A mixed review

The good: the overall kit quality for the pocket door we ordered was fine.

The bad:

- The metal frame for the door had been assembled before - in our opinion, the frame was a repacked return. You could see scratches in the frame groves where the cross members get slotted in. The packaging looked like it had been repacked.
- Some of the profiles from the main frame were bent. This could very well have happened during transport, as the pack was quite long and could have been stepped on during shipment. T&C say you get 48 hours to notify them with any issues, but that's really too short during most site work.
- Paper assembly instructions (with a helpful QR code leading to a YouTube tutorial) were included for the metal frame. Not so for the wood door and surround trims. Company later explained to us that "everything was on the company website". If it is, please save us the guesswork by supplying a simple QR code or a link to the relevant part of the website.
- It is only after a long email ping pong that customer service agreed that a poorly repacked kit was not a good standard.

So we got there in the end, but feeling like we had to extract every info from the company and feeling a bit left to fend for ourselves. Install was carried out by serious professional joiners.

Please can I address a few points that you have made.

1. These cassettes are manufactured in Italy and packaged so there is no way they have been assembled before.
2. The cross sections are made from thin metal and if any damages you can contact us and we will sort out for you, if it falls out with the 48 hours, we are still flexible depending on the time limit.
3. We have pdfs and videos on each product, and I will respect your feedback on this and see if our web team could possibly fit all in to QR codes.

Finally, I am sorry you felt that your carpenters were left to fend for themselves but these pockets are one of our most popular products and sell over 350 per month without having this feedback before but I respect your opinions and will look to see how we can later better with regards to QR code to you tube.

Absolutely brilliant service received from Scott
Was unable to open my automatic garage door late this afternoon
Contacted Scott who without hesitation came to my rescue early evening
He was friendly and courteous and fixed the problem efficiently
Highly recommend him

Do NOT use this company

Simply awful service. Their website is misleading and the after sales service is one of the worst I have experienced. No accountability and frankly rude and dismissive. I wish we had read reviews before ordering.

Terrible after sales customer service

As an honest human being I share with you NOT to buy from Direct Doors if as most people you expect a good customer service. They have an answer to challenge anything you raise as unsatisfactory rather than ensure their customers are fully satisfied. £1300 sliding doors purchased with instructions a competent carpenter struggled to understand. Damage to door not opened within their specified time limit - no leniency, Pelmet shorter than thick metal track it’s meant to cover - expect you to cut the metal track. Pelmet front doesn’t cover the track, flush handles you are meant to router these into the door fronts risking the veneer chipping…where does it stop.

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. You will know that it was myself who dealt with the concerns raised and I think it best to go through your review in bullet point form.

• We sell over 300 of these systems each month without any issue or complaints about the instructions provided. It is clearly stated in the fitting instructions to cut the track which after further investigation, we discovered had not been done.
• The doors were delivered and signed for in good condition back on the 15th of September. At no point were informed of any damage until you contacted us on Monday regarding fitting instructions. All goods must be checked upon or within 24-48 hours of delivery and any issues reported to us immediately however, the goods were not checked, and they were then fitted therefore, there is nothing we could do in this instance as working on / fitting the goods deems them as accepted.
• I provide all dimensions of each individual timber section for the pelmet, and you confirmed that all dimensions were correct. We do not router out grooves for any handles as they are optional. We offer different handle styles but also, as the customer you can source your own handles elsewhere so, any grooves is to be done on site by your joiner or carpenter.

Great Company, Great Product and Good Price

I needed to replace a pair of old, large sliding wardrobe doors. I contacted Doors Direct. They were very helpful, responsive and extremely knowledgeable. I ordered the doors on line and they were delivered (to Aberdeen) exactly when expected. The driver and I offloaded them and I fitted them inside 2 hours. (I'm a keen DIY'er). The doors are good quality, look lovely, work perfectly and were a sensible price. I would definitely use Doors Direct again and would recommend them to others

excellent service

very helpful when phoned regards door sizes, ordered online and they phoned me to double check my hinge order as I had ordered extra for previously fitted doors and was changing old hinges. Doors ordered on a Friday afternoon and delivered the following Thursday. That alone is five stars from me.

BEWARE ‘PART DELIVERIES’ = LONG DELAYS & EXTRA EXPENSE

Online order confirmed and delivery scheduled efficiently but that is where the customer service ended. The T’s & C’s do state that orders can be sent in separate deliveries but when the delivery is scheduled they do not advise that it is a ‘part delivery’, nor is this indicated on the dispatch document. Our glazed room divider was delivered with just the two doors, no frame and no side panel, plus no accessories. In our absence, the carpenters were there to take delivery but could not do the job and had to be laid off, meaning extra expense to us and delays. 2 weeks later we are still waiting for the remaining items, and Direct Doors are ‘hiding behind their T’s & C’s. All that needed to happen was to say up-front that the delivery was 1 of 2.

Big fan of Direct Doors

Big fan of Direct Doors. We are slowly renovating our home and replacing the original doors with Direct Doors as we go. We have installed two pocket door systems (1 x double, 1 x single) and have used their Shaker doors some with glass and some with solid panes in the middle. The product has arrived on time, and in good shape and communication has been great. The website is clear and easy to navigate. I would recommend this company.

Great Quality

The door and sliding mechanism that I bought were both great quality and just what I needed. They were delivered on time and with no issues. My only issue was that the fitting instructions were a bit hard to understand but fortunately i hired a professional to fit it for me.

' Fantastic door handles '
Great service and great (well packed) door handles. Was worried they were so much more expensive compared to our local DIY chain but they had what we needed so went for it. The handles are a million times better than the cheap ones. We’ve since placed another order to change all our door handles as they now make the other ones look rubbish I messed up the second order and emailed them to correct it. They even emailed me back on a bank holiday. Great customer service
