I was looking for a website where I could purchase only a few photos. Dreamstine offers this using credits. They have 2 tabs: one for subscriptions and one for credits. To me this implied that the credit were not subscriptions, but as I clicked to process my payment, I noticed fine print that the credits renew every month like a subscription. It was also not very clear the credit expire at the end of the month if you don't renew. I find this very deceptive.
The information was available, but you have to look extremely carefully.

I canceled my auto renew and they still charged me. This is a classic scammy site that makes it hard to cancel and doesn't give you a warning before charging you. Avoid them at all costs, there are more valid sites out there.

Horrible customer service. Make sure you take note of which website you sign up for. Kimberly has no customer service skills and Tom, the manager,was reluctant to apologize on behalf of his worker. Better off with depositphotos.

Without exaggeration, I consider your photo bank to be one of the best. After the terrible failure of Shutterstock, constant glitches and delays in checking illustrations by Shutterstock inspectors for several weeks, after the fantastically idiotic Getty rules that they themselves do not follow, and after the terrible Getty support that responds to requests for several weeks... You are just an island of light on a par with Adobe. If there was an opportunity to become your and Adobe's exclusive author, I would not hesitate for a second!

Everything Auto-RENEWS unless you go in and turn off auto renewal on your account. This should not be in fine print or even the default for customers that are buying "credits" instead of a "subscription." Obviously, a subscription is going to auto-renew, but if you're buying enough credits to download an image that you found, it should not keep charging you for that many credits every month until you find the (hard to find) cancellation of the auto renew. The text you have to click on to cancel is not a button or even look like a link that is clickable. It only shows you it's a link when you mouse over the exact words. It feels slimy. The only reason I gave them 2 stars at all is because they had a phone number that actually got answered quickly and my refund was offered cheerfully.

Dreamstime offers solid earnings, fast verification, quick payouts, and an overall user‑friendly contributor experience. The platform is easy to navigate, but it still lacks some standard features—most notably the ability to organize same‑theme images into albums instead of relying on lightboxes. The upload AI can behave unpredictably, and the description field doesn’t handle special characters or indicate its character limit, which often results in text being cut off and extra work to fix. Uploading vector files separately is also time‑consuming. Despite these drawbacks, the core functionality is strong, and with a few improvements, contributing could become much smoother. I’d also love to see more sales.

A very poor experience indeed. Their free trial only includes watermarked images which is not explained when signing up. Watermarked images are totally useless and not usable! Seemingly this is just a ploy to get you to sign up for a subscription plan and hope that you do not cancel before the first payment. We will not be returning to Dreamstime... the imagery isn't that great either.

I was offered 30 free downloads, only chose 2, then tried to cancel my subscription. Instead, I have been charged $30 and cannot cancel only pause. This is misleading and fraudulent operations.

Dreamstime went above and beyond to help me. I had a query about my account and they got straight back to me and helped me through my problem. Given the time difference, they were very prompt in getting back to me too. They were very clear on how to fix the problem I had and used a step by step approach with different options. I was very satisfied with the outcome and will definitely be using them in the future when I'm looking for that "just right" photo again.

GOT CHARGED for a FREE trial, EVEN THOUGH I CANCELLED WELL BEFORE THE EXPIRY DATE (three days prior to expiry). Reason being due to unexpected urgent life matters coming up, I wasn’t in a position to use any of the images at that time.
After disabling auto renewal I even received an email to resubscribe or lose the benefits. But when I logged in today AUTO RENEWAL was still OFF, somehow the SUBSCRIPTION still RENEWED and I got charged for something I explicitly cancelled. It seems several other uses have this issue too at this time. I also saw no mention of such a charge in the terms of service, and cancelled auto renewal under the "Payment Profiles" page as mentioned in their TOS (so this might most likely be a bug with the website)
I have not used the new subscription and it remains untouched. I’ve already contacted support via both the platform and email to the reviews address, and I’m currently waiting for a response.
Would really appreciate some assistance to resolve this issue. I will change this review and rating accordingly as any new updates arise.
