Purchase of imported Yamaha RD350
I spotted a Yamaha RD350 model that I was looking for on the DS Facebook page. Imported from the US. The price looked fair, with the option of a £600 supplement to have it commissioned On The Road, complete with MOT. This was an obvious option for me. I dealt with Matt and he looked after me from start to finish. The communication has been excellent. I visited on several occasions while the work was being completed and the workshop and Matt were extremely helpful and patient throughout. Even facilitating repainting at a neighbouring paint shop. Today the bike was delivered to me by Mr Silver himself. Overall a great stress free and enjoyable experience, with the reassurance that support is there if I have any issues. Thanks Matt and the team for the service.

I wont go into details, but I did have an issue with a part that I bought from them a while ago. As the part was so old, I am sure they didn't have to help me. However, their customer service representative (you know who you are !) went above and beyond in terms of help and I the issue was resolved. Thanks!

Very helpful is sourcing difficult to find parts, and then once ordered their service was exceptional-- order placed Friday morning, dispatched Friday afternoon, and received in Port Elizabeth, South Africa on the following Tuesday. Fantastic service!!

Useless delivery service
Why on earth do retailers use FedEx to deliver? I’ve been waiting almost 5 hours for a spares delivery with a 4 hour delivery slot (09:00-13:00), having had to take time off work to be here. The package has to be signed for in person, according to the FedEx despatch/tracking and this is allegedly specified by the sender. Now FedEx just changed the delivery time to,18:00!
I just cannot see the point in using such a useless and outdated courier when there are far more reliable services, with 2 hour delivery windows and excellent tracking.if a retailer uses a rubbish service to deliver goods, people will go elsewhere.
I doubt I’ll order from DSS again, tbh. I’ll just pay extra and buy from CMSNL and put the business to the Netherlands. I can’t go through this every time I need spares for my numerous bike projects.

David Silver Spares really is a high quality company. I have a 1981 Honda CB900f Supersport and I now go to this company for the parts I need that are often very difficult to locate. The prices are very competitive, the parts neatly packaged and arrive in good time. We'll done guys.

David Silver Spares. Not as reliable as I thought?
Ordered seat for Honda 400f. 1st one arrived with loose cover and lack of fixings to base. 2nd one was worse than 1st one. Again DSS agreed to replace but pictures of new seat held up at DSS and discussed this with staff. Found out they had problems with the quality of these seats but replacement looked good, eventually, from photos. However, left high and dry after weeks of waiting and wasted time, as David decided could not provide a suitable seat and refunded my payment and I was referred to Japan for a suitable replacement?

I had a great experience with the sales people. I am from South Africa I ordered the parts I needed opted for normal shipping. After 3 months had not received my parts, (due to the South African postal service being terrible). Contacted Nic and they offered to resend me the parts for free if I just paid the international shipping fee (something I would have done if I had had to reorder the parts anyway). I have just received my parcel a week and a half later. Very happy with their service and can highly recommend them.

I purchased a used motorcycle from silver spares in January 23. Initially the price was 1750 bought as seen with no warranty which I excepted. I left it a week or so until getting back in touch and was told that their mechanic had it stripped on the bench to get it running right. As part of my purchase I hadn't agreed to this but knew the repairs would save me time. £450 I paid 2200 for the bike. 20 miles in and I started to notice oil leaks. Around rocker cover and head gasket. When I asked if they would look at it as a token gesture they refused because I'd bought as see with no warranty. I asked if they had used new gaskets they assured me they had. I now have the engine at a local garage, its been stripped down because both rocker and head gaskets have failed. I'm now incurring these costs which I don't think is fair. Sorry 1 star. If there was an option for no star's then that's what they would be getting. I love the bike but after sales sucks.

Been using these for many years
Been using these for many years. Very helpful knowledgeable staff. Bought a few things for bikes like Honda SS125A Honda C50 which some items are in UK, other items come from their supplies abroad (USA). Ive visited the shop a few times and even been in the Museum too which is worth a look around.
Most of my orders are done via online and may include emailing them. They reply quickly to emails, so one can progress to placing an order quickly.
The only thing they dont seem to have online is microfiche, so sometimes i may go to another site to obtain the part number to then type it in on David Silver Spares, to see if it can be ordered- outside of their business hours. During their opening hours one can contact them via email or phone .

Super Service , Spoke to Mark on the phone , emailed parts diagram to sort the correct part out for my VF carbs , emailed price back and arrived two days later . pleasure to deal with
Good availability, slow despatch
Decent spares availability but very slow in getting parts out . I ordered a part and wasn't told it wasn't in stock so I've had to wait . Blamed royal mail strikes for delay but hasn't been a strike for a few weeks . This is the second time I've had slow despatch of parts ,and so I think in future I'll make Silvers my second port of call for my Honda parts , if I can't get them elsewhere.

The staff at David Silver were great…
The staff at David Silver were great except the management who are totally disengaged from the customer, and the impact their choice of shipping company has on customers and their staff, it was very plain its all about the money and if your delivery is disastrous its tough ,let the office staff take the crap.
They use Fedex who are a shower of lying sxxt bags with a quality of staff who should at best be flipping burgers, dont waste any time complaining.
I wont use them again I would rather a pay extra shipping through CSMNL it was a total disappointment due to their carrier 3days wasted I feel for Silvers sales staff , the company should consider the mental health impact but they wont
