Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 21 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed strong disappointment with the 'new improved' taste of the latte macchiato pods, frequently describing them as unpleasant, watery, and bitter. This change led numerous people to feel that the quality of their once-loved coffee has notably declined. Reviewers also encountered product quality issues, such as milk pods leaking and capsules not functioning correctly. Consequently, many long-term users are now stating they will no longer purchase these products and are actively seeking alternative brands. This widespread dissatisfaction has prompted several customers to consider changing their coffee machines entirely.

The new improved dolce gusto latte macchiato coffee pods are not nice at all. Unfortunately, as a dedicated user and coffee addict I have resorted to trying to find an alternative to these new pods.... See more

Why have Dolce Gusto changed the latte macchiato pods? They used to be delicious but they are revolting now. I won't be purchasing any more. Horrible taste.

NOT GOOD AT ALL.

Not good at all. I bought a machine and it states on the box £50 web credit. So i followed the instructions, and they give me £30 not £50 like it says. so they sent an email, with 3 separate codes each for £10. So i went online and added things to the basket, totaling just over £30. went to add the code and it says you can only add one code at a time. so the order would come to £3.94. Then it said you can only order once you’ve selected 4 boxes. so that would mean i would need to pay nearly £8 because i can only add one code at a time. it’s seriously a scam, they know exactly what they are doing. we assume free means free, but quite clearly not, we should be aloud to add all the codes or sent one code with the amount they have offered in this case £30 not £50 like the box says. so it would be pointless trying to get your free £30 because you’ll have to pay around £24 before you get them. so it’s not free. it’s a scam.

Sorry it’s a no

Sorry, certainly not for real coffee lovers and you are then tied in to buying their pods. Tried one in store by expert. It was bitter, not good. Real baristas would not even entertain this poor coffee, and the amount of money Dolce Gusto are spending on advertising to make you buy, says it all. Buy a fairly cheap machine try VonShef from Amazon, and buy some decent coffee from a proper coffee shop.

Great machine and delicious drinks, but...

Machine - Brilliant!
Drinks - Deeelicious!

BUT...

Coffee pods are more expensive than the others and what makes it worse is a lot of them are faulty. Like 1 in every 2 or 3 boxes, you get weak, and pale coloured drinks from these pods. I didn't even bother to taste it 'coz it just didn't look right. You'll start to hate it every time it happens. And now I regret buying it.

What will the company do? They'll ask you to send those used (yes, dig out your bins) and unused pods to a freepost address so they can investigate it. They won't offer to pay for the pods you bought that you are now supposed to send out to them. Yes you have to spend your own money to pack them take them to post office. Oh and yes you won't have any pods left to drink coz you realise they also asked for your unused pods!

No difference to getting money out of my bank card and throwing them in the bin.

On that basis, I can't recommend this product. Sorry.

This machine looks good

This machine looks good, however, it takes little pods of coffee/milk which costs me approx. 40p per coffee. Obviously cheaper than a cafe but dearer than my usual instant coffee. You can only make one coffee at a time and the amount of water that you run through each pod is up to you although there is a chart which tells you how many mls of coffee there should be and how many mls of milk. My cups don't have ml markings on them! So it's a guessing game each time. I've bought latte and I did buy some latte glasses but they didn't have ml markings on them either. It's okay... for one person... However:

It's a slow and noisy process. The water container doesn't hold that much water either. Wouldn't buy if you want to use it for half a dozen guests - would take far too long - and the first drink would be stone cold by the time you finished the last - not to mention boring your guests to death waiting. You then have to run hot and cold water through without pods to clean the tubes - and clean the drip tray... Would definitely recommend buying a traditional coffee machine which at least makes a "jug" of coffee for your guests - all on its own - without you having to stand over it.

I just have one a day now because I can't be bothered with the hassle of making any more and my brother just uses his as a kettle as the water boils faster - so he just puts coffee or a tea bag in a cup and runs the water through!!!

In other words it's a bit of a gimmick - albeit a nice looking gimmick...

Nearly as good as the coffee shops!

Just won a nescafe dolce gusto machine, and thought it was right to leave a review of this great machine! It dosen't take long to get hot, the removable water tank is a great feature, no fiddling about with jugs of water going everywhere! The coffee tastes great so far i've had the latte machiato , the cappuchino and the hot chocolate! All taste great. Takes about 2 minutes from putting the machine on to it dispensing your drink. The pods although expensive at nearly 4 pound a packet for 8 if you think about it, you'd pay about 15 pounds a week going to a coffee shop for coffee if you went every day for a week so in reality its a bargain!

Excellent Little machine!

I recently bought the Mini Dolce Gusto machine and I am extremely happy with it! I was going to go for the Nespresso which cost x5 more.
Really happy I settled with this one which is a fraction of the price of Nespresso.
