We often go to the dog and partridge in Failsworth and it's my go to dinner out! I love the food and the staff are always polite and friendly. The only let down is as soon as it's busy the food quality goes down and the time you have to wait between courses becomes ridiculous. Other than this I go regularly but if the car park is busy or an even is on I just go somewhere else.
We visited for afternoon tea to top off a visit to the Peak District.
The food was first class. What you might expect: a variety of sandwiches, cakes, and scones with cream and jam plus individual cheese cakes, accompanied by a large pot of tea. We had traditional breakfast tea but a long list of herbal and fruit teas was offered.
We couldn’t eat everything but without us asking we were offered a “doggy” box to take the remainder home.
The only very small negative was where we were seated. On a quiet midweek afternoon with only a few guests we were not positioned in the glazed atrium area of the dining room. There’s also a nice patio area but as showers were threatened it would have been unwise to sit outside.
I went to dog and partridge in Sunningdale. Terrible. Waited 15 mins for a drink that never came and there was hardly anyone there. Whoever owns this joint is a bankruptcy in waiting if that's how they do business. I gleefully left and had a great time elsewhere.
We attended today for Mothers Day Lunch, service was excellent, food was so tasty, As a family of 6 we all ate different meals and were all very happy with everything we ate, we will be back to try more. Staff were very friendly and polite. Thank you see you again soon.
Because of Covid-19 restrictions I was forced to cancel my booking, but I still got charged the FULL amount. We booked the hotel via booking.com and we missed the date where we could cancel the booking for free. We booked two rooms for 3 nights, which is a lot of money.
They didn’t even let us change the date of the booking. Very disappointed in such bad service, and would have never expected that from a family business. At times like these they should have been more understanding and negotiated with us in some way. I would have been happy to accept a voucher or just change the booking date.
