Cancelled without prior notice. I travelled all the way from Coventry for this event and wasted 22£ on the train. I was already at the venue when I got the cancellation text saying the host called in sick, I had to go back with the next available train, all a waste of time and effort. As a first timer for a speed dating event, I'm never booking them again, terrible first impression. Hopefully they refund my £15 ticket.

We are so sorry Valentine that we had to cancel the event. We had no earlier knowledge ourselves - our host had been poorly for a few weeks but really wanted to host the event has hadn't been well enough to host our last two due to long term illness. We wanted to support her in this and also had someone from our team who was set to host alongside as support but they had fallen ill with a viral infection that morning. On arrivel to set up she felt very sick and did try to continue. The venue were short staffed last night also due to illness so there was noone we could have even had from there to stand in - we did try to ensure the event could run as planned. It was a very difficult night and we felt awful having to cancel - everyone has already received their refund and accepted a free speed dating event from us next month but we fully understand why you were annoyed and chose not to attend another event with us - we are so sorry about this.
There are events happening in Coventry with other companies - if you need any help locating these we would be happy to help .
Sorry again for any inconvenience or stress caused last night.

Thank you for your review and I am sorry you were annoyed that your refund took longer than anticipated. Our team had had confirmation from Barclaycard that your full £20 refund was made.
Our team did explain to you that we don't process refunds - it is done via Barclaycard - the secure payment gateway that we use for all card bookings on our website. Yours was requested the day after we had to postpone our event. On messaging one of our team via text she did then follow up with Barclaycard to ensue your refund was made albeit later than we thought as we were initially unaware that you hadn't received it within the usual 3-5 working days. Barclaycard are usually very quick on all transactions but on occasions unintentional delays can happen. We are pleased you have received it now.

I attended a Ditch or Date speed dating event at Haus Bar last Thursday. This is my second event with Ditch or Date and their new Glasgow venue is stunning and the host, Danielle, was so friendly and welcoming. If you're thinking of going to an event like this, just do it! This again was a great night for me. I had a date on Saturday and going out with her again on Tuesday.

Event didnt take place no refund given
Booked a ditch or date event. Showed up at the location. Event didnt exist. Emailed and phoned to complain and never recieved refund
ETA after seeing reply - This is a lie, no event took place. I was there at the venue at the prescribed date and time. Thanks for wasting my time and stealing £20 from me, aswell as expenses spent to get to the venue. You shouldnt be running a business

I’m unsure why this person has left this review 3 months later. He booked for an event in Belfast that took place on 4th December. The event ran as normal with 30 people attending but he didn’t show up to the actual event despite insisting he was at the venue ?
We are unable to refund as no refund is due unfortunately as everyone else attending arrived as planned and took part in the event.
If you get in touch we can offer you another event as a good will gesture for you missing the one in December.
I’m unsure why you’re also accusing Ditch or Date of ‘ stealing’ your money when you have been offered another event as a good will gesture to ensure you attend an event when missing it wasn’t our fault.
Our host waited until 8.10pm for 2 people who didn’t arrive at the section of the venue where the event was held - you were one of them the other lady then arrived as was running late.
We have tried to help you and asked you to contact us so we can assign you to an event.
Kind host
Kind host, worked very hard. Everyone had opportunity to meet. Relaxed atmosphere and nice venue

Had a really enjoyable night
Had a really enjoyable night! Unfortunately, my friend was poorly on the day of the event but when i got there the host was so welcoming and instantly introduced me to some women who had already arrived, so I sat with them until the event started.
Helen also contacted me to say my friend could attend another event at no charge so that she didn't miss out, which was so kind and very much appreciated by Anna.
Definitely try these events if you're thinking about going, as they are a great night out and loads of fun to do.

Chasing my refund for a cancelled event
The Newcastle event was cancelled. I received an email saying I would be refunded and booked onto the January event.
I've replied a few times but I've get to receive a refund or booking details for the next event.
Edit: the refund was eventually processed and received. I have also been booked onto the next event.

I absolutely love working with Helen as a Hostess and doing the social media marketing. It's perfect for any adult over 18 that would like to meet potential new friends or a new lifetime partner.
I've started my first speed dating hostess event last week Wednesday evening at Manahatta Deansgate and it was amazing and the Bartenders were amazing & very polite.

This event was fantastic it was a brilliant night start to finish! Sometimes it can be daunting going to an event like this but the host was very warm and welcoming and really made everyone feel so comfortable and relaxed which made it easier to chat to people. If your single and looking to meet people face to face, this is definitely an event for you.

I have been to my 1st speed date event in Glasgow in November it was a good night however the after effects was very disappointing I have no idea why I didn't successfully match with anyone, since then there has been very little over 50s events
