I had one of the worst experiences with…

I had one of the worst experiences with this workshop.

I originally called to get the brake pads on my van changed. A mechanic named Hakaan asked me to visit the workshop so he could check both the pads and discs. After inspection, he recommended changing the front brake pads and the rear pads and discs. We agreed on a total price of 4100 DKK and set a time for the same day.

When I returned at the agreed time, I still had to wait 45 minutes before my van was even taken inside. On top of that, Hakaan only changed the front brake pads, didn’t finish the rest of the work, and still charged me 2130 DKK (more than half of the agreed amount). He told me to come back the next day, but because of my schedule, I couldn’t.

The following week, I booked another appointment for Friday, 29 August 2025, at 1:00 pm. I arrived early at 12:45 pm but waited another 30 minutes with no updates. When I asked Hakaan how long it would take, he ignored me twice. I explained I needed the car finished by 2:00 pm, but it was already 1:30pm and I had to give him the key and leave and he promised it would be done in 1 hour and 30 minutes.

When I came back after that time, my van was still sitting outside untouched. Once again, Hakaan gave me no clear response. I asked for a partial refund—just deducting the cost of the front brake pads—but he refused, giving more excuses. He then said he could start the work immediately, but even after waiting another 20 minutes, nothing happened.

In the end, I wasted more than two hours, still had unfinished work, and never got my money back.

1. About the first appointment:

I called at around 10:00 AM, was asked to come so the brakes could be checked, and after inspection the mechanic suggested replacing front brake pads and rear pads + discs.

We mutually agreed that I would return at 2:00 PM after the parts arrived. I actually arrived at 1:50 PM (10 minutes early, which can be confirmed by your cameras).

I waited 45–60 minutes before my van was taken inside, and by then it was around 3:00 PM. The mechanic changed only the front brake pads (took ~40 minutes), charged me 2,130 DKK out of the total 4,130 DKK, and told me to return the next day. By rule, I should have only been charged for the work actually done.

2. About the second appointment:

I called on Thursday and booked Friday at 1:00 PM. I arrived 12:45 and waited for about an hour.

Contrary to your reply, there was no van occupying the lift that day – there were only cars, and the van lift was free most of the time (again, camera footage can confirm this).

Around 1:45 PM, I told the mechanic I had to step out for 1.5 hours, and he confirmed the work would be done when I returned. But when I came back, my van was still untouched.

At this point, the mechanics argued between themselves for 20–30 minutes in their own language instead of working on my van.

I asked for a refund minus the work done, but the mechanic said he couldn’t do that and suggested he could still start the work. I waited another 30 minutes and nothing was done, so I finally asked for my keys back and left.

3. Main issue:

My frustration is not with delays alone, but with the lack of professionalism, poor communication, and charging me for more than the work completed.

Suggesting I “insisted” on immediate service or that another van blocked the lift is simply untrue and can be disproved by camera records.

I am still open to a fair resolution, but customers deserve to know exactly what happened.

We have been in dialogue with the workshop, which informs us of the following:
It is correct that you had to wait a little, but it was close to the end of the working day, and you arrived almost two hours later than the agreed time. You did not return the following day but later contacted the workshop wishing to have the remaining work completed.

At your second appointment, all lifts were fully occupied. The lift normally used for vans was occupied by another van that had been booked in before yours, and an unexpected issue occurred with that van, preventing it from being removed from the lift. This meant your van could not be serviced immediately. The mechanic explained the situation and suggested rescheduling, but you insisted that the work be carried out right away.

When you returned, you requested your keys and a refund for the initial work. The mechanic explained that the full amount could not be refunded because the front brake pads had already been replaced. The workshop also informs us that only the workshop owner has access to the accounts and can authorize a partial refund, and you were therefore offered the option to return the following day when the owner would be present.

The workshop regrets that your experience was frustrating and emphasizes that all completed work was carried out professionally under the circumstances. You are of course welcome to contact the workshop again so that a suitable solution can be found together at info@dinbilpartnerglostrup.dk
