was inadequate for the number of diners booked. The food, when it finally arrived, was excellent.

Regarding the changeover and turnaround at 15:00, this is certainly something the team will review and approve well in advance of next Christmas to ensure a smoother experience.
We were delighted to receive very positive feedback from the majority of our 180 guests on the day, and this continues to motivate us moving forward.

I love this place, it's friendly comfortable, great value for money and always the best food.
I wouldn't stay anywhere else when I come to visit the family.
You replied to my post over two years later. I can assure you I wouldn't stay here any more. No atmosphere, shoddy management and lack of customer service means I would ever come back.

Exactly what you want for a comfortable, charming, friendly stay in a very handy location off the A38, perfect for our stop off on way to Plymouth ferry. We wanted something with comfortable accommodation ahead of sailing to Spain, and some good food. The hotel ticked all this and the dinner and breakfast were fabulous - a real set up for the journey. Quite surprised at the exceptional level of cuisine. We have actually booked for our return trip and know this will be a regular home from home for travel to and from Plymouth - thank you to all the staff who went out of their way to make us welcome and comfortable. What a fantastic place to stay
been travelling down to Cornwall for years and we accidently came across the Dartmoor Lodge hotel as we turned off for some fuel on the A38 after the sign for Ashburton where it said Motel service.
it had been a long drive down so we decided to check in.
warm, friendly place on arrival
super friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us.
rooms were basic but very clean and we had everything we needed
decided to try out there Restaurant and we can only give the food a 5 star rating.
I cannot actually think of a better place I have eaten in the past where the food was as good.
top marks to the Chef
A great stop off point between London and Cornwall.
will differently be going back soon.
