I started studying with distancelearningcentre.com a few months ago and my tutor Jo was excellent and supportive. She spent over three times the scheduled call time speaking with me as I had some technical difficulties and hadn’t been in education for a long time.
She gave very good guidance, especially when it came to pacing myself for my assignment deadlines. I started in November but I still managed to catch up.

Unfortunately, I had not researched the student finance legislation properly, and had to discontinue my studies because I had not been resident in the UK for three continuous years before the start date of a university course for some years in the future, and would not be able to receive the financial aid that I needed as a result.

When I emailed student services, requesting suspending or leaving my course, I got a very swift reply from Jane the Progression Manager, who informed me that my Course Status had been changed from Active to Finished very quickly, and gave me a lot of other guidance if I did wish to return to my studies, which was easily possible.

In addition, I very promptly received a full refund of all the money I had stored in my student account to pay for my fees!

I am forever grateful for all the support I received from the staff at distancelearningcentre.com. I hope that every student realises their dreams with such excellent support!

Amazing tutors who are always available when I needed help and are extremely knowledgeable. The study materials are easy to access and to understand. I feel more prepared to step back into education from my studies.

Studying with distancelearningcentre has been a pleasure. I never thought I'd be able to go back into education due to a drastic decline in my mental health, and even when starting my course I had feelings of uncertainty; however, this course provider has completely changed my perspective. The structure of the course has allowed me to familiarise myself with the key components of academic writing, especially with the feedback given from tutors. I've finished the psychology side of the diploma which I enjoyed, especially being a new subject to me and being able to explore interesting topics; additionally, I'd like to thank my psychology tutor in aiding me with psychology as well as my university application. They have definitely reassured me through the stress of the process. I'm currently studying biology and although I have just started, I'm certain that I will also enjoy it due to my biology tutor providing me a detailed insight into this section of the course.

I’m rating my experience a 4 star, and 1 for me as the student. Because, honestly at first with the SAQs, it was so easy, never knew what was coming for me with theTQA. It was a bit tough for me because l've never studied online, so everything felt awkward and confusing for me. But now I’m loving it, all thanks to this lovely tutor who was so patient enough to guide me through my first process, and not telling me off.

Really great tutor, helpful, kind and supportive. Made me thoroughly enjoy doing the course.

The enrolment process was smooth and quicker than I expected. I started learning within two days and the induction process was also very good.

The tutor generally gets back to you the same day, but the course is heavily reliant on the individual. You have to put in the work to succeed.

Perhaps it is a bit to early to write a review because I'm only in my second month with them but so far so good. I enjoy my science course, tutors are helpful and all the materials for self study are well designed, allowing me to learn and understand topics.

My tutor is easily available and willing to answer any questions promptly and directly.

I have find the course really challenging considering how many paper work needs to completed.
I was thinking that is just one or two asessments per unit.

The course is very self taught. Just read through and answer questions. Also what they provide you to learn from has a lot of spelling mistakes.

I had a great experience and a lot of support and guidance from my tutor during my studies.

My experience with distance learning has been positive overall. I’ve enjoyed the flexibility of studying at my own pace and having access to resources online. It has helped me develop strong independent learning skills, time management, and self-motivation.

The tutors are really good at answering questions and giving quick replies. The materials are very useful and I like how the course is layed out.

Im really grateful for the distance learning centre as they provided me the learning opportunities I never thought I’d have.
My tutor responds fast and explains every question I have professionally and the deadlines for each task is very well done to help manage my time. I recommend this to anyone who wants a degree but does not want to sit a levels.

The course is very well organised and clearly structured. The website is easy to navigate, and both the SAQs and TAQs are straightforward to understand. The Biology Tutor is extremely helpful and knowledgeable, she provides a full marking sheet with detailed comments for every assignment. I’ve noticed a real improvement in my thought process and the quality of my work by following her feedback. I am studying both Biology and Physics, as they are medically relevant and open doors to a wide range of degrees.

The issues I’ve experienced with the centre are minor but could be improved. Reception staff have occasionally been a little rude, and the number of passwords required for accessing SAQs, materials, marking sheets, and TAQs is unnecessarily complicated and leaves me spending ages searching through many emails for one password. Once a module is approved, all the related materials should become accessible without repeated different passowrds for every single document. Alternatively, having a single list that tracks all passwords in one place would save a lot of time searching through emails.

The study materials themselves are excellent, though the absence of teaching videos means I’ve had to rely on YouTube and resources like SaveMyExams.com for explanations, and I only use the course materials mainly to understand assignment expectations.

Overall, I believe the course offers great value for money. It’s very manageable even alongside a full-time job and other responsibilities. I aim to complete my course in less than 6 months, as I already have a science background and find the content clear and easy to follow.

If you’re considering taking a science course here, I would definitely recommend it. With effort and by applying the feedback provided, you can achieve distinctions and progress to university with confidence :)

I like how even though it’s not in person my tutor still manages to help me understand as best as I can.

My tutor has been so helpful and super supportive. I have found the structure of the modules very clear and easy to follow. Learning materials have been great.
