I couldn't be happier with my purchase
I couldn't be happier with my purchase! This shop had the best price I could find, not only for the racket but also for the premium stringing service.
The customer service went above and beyond. They included a free high quality overgrip and a premium racket cover, stencilled the strings for free, and had everything perfectly prepared before dispatch.
The racket was shipped the very next day by priority delivery and arrived exceptionally well packaged, so it was in perfect condition.
It's rare to find a retailer that combines the lowest prices with such generous extras and excellent service. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for tennis equipment. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Expensive racket with custom re-string didn't even last a few days
Update after response from DirectSports:
I've been playing racket sports for many may years, have bought many rackets in the past and am well aware of industry standards!
A relatively cheaper, off the shelf racket generally lasts for many months and therefore in the case of an expensive racket (3 digit price) with custom restring, it is reasonable to assume that it would have some degree of durability.
Direct sports sold me a cheap build racket at a premium price which fell apart within a few days, not years, not months, not weeks, but days!
My exact words on the email to them (before giving them a 1 star rating) were "is there something you can do to make it right" and Direct Sports didn't even have the decency to admit their mistake or apologies for their lack of workmanship.
It's a shame to see that DirectSports are trying to put a spin on this whole thing and are still not willing to admit that they made a mistake and sold a poor quality product.
Original feedback:
I bought an expensive racket with custom re-string from them, first purchase ever and what a mistake.
The string broke within a few days, I appreciate that these are considered consumables and would wear off over time, but an expensive racket with custom re-string is not supposed to break apart within a few days of purchase, especially when one has not had any accidents with the racket.
I reached out to directsports and filed a complaint and they simply snubbed me off.
This has left a bad taste and my suggestion to everyone would be to avoid this company.

Much better than the shops
I regularly use Direct Sport for tennis shoes, the soles of which wear out fairly quickly. This is only my second pair of running shoes, again Adidas, and I’m really pleased with all aspects. The fit is perfect which is where I normally struggle, having wide feet. The UK size 9.5 is very comfortable. like the last pair they have Continental Tyres made soles so I expect they will last a good while.
As always, delivery was prompt.
I don’t do that much running and mainly use these for summer trail walking and gym work. I did break my self imposed rule of never spending more than £65 on sports shoes but I think, in this case it’s worth it. The last pair lasted several years,

Misleading listing, inflated postage, and no willingness to help
Ordered the Karakal grip, listed as "Assorted" with an image showing all six colours and no prompt to pick one, so I expected the range shown. Instead I got a single random grip, then got pointed to a line buried in the description. Made to feel like a fool for reading the listing the way anyone would.
But here's what really stings: a £3.65 grip cost me £8.60 after £4.95 postage - the postage alone costs more than the item and then they charge a £3.99 fee just to return it. In an era where every online retailer offers easy, free returns, this is the first I've come across that actually charges you extra to send something back. You're trapped with whatever lands on your doormat.
I asked for a refund twice and got the same copy-paste reply both times before being told the matter was "closed." No flexibility, no goodwill, no interest in making it right.
I buy racket accessories all the time and have plenty of friends who do too - not one of us will be ordering from here again. Avoid.

They ship the wrong field hockey stick…
They ship the wrong field hockey stick and they do not bear any resposibility. They ask me to ship it back paying shipment, and claim customs myself, si they ahip wrongly they will not respond and will not fix their mistake. They will treat the incident as a return, not as a mistake they need to resolve. Cost of stick 400€! If you are International customer do not buy from them, as they are not responible for their Internatinal customers.

Great shoes, excellent price but a little small
After much searching, I found the right shoes and the right size at an excellent price on Direct Sports site. Completing the order was straightforward and delivery charge, unlike many others, was very fair. Delivery was bang on time. The box was in the standard polythene bag so it was a little beat up but the shoes were pristine. However, as was highlighted on their site, Yonex shoes tun small and, despite ordering a half size up, they were too small and too narrow. I've had many Yonex shoes for badminton and they really are good, but next time, I'll remember to order the 'W' (wide) and a full size up.
I'd also ordered some activated charcoal odour stopping sachets but was disappointed to learn I hadn't read the detail and, instead of several pairs I got one pair of sachets.
The return process was easy - they provided a label - and the refund came quickly.

COMPLETE SCAM - AVOID
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
Ordered a squash racket. Played 3 shots in my first game and the strings snapped. Contacted company who said ‘strings are considered consumable items and are not covered under warranty.’
So to sum up, I bought a defective product for £40 and now have to pay another £40 for a restring.
Total scam - company literally showed zero empathy when I complained over the phone and their attitude is just a huge FU.
EDIT FOLLOWING THE COMPANY’S RESPONSE BELOW:
For me, this still feels like a complete scam.
Yes, the racket itself was £32.95. With delivery, I paid just shy of £40. I’m not sure why the company thinks correcting me by a few pounds makes the experience any better.
Their comments about the “lifespan” of the strings are, frankly, laughable. The racket was delivered to my house on Sunday 28 June. I took it out of the packaging, put it in a protective sleeve, and first used it on Tuesday morning. The strings broke after THREE SHOTS. Not three games. Not three months. Three shots.
I am not an expert player smashing the ball at professional speeds. I’m a middle-aged dad who plays squash once a week with another local dad.
The company has now suggested that this could be due to “storage, age of the strings, playing style, mishits and tension”. But I had owned the racket for less than 48 hours before using it. I have absolutely no idea how old the strings were, how the racket was stored before it reached me, or what condition the strings were in when it was sold. The company does. Yet somehow every possible explanation is apparently my problem, and none of them is theirs.
Imagine buying a new pair of shoes, taking three steps and the sole falling off, only to be told that soles are “consumable items”, the shoes were cheap anyway, and perhaps it was caused by your walking style. That is genuinely how absurd this feels to me.
The most extraordinary part of their response is the statement that the £32.95 price “would also reflect the quality and capabilities of the racket”. In other words, their defence appears to be that I should not expect too much from a racket they sold me because it only cost £32.95.
I did not expect a professional-quality racket. I did expect it to survive more than three shots.
The company did not offer to inspect the racket. They did not ask me to return it so they could establish why the strings failed almost immediately. They did not offer a replacement, refund or complimentary restring. Their solution was that I should pay to have a virtually brand-new racket restrung.
People can read their response and make up their own minds. I have made up mine.
I will never buy from Direct Sports again.

I purchased a pair of trainers from another website and they contacted me after the delivery date to say they were out of stock and refunded me. Found this website offering the same price and trainers. They delivered the trainers on the promised day. Very simple and recommended procedure.

Wide range of sporting equipment
I found this shop online whilst searching for wide fit tennis shoes. I bought a pair of Babolat shoes and a tennis bag. Both were competitively priced. Items arrived in good time. Good communication confirming order and despatch. I would recommend this shop.

Poor customer service and website
Poor customer service and website
Supplied unstrung racket and argued that this would have be clear from choice at checkout to not restring. And that images on product page are purely illustrative and may not reflect the specification of the exact product supplied!
But that option is misleading. The choice should be to supply unstrung, or do not string.
Restring implies replacing something that is already there to change!

Easy transaction, reasonably priced
Ordering and communication all straight forward. Competitive pricing. Delivery is extra but made clear. Good range. I ordered 4 rackets for decision to be made for 1, returning the other 3. For delivery used option to 3rd party store, for easy pickup. Arrived within stated time. Had a question, contact to CS was easy, used phone call option. For the return, used the reduced charge return option. All was straight forward. If remain competitively priced, will use again.
