Fake products at Dillards

I would’ve given this review zero but for obvious reasons I couldn’t. I received inauthentic Jo Malone product. I’ve used Jo Malone sage & sea salt cologne for years.This one was different and they would not acknowledge it or allow me to return the item. The text was different, the label was different and the scent honestly barely lasted 5 minutes which is unheard of for this perfume maker. I normally don’t purchase from Dillards but was purchasing a gift and was out of that particular item and added to my cart. They’re selling fake perfumes y’all beware!

ordered online

ordered online, received wrong item. They wont refund you back or apologize for their error, I had to file a claim with my bank. Rude customer service, especially manager. Please be aware, avoid at all cost

Would never shop here again

Would never shop here again. Atrocious customer service, they are not helpful with returns. I used a gift card that was given to me and purchased two pairs of sandals totaling $180. I kept one pair of $90 sandals, used $50 gift card/AMEX. They refuse to refund AMEX fully and keep re-issuing a gift card. I do not ever want to shop at Dillards again and most certainly do not want another gift card

Horrible experience

Horrible experience! I recently purchased a Doona stroller in the color blush pink for my sister in laws first baby. She specifically asked for this stroller since it’s a 2 in 1 stroller and car seat. After purchasing the stroller and already been delivered to my home, my sister in law decided she wanted another stroller, one that will grow with her baby which the doona stroller is only for a short period of time and eventually she will need a new one. Even though my sister in law asked for the Doona stroller, the package was waiting to be gifted on the day of her baby shower which clearly it was not for me to open. Since the return policy mentioned the item needs to be unopened and be return in the first 30 days, my return meet all the requirements. When I went to the nearest USPS office to ship it back, my package was in mint condition and never been opened. I received an email confirming my package had been delivered to the store and was waiting to get inspected. A couple days passed and i couldn’t understand why I haven’t received my refund. On July 29, as I was walking out of my home, there was a Doona stroller package that had been delivered and I was confused on why I had a package on my doorstep. I looked through my emails to see if by mistake I was sent another one but I couldn’t find anything. One of the main reasons why I thought I was sent another stroller by mistake was because the box was poorly damaged. It was not the same box I sent back to be returned. I called customer service and they confirmed that my package was returned back to me because “the package had been opened and it was not in it’s original packaging” so she said. I could not believe what I was hearing, I was baffled. I honestly had no intention opening a package that clearly was not mine to open, remind you it was a baby shower gift. I tried explaining many times to the lady that I never opened that box whatsoever, I was so upset and angry. I also explained to her it might of been altered when it was getting shipped back to them which I had no control over that. She still did not want to reason with me and continue to say she understood and there’s nothing she can do. Clearly she does not understand how overwhelming it is to be in that situation, how frustrating it is to know that you’re telling the truth and they don’t believe you. I will never buy another thing from Dillard’s and I will always take pictures of my packages when I am returning them because clearly I am being accused of opening a box that has never been opened all because USPS or whoever the person was who handled my package were not careful and damaged it!

Dont listen to other people

all the bad reviews are people complaining that they couldn't return used clothes or clothes they bought passed the 30 days limit.. I am a little confused because most stores enforce the same policies and rules.
I haven't had a issue with my order. Would recommend

I Horrible Customer Service and Return Policy!!!!!!

I have been shopping at Dillards for most all of my clothes for over 20 years and I have spent thousands of dollars during that time. I just spent $444.14 on May 27, 2024. On Thursday July 18th the button popped off on a pair of capris jeans that I just bought. I had the receipt so I travelled to a local Dillards store and tried replacing or returning them. The customer service representative kept informing me that they could not accept the defective jeans because I did not have the original tags, they had been worn and washed. I did not accept that so she contacted a manager to speak with me. The manager basically stated the same information. I kept explaining to the manager that I would not be returning the jeans if the button did not pop off in less than 2 months of owning them. It did not matter. She recommended I contact the manufacturer but I should not have to do that. They should stand behind the products that they buy to sell to consumers. Especially since they are very expensive!
So, I need everyone that reads this to really think about Dillards return policy,
1. They give you 30 days to return the item.
2. If within that 30 days you threw away the tags, worn or washed the item you cannot return that item.
3. EVEN if the item is defective, not due to your negligence just the item being defective, they still will not accept the return if the item does not have the tags, has been worn or washed.
I did not cause the button to pop off, I was just buttoning up the jeans. I planned on keeping the jeans, I was forced to return them because the button could not be put back on. All I wanted was a replacement.
I will NEVER EVER shop at any Dillards stores anywhere!!!!!!!!!!!! Their return policy is set up for their benefit not the customers.
HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! customer service!!!!

Ordered a bridesmaids dress online

Ordered a bridesmaids dress online. My order arrived with a completely different dress, wrong size and no packing slip. Called to voice my problem “we will email you with what steps you need to take.” Two days without an email I made another call. “I’m sorry ma’am we’re sold out of that dress.” Dillards: if you want to be competitive with the online shopping market pull your head’s out and step it up!

Got there right when they opened.
I found what I wanted, took me 20 minutes.
I couldn’t find one person to help me to purchase item’s.
Finally found an employee from another dept to help me.

If you need a perfume don’t purchase it at Dillard’s Shops!

I made an in-store purchase at Dillard’s Shops of an expensive perfume. After using it a few times I found I got a reaction (itching). I took it back to the store with receipt +box and was told since the box was open I couldn’t return it though I hadn’t used much of it. The following day I called customer service while out on the road and was asked for the receipt #. Since I didn’t have it on hand I said I’d call back later in the day. When I did so I was placed on hold then told there was nothing they could do since the box was already open. I have purchased cosmetics from department stores, tried them then returned, no questions asked and given my refund. I will never patronize this store again! This is why companies like Amazon are taking over—— and folks avoid the hassle of in-store shopping!

Horrible policies and service!! Don’t shop at Dillard if the Lee is any chance you need to return! Ordered a dress for my wedding. Didn’t get it until day before I was leaving for destination wedding then went away for three weeks honeymoon. Didn’t take the dress; quality was lacking. Upon return Dillards would not let me return- it was 2 days past 30 day purchase date. Mind you that I didn’t get it for week after purchase which meant I had FAR LESS than 30 days to return. They do not care. STICK WITH NORDSTROM OR ANYONE BUT DILLARDS! They don’t care that they don’t give you even the 30 days from receipt! Poorly run company. So today I “eat” $350 for an unused dress!

Customer service is TERRIBLE!

I finally found the slippers my granddaughter was asking for for her birthday on Dillards. I was so excited that I ordered them right away in her usual size. But when she tried them on they were a bit too small. I was 2 days over the 30 day return (which is from date of purchase - really should be from date you receive the item.) They would not even issue me a credit for $80 slippers that are useless b/c they are too small. My granddaughter is disappointed to say the least and I will NEVER shop at Dillards! I was not asking for anything unreasonable. Terrible way to do business, Dillard's!

Dillards has an awful return policy

Dillards has an awful return policy. I ordered a dresses on 4/6 and I didn't get the one dress until 4/16 and I returned the dress on 5/13. They sent the dresses back to me because it wasn't in the 30 days even though I didn't get the dress until 4/16!!! They won't give me any credit to the store or anything!! I am sitting here with 2 dresses I do not need costing up $250..

Won’t honor sales prices from other store

I was looking to buy a purse I saw at a sale price online but wanted to check it out first in person to see if it would work for me. Dillards had it so I went to look at it. The salesperson came over and I asked if she would honor the sale price (almost $100 difference) and she said no. Then she asked if I still wanted it and I said nope and I’ll just go online and order it from the other store.

Ordered uggs from Dillard and they were too small for my granddaughter. Dillard would not take them back because it was over thirty days and I ordered them online which I tried to return and it wouldn’t bring me to the return site. Thank god Ugg site took them back I just wanted a different size. I will never order from Dillards again.

profiling gone wrong

I am writing to express my disappointment with the level of customer service I experienced during my recent visit to your store. As a loyal customer, I have always appreciated the products and services offered at your establishment, but unfortunately, my most recent encounter has left me deeply dissatisfied.

During my visit on 03/25/2024, I felt extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome due to the behavior of two of your staff members. I noticed that I was being followed closely throughout the store, as if I were suspected of shoplifting. This made me feel targeted and humiliated, especially considering that I have never given any reason to be treated in such a manner.

Being followed in a store is not only unacceptable but also goes against the principles of good customer service. It is important for customers to feel respected and valued, regardless of their background or appearance. This incident has not only tarnished my perception of your store but also left me hesitant to return in the future.

I believe that every customer deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and I urge you to take appropriate action to ensure that such incidents do not occur again in the future. This may involve providing additional training to your staff members on how to interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner.

I hope that you will take my complaint seriously and address the issue promptly. As a long-time customer, I would like to see improvements in the level of customer service at your store so that others do not have to experience the same discomfort that I did.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you soon and to seeing positive changes implemented at your store.

Deplorable customer support

I would give them a zero rating if that were possible. I wanted to buy $139 pair of jeans online because they did not have my size in the store. When I had them in the cart, I proceeded to the payment screen and it said if I applied for a Dillard's card, I would get 10% off. I applied for the card and the message said they would notify me within a couple of days. I thought that was odd because normally they approve you within a couple of minutes and you can use the account immediately. I did not receive anything that day via email or a temporary account on the application screen. The next day I called customer service and they said they could not help me order the jeans, I had to wait until the physical card arrived in the mail. I received the card today and once again tried to order the jeans but it would not give me the 10% discount. I called customer service again and the man explained to me that that I would have needed to order them the day I was approved to get the discount. I explained that I tried to do but did not have an account number and even customer service could not do it for me as I stated above. I asked to speak to a manager. The manager told me there is no way to give me the 10% off that I was promised when I applied. I have an 850 credit score and I told the manager if she cannot help me, to close my account.

Ordered 527 Levi’s in 100% cotton…

Ordered 527 Levi’s in 100% cotton because Dillard showed them as in stock on their website. If you are looking for 100% cotton without elastane do not order from Dillards. They will substitute jeans with elastane without notifying the customer.
