The soft play is ripped and torn

The soft play is ripped and torn, very dangerous when small children are left to play. It’s also extremely dirty, the surfaces, the floor and the cups and saucers were not clean.
Add the staff who never smile or speak it’s a thoroughly unpleasant hour. We will not be returning

Sub standard coffee shop

Sub standard coffee shop. No attention to quality with till staff sirly. Simple things overlooked: espresso served in bucket size cup, so instantly cold; preheated espresso cup not too much to ask. Tea and americano on saucers that weren't clean and it must have been hours since anyone had swept the floor of crumbs, same for the sofa-seats.

Cafe long queues

Stopped for breakfast. Greeted in the restaurant by a mature gentleman who was unfriendly, no welcoming smile, very direct informing us there was a 30 min wait to eat which we were fine about.
Stopped here 2 days later for a quick coffee on our travels & the queue in the cafe was very long & very slow. It was obvious they needed more staff making drinks rather than 3 members serving cakes. Waited 40 minutes to get our lattes only to find they were lukewarm. At the end of the queue I had noticed there was no queue in the restaurant section but Was informed you can’t get a drink only in there & you must have food & drink in there. Common sense would dictate that you free up the cafe queue to help customers get their drinks quicker.

Tewkesbury Santa experience

We were booked for a Santa experience and given a time slot at 11.50 at Dobbies Tewkesbury, we were 10 minutes early only to find approximately 50 other people in the queue ahead of us. The queue snaked halfway round the shop and didn’t move. After 15 minutes we went to the Customer services to be told that they were running late as customers were taking longer than expected to go through the experience. We were told that we would just have to wait. There was no-one checking the queue to see what time slots people had and no information about the delays. After more than 30 minutes we spoke to customers at the front of the queue who had been waiting over an hour. The grotto had only been open since 10.30 so why the long delay no one knows. We went back to customer service and were offered a refund which we have accepted but not yet received. We had to go home with a very tearful little 3 year old. Shame on you Dobbies you couldn’t organise a p**** up in a brewery. Future customers be warned.

Fourth visit to Dobbies

Fourth visit to Dobbies, Tewkesbury , very disappointed. People were queuing out of the coffee shop, we stood in the queue for at least 15 minutes, three staff working, well sauntering around, tables full of dirty crocks, good selection of food options but after waiting all that time we then haf to wait a further 15 minutes for our hot drinks. It was an absolute shambles, slow staff, not enough staff and heavily laiden trolleys full to bursting with filthy food crockery etc No cutlery or serviettes. An absolute circus

Restaurant Lack of customer service and support

Dobbies Tewkesbury Restaurant

My wife and I Entered the restaurant with a breakfast in mind, my wife was about to sit in a booth area, and we were approached by a member of staff who stated we were not to sit there, I was a little confused by this conversation, but given the staff an element of reason considering the restaurant was massive and so many empty tables, we were ushered to a row of compacted tables and chairs with already full members of the public, I commented that It’s a busy area and I wanted a more private space to be able to talk in confidence with my wife, this was received by a “ it gets busy “ not something I expect as I am a paying customer, to be herded into an area for the convenience of the staff to save on legwork.
We immediately left as disgraceful service with no customer service to be corralled into a tightly packed area with no regard for the customer is not acceptable considering the whole place was empty apart from the whole line of public ushered into one place with no consideration for an individual who didn’t want to sit in this environment, worst service I have ever experienced !!

Meet n greet Guy was rude

Meet n greet Guy was rude, but we still chose to eat in the restaurant. Not the best experience. Fish finger sandwich - mass produced fish fingers, nothing special same one that would be served up on kids menu. Warmish, salad old, coleslaw warm even on cold plate (very dubious). Beef lasagna - hot so ok, salad old garlic bread ok. Kids menu chicken goujons, mash & beans - all quite cold, beans old, mash not nice.
This is the 2nd time we visited. First time for coffee & cake with our dogs - there was an issue as to where we sat even though we were well away from other guests, when I went up to the end of the counter for something (spoon etc) food items were on floor that really shouldn’t be. We thought twice before giving a second chance after this, now there definitely won’t be a 3rd time.

Shrink flation cakes with hardly any filling

Just visited the new Dobbies of junction 9 M5 for coffee and cake. Store is lovely but very disappointed with the quality of the cake. There has definitely been some shrinkage going on whilst prices have gone up. £16 for three drinks and 2 cakes. The filling was practically non existent. Won't be buying cake here again.

Went again hoping it would be better

Went again hoping it would be better. I was wrong. The only person that was actually doing anything was the cleaning lady. On the shop floor. Went outside to look at some plants. The ones I wanted didn’t have prices on. Not one member of staff was outside available to ask. Went to cafe for a coffee. Was queuing for 15 minutes. Which was ok as was busy. But the lady who served me wasn’t very friendly. And shouldn’t be working in hospitality. And yet again dogs barking. One in particular just sat in the restaurant part looking up at its owners & barked constantly. Would it have hurt them to of told him to be quiet. Why take dogs into a shop/cafe. If you can’t control them. I don’t think we will be visiting again. Not that it matters to Dobbies. Dobbies Tewkesbury

Professional and friendly service

Wendy went out of her way to show me to the product range I was looking for, and she gave helpful advice about the pros and cons of each. She then took me to a staff member to sign me up for the Dobbies Club Plus membership, which I will definitely use.
