Exemplary!

From booking the service through to getting the car back early, as requested, I could fault nothing. This dealership offers excellent customer service at every point. They charged exactly what they said they would, looked into a couple of extra concerns, lent me a car, listened when I said that ideally I needed our car back at a certain time and were courteous throughout. This company shows how businesses should be run!

Excellent service all round!
Special mention must go to: Carl Stephenson in demonstrating / sales - great service, answering all my questions and finding me the perfect car. Then Anne Hunter in the Service department who showed excellent customer service with my first 'teething issue' last month. Really can't fault the service offered whatsoever.

Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service, we dealt with Carl Stephenson he was very helpful, thorough and took the time necessary to explain everything we needed to know. I’d have no hesitation in recommending Des Winks (Scarborough).

Brilliant

We have had our VW Polo serviced by Des Winks for the past 5 years, the service and attention to detail have always been superb, nothing is too much trouble. The staff are so welcoming it is a pleasure to come here. Thank you so much to all the staff, I would definitely recommend this garage

Tried to look at the all electric…

Tried to look at the all electric vehicles, but after drifting around the dealership for an uncomfortably long time, ignored by all staff - particularly big shout out to Robin, hope you've got all of your texting done now, must have been really important I guess that's VW off my shopping list now, such a shame as we've been a very long time loyal VW driver family. My next email is to Blakelands.

We enjoyed another 5***** experience at Des Winks last Friday whilst our VW Tiguan was having its first service….. such amazing customer service from staff who we cannot praise enough…… Robin, Matt and Jodie, who are certainly a credit to the firm!

Excellent Service

Booked my Kodiaq in for its first service since I bought it (secondhand and a private purchase).

Firstly, they tell me I have a service plan and the service is free. Secondly, they phone me to remind me a day before the appointment.

Service completed, no cost. A couple of advisories from the health check for me to ponder over.

Efficient, friendly, honest. Everything that I need from a dealership.

I took my car for engine management…

I took my car for engine management light problem today which had been booked in for weeks. All was good dropping off getting courtesy car etc guy was good..Then a few hours later I got a call in relation to the problem from customer service team.The person started off by we've found the problem and have you had your car serviced recently ..Yes I replied well your mechanic has left a lead loose and this is the problem.I tried cutting him off by saying I had my car serviced on Monday and the light has been on for a few weeks..so a blame culture, then he says under warranty its not covered and its £60..All the time I was trying to explain he had a clever cocky arrogant attitude .He then said do you want us to put the lead back on or not..What kind of a question and attitude is that to a customer..The man was so up his own backend it was unreal...All the time my father was listening to the phone conversation in the car..Worse thing is he was going to buy a new skoda from them today but said sod em ill go elsewhere..So then I arrived to pick the car up and saw a nice lady on the desk I said I would like to mention about the way I was spoken to on the phone by a rude ill mannered individual..Low and behold he was sat next to her and said that was me continuing where he left off with his arrogant Ill mannered nature..I told him how dare he accuse my mechanic of causing the problem and that the light had been on weeks..He then hunched his shoulders trying to intimidate me and continued talking down to me with that I said I work with high risk prisoners and they don't speak to me like you so learn some manners..To be honest the other staff were good but him he needs to be trained in working with people and learn basic manners also be very mindful of his body language as its not good..A shame for my dad as he really wanted to buy a 30 grand car today but said can't deal with people like him..I've spoken on the phone to this guy before and always thought he had an edge in his manner...Anyway if the light comes back on it will be back there and then....A disappointed customer

poor customer service /service staff

Bought a brand new top of range Karoq from Deswinks. Had several issues with flat batteries - customer service from service team poor - dont know the word Sorry - never apologies and instead try to blame me every time, which just adds to the frustration of this unreliable car. Now to top it off - no notification /reminder from garage that MOT due! #poorcustomerservice from servicestaff

Bad experience 10 years ago, no improvement

Have been test driving possible new cars over the past week with VW being the last one. Had solo test drives with BMW, Volvo, Mazda, Tesla without a single problem. Booked a test drive the following day with Des Winks which was a 10 mile round trip, when I arrived the car I had arranged to drive had been sold ‘which happens fair enough’ but there was no attempt to contact me to let me know. Sales said they had tried to ring me but I strangely had no missed calls on my phone. I was then offered a test drive in a different car with the salesman sat in the back??? Needless to say I shall not be purchasing a car from Des Winks anytime soon.

Poor Customer Service

Bought a new car from them two years ago. Within a few weeks several things went wrong with the car meaning that I was given a courtesy car several times as they tried to fix the car, each time they said it was fixed it broke down again. Eventually it was repaired and fixed. More recently I had booked my car in for it's service and found that the garage was shut when I turned up for the service. I hadn't been informed, contacted or asked to reschedule the service. Although apologetic I was informed that I was the only customer who hadn't been contacted of the closure, not helpful. The customer service and aftercare provision is not upto standard and infact is appalling.

Literally the easiest and best vehicle purchase experience ever!

I initially went in with my mum as she was in need of a new car. Having no idea about the current range VW had on offer and after multiple test drives in different vehicles, nothing was too much trouble for our salesman Paul. We duly sat down to work through some figures, expecting the typical hard sell of the salesman having to run back and forth to his managers office to come to a deal. Refreshingly everything was completed and we were left happy without him having to leave his desk once. The openness and transparency was a refreshing change to the usual stressful experience of buying a new car, so much so that I also upgraded my own car with Des Winks!

I've had to go back once as one of the interior lights was not working on my car, the service team were just as helpful, booking me in when requested and nothing was too much trouble. I'll definitely be getting my next car from Des Winks VW.

GOING THE EXTRA MILE TO KEEP ME MOBILE

My lease car needed an MOT on a Friday and I was provided with a courtesy car. It duly failed the MOT because of a damaged tyre and had to be kept at the garage until a new one could be sourced and fitted which would not be before Monday PM. The courtesy car was required by Winks for another customer on Monday, but because it wasn’t in my contract, my lease company wouldn’t give me a hire car. Laura at the service department had a word with her boss and they let me keep the courtesy car until mine was ready and hired in a car for the Monday customer. MY MOT COST THEM MONEY, but, even though it wasn’t their problem, they still went above and beyond to keep me mobile. Absolutely fantastic service guys, I'd recommend you to anyone.
